Qin Shuman had a lot of grievances to share. Her son was alright, but she couldn't get along with her daughter-in-law.

"I plan to spend more time with them and see how things go. If we really can't get along, I'm going to arrange a house for them nearby so they can move out and live on their own."

Just move around more often; there's no need to keep it under your nose every day.

Lin Han nodded. Every family has its own problems, and ultimately, it's up to Qin Shuman to make the decision.

Qin Shuman led the group up to the clothing counter on the second floor.

"Zhiwu, Erni, go pick out some new clothes. Don't worry about the price, Mom will pay."

Fang Zhiwu was a little embarrassed. This was the first time he had ever seen such a high-end department store, and the clothes here looked expensive. He didn't need such nice clothes; he could just have a few old clothes to wear.

"Mom, no need..."

Before he could finish speaking, Erni pinched him.

"Thank you, Mom. I'll help Zhiwu choose some clothes. He's not the same as before; he needs to wear nicer clothes."

Erni unceremoniously pulled Fang Zhiwu to choose something from the counter.

"This outfit, you've never worn such formal clothes before. You should also take that one, the blue one over there looks good too, and the jacket over there, you'll definitely look smart in it."

Fang Zhiwu was somewhat apprehensive. He thought he only needed to choose one set, but Erni quickly picked out several sets and handed them to him.

"How much will this cost? Maybe we shouldn't buy so much?"

Fang Zhiwu muttered to himself, and Erni pinched his arm hard.

"You idiot, it's your mom who's paying, not you, so why are you so upset?"

Didn't you see they're all wearing nice clothes? You've been missing for over twenty years; this isn't nearly enough.

Erni's voice wasn't loud, but Lin Han still heard it.

My impression of Erni took a sharp turn for the worse.

Isn't this just making Qin Shuman a sucker?

After Erni picked out five or six outfits for Fang Zhiwu, she also went into the women's clothing counter.

She took a liking to a dress similar to the one Lin Han was wearing and asked the sales clerk to bring it down for her.

"I'm sorry, comrade, there's only one left of this dress, and they don't have your size."

Erni is shorter and much heavier than Lin Han, and the dress hanging there is clearly not her size.

But she was determined to compete with Lin Han. If Lin Han looked good in her clothes, she could only look even better.

To prevent this little vixen from swaying around in front of her man and harboring wicked thoughts.

The title of "commander's daughter-in-law" is very tempting. Nowadays, young girls are all cunning and don't want to work hard; they just want to take shortcuts.

Besides, Fang Zhiwu is an honest and simple-minded man; he might be easily fooled by someone just by beckoning him with a little trick.

"What do you mean they don't have my size? Are you looking down on me? I want that one."

She turned to look at Qin Shuman, as if Qin Shuman's refusal to buy it for her meant she looked down on her and on Fang Zhiwu, her son from the countryside.

Qin Shuman didn't care. Erni had chosen the clothes herself, and whether she could wear them or not was her own business.

"Comrade, since my daughter-in-law likes it, then let's wrap it up for her."

Lin Han looked at the obviously ill-fitting size but didn't say anything. Originally, Qin Shuman wanted her to give Erni some advice.

But Erni is so hostile towards her, and she even deliberately wants to buy a dress similar to the one Erni is wearing, but which she can't wear at all. This is obviously her way of competing with her.

She stopped offering advice and let Erni buy whatever she wanted.

The result of Lin Han and Qin Shuman completely indulging Erni's whims was that not a single piece of clothing she bought was decent.
