He Caiwei left the space and carefully sensed the sounds around her, discovering that the house next door was empty.

It's probably a little past nine o'clock at night, and the whole street has fallen into a quiet slumber.

He Caiwei glanced at the spot where she had seen Butler Hu yesterday and found that there was still someone there, but this time it wasn't Butler Hu, but a person dressed in tattered clothes who looked like a beggar.

He Caiwei loosened the bolt on the door as quickly as possible, then pulled on a lock. The lock could be opened from the outside by simply pushing the door.

After doing all this, she ran to the backyard, set up a ladder, and then released He Yuping from the space. The mother and daughter then quietly climbed to the backyard next door.

She then moved the ladder to the left wall next door. After climbing over there, He Yuping carefully unlatched the door, opened the door, and peered outside. Finding no one spying in the corner, she quickly took her daughter out.

The door was tied to the outside with a rope. The old lady will definitely yell at me if she can't open it tomorrow. But if you go out the front door and turn around here, you can open the back door, or you can take a knife from inside and cut the rope. It won't be a problem at all.

The mother and daughter tried to walk close to the wall. It was late at night and there was no light. The moon was covered by dark clouds and the visibility outside was less than five meters. After leaving the alley and reaching the main road, there were dim streetlights, but the light could only illuminate a few meters around them. As long as the mother and daughter did not walk into the light, they would not be able to see it.

He Yuping found the way to the granary. The road was quite wide at first, so she asked her daughter to bring out the light cart.

The mother and daughter got into the car and sped off towards the warehouse.

What would normally be a four-hour journey, the mother and daughter covered in less than an hour to reach the path outside the warehouse.

The path was made of rammed earth, and even at its widest point, it was only wide enough for two people to pass each other. The goods in the warehouse were originally delivered here and then carried in.

This warehouse is nestled in a mountain valley, surrounded by mountains on all sides, and there is no other way to enter except through this small path.

The warehouse looks like a large yard from the outside, but inside there are only two rooms, and the rest of the space is very empty.

"How did they manage to transport the grain in through such a narrow road? This road must be incredibly difficult to navigate." He Caiwei suddenly understood why there's a saying: "If you want to get rich, build roads first."

Building a main road would make transporting things much easier. On such a narrow road, unless the goods are carried in by hand, even a bicycle might not be able to ride steadily, let alone deliver goods.

The mother and daughter stumbled and staggered along the narrow dirt road for more than half an hour before finally making it to the end.

Before them lay a quaint courtyard with a large padlock on the gate. The mother and daughter exchanged a helpless glance; they didn't have the key.

"A ladder? We have a ladder!" He Yuping thought she could just grab a ladder and climb in, but after looking left and right, she couldn't find any window to enter through.

"Mom, there's a tool shed in my space. There's a pair of pliers in the tool shed, but I'm not strong enough. Can you try to clamp this lock off?" He Caiwei was once again helpless with her small arms and legs.

"Then tell me how to use that, and I'll give it a try. I'm not very strong, but I'm an adult, so I'm definitely stronger than you." He Yuping had no choice. She wasn't actually that strong, but if the thing in Guai Guai's space didn't require too much strength, she could still handle it.

He Caiwei took out a hydraulic pliers from her own space, taught her mother how to use it, and then handed the heavy hydraulic pliers to her mother.

Following her daughter's instructions, He Yuping used the jaws of hydraulic pliers to bite the large lock and pressed down hard once. She tried twice, and three times, and finally, after five attempts, she managed to bite the lock off.

By the time she bit through the lock, she was covered in sweat: "Phew, I still need to train. It's really too hard without strength. I'm sweating all over."

"How about we find a map and walk to find Grandpa?" He Caiwei suddenly suggested when she heard her mother say this, which startled her mother.

"Are you crazy? You didn't even ask how far it is. Forget about getting to your grandpa's place, even halfway there would be enough to ruin both of our legs, believe it or not." He Yuping really wanted to see what was going on in this girl's head, why she was so unpredictable.

"Didn't you say you wanted to get some exercise? Wouldn't it be better to exercise along the way? We can even save on train fare." He Caiwei rolled her eyes at her mother. Wasn't it her mother who said she wanted to get some exercise? Otherwise, she wouldn't have come up with such an unreliable idea. They can't move around freely in this city anymore.

"Do you think your mother can get there like this? Are you stupid? Hurry up and open it, come in. Rest here for the night. Besides the two of us, only your father knows about this place. We don't know where he's gone or if he'll ever come back. Let's get these things out of here first, who cares if he comes back or not." He Yuping didn't want to see that man at all. She was even thinking about finding another warehouse and taking the things inside. After all, her daughter was a daughter of the Qu family. She hadn't received any inheritance, so asking for some things wasn't unreasonable.

Now that she thinks about it, she feels no guilt at all. After all, these things belong to the Qu family, and her daughter is also a member of the Qu family. It's not unreasonable for her to get these things. However, she can forget about those large warehouses that are in the public eye, because they have already been coveted by others and have been turned over to the public. Now, all the people guarding the granaries are people sent by the new government.

Once inside the warehouse, the mother and daughter were surprised to find that it was actually quite large. From the outside, it was impossible to tell how big it was, as it was an old-fashioned warehouse. However, this old-fashioned building was not just what it appeared to be; the floor below was actually a whole room high.

The warehouse, spanning over a thousand square meters, contained six iron grain bins, each two stories high. The entire bin, including the lid, was sealed tightly with iron sheets, with only an opening at the bottom meter to allow the grain to protrude.

"My goodness, how much grain is in all this?" He Caiwei exclaimed, somewhat bewildered. He had no idea how to calculate how much grain was inside.

“These tall buckets can hold two and a half tons of grain. Your grandfather calculated that these buckets were attached section by section. Goodness, can we put them all in? The gold is hidden under these grain buckets.” He Yuping spoke of her father with some pride. Her father was the most capable person she had ever met, and his abacus skills were the fastest she had ever seen.

However, I don't know if my daughter's space can fit such a tall bucket. If it can't fit completely, it will be difficult to get the things at the bottom.
