The car was packed with people, including Li, the service attendant. Qin Shuman had Fang Zhiwu sit in the front passenger seat, while she and Lin Han sat in the back.
Erni reluctantly put the tiger head on her lap.
She didn't understand why her mother-in-law had to bring a stranger along when she went shopping.
Erni was filled with hostility the moment she saw Lin Han.
For no other reason than that Lin Han is too beautiful.
She wore a lake-blue dress, her hair was styled into two black braids that draped down her back, and her face was fair and delicate, exuding a graceful and poised demeanor.
Erni had never seen such a beautiful woman before.
More fashionable than movie stars.
This made her, as a woman herself, feel a sense of comparison and crisis.
After Lin Han got on the bus, Erni subconsciously glanced at Fang Zhiwu. Seeing that the man sitting in front didn't turn around, she felt relieved.
Such a flirtatious woman, lest she seduce her man away.
Fang Zhiwu is currently a hot commodity, the son of the commander, and he's destined for great things. She needs to be wary of all the women around her who might pose a threat.
Erni kept a long face and didn't say a word the whole way.
It's all the fault of his mother-in-law, Qin Shuman. Does she dislike him and want to find Fang Zhiwu a different wife?
Qin Shuman stood between Lin Han and Erni. Even though Erni hadn't said a word to her, Lin Han could still sense the other woman's strong hostility.
After the car stopped in front of the department store, Qin Shuman pulled Lin Han out of the car.
"Hanhan, could you give me some advice later? You understand young people's aesthetics better, and I'm afraid I'll fall behind the trend."
Qin Shuman had no other intentions; she simply didn't want to be alone with Erni, and also really wanted Lin Han to help her choose some things.
Erni and Fang Zhiwu are from the countryside and are probably not very familiar with things in the city. They don't know how to use or style some things, so it's best to ask Lin Han for advice.
Erni, however, did not think so. She hadn't seen clearly in the car, but after getting out and seeing Lin Han's graceful figure, she became even angrier.
That old hag has ill intentions; she absolutely cannot let this woman be alone with Fang Zhiwu for a while.
If you want to snatch a man from her, you'll have to ask her if she agrees.
"Lin... I'll call you Hanhan, just like Mom does. Hanhan, what do you think of my man?"
Erni sidled up to Lin Han to sound out what he was saying.
Lin Han found her question strange, but out of politeness and to save Qin Shuman's face, she still said something kind.
"It's quite good."
It's not right for Aunt Qin to criticize her newly found son, is it?
It's a good example of safe social language.
Erni didn't understand. "That's good?" She really did take a liking to Fang Zhiwu.
"Hanhan, you might not know this, but Fang Zhiwu has been following me around since we were little, he..."
If Lin Han still doesn't understand after all this, then she's just plain stupid.
"Sister-in-law, you can just call me Lin Han. We're not that close. I wish you and Brother Fang Zhiwu a long and happy marriage."
After saying that, Lin Han ignored Erni and walked forward, taking Qin Shuman's arm.
"Aunt Qin, did Erni upset you?"
Lin Han originally had no feelings for Erni and Fang Zhiwu, but from the conversation just now, she could tell that Erni was no pushover.
Given Qin Shuman's personality and her deep-seated belief that Fang Zhiwu owed her something, it would be strange if she didn't suffer at Erni's hands.
