Lin Han came down from the second floor after using the restroom. Grandma Jiang and Qin Shuman had already put the dishes on the table. All that was missing was the braised pork ribs cooked by Gu Qizheng before they could eat.

At a rectangular dining table, Grandpa Gu sat at the head of the table, with Grandma Jiang and Qin Shuman sandwiching Lin Han in the middle. The three of them sat together so that it would be convenient for the two of them to serve food to Lin Han.

Gu Qizheng and Gu Huaiming sat on the other side.

Grandma Jiang was worried that Lin Han wouldn't be able to reach the dishes she wanted, so she piled all the good food in front of Lin Han, to the point that Grandpa Gu, who was sitting at the head of the table, had to stretch his arm out really long if he wanted to pick up a dish.

But Grandpa Gu didn't care; as long as his granddaughter-in-law ate well, the whole family would be happy.

Since becoming pregnant, Lin Han's appetite has improved a lot. She can eat more than before and is not picky about food.

She used to watch TV and see other women vomiting so badly during their pregnancies, and she thought it must be really tough. Luckily, she hadn't experienced that kind of reaction yet.

But it seems too early to say that; it's not the right time for her yet.

That night, when she went to sleep, she started experiencing acid reflux.

Lin Han and Gu Qizheng were lying in bed. Gu Qizheng hadn't slept in the same bed with his wife for many days, and he was now embracing her tenderly from behind.

He was burning with desire and wanted to lean in and kiss Lin Han's lips, but Lin Han suddenly started gagging.

"Ugh~ Honey, get out of the way, I'm going to throw up."

Lin Han felt a strong wave of nausea and tried to get up, but she vomited before she could even sit up completely.

"Ugh~"

Gu Qizheng reacted quickly, reaching out to catch Lin Han's vomit, preventing it from landing on the bed.

Gu Qizheng didn't mind the dirt and helped Lin Han lie down by the bed.

Lin Han vomited a few more times but didn't vomit much; it was mostly just acidic fluid.

After she vomited, she lay on the bed, and Gu Qizheng got up and went to the bathroom to bring over a basin of clean water to wipe her down.

"Honey, are you feeling unwell again? Would you like something to eat? I'll go downstairs and make you some sweet soup."

Lin Han nodded.

"I just feel nauseous and want to drink sour orange juice."

"Sour orange juice? Okay, I'll go buy some for you right now."

Gu Qizheng put on his clothes and went downstairs, where he happened to run into Gu Huaiming, who was still awake.

"Where are you going so late?"

"Hanhan just threw up and wants some sour orange juice. Dad, where is the service station on this side?"

When Gu Huaiming heard that Lin Han wanted to eat it, he did not stop her.

“The service stations are all closed this late, you won’t be able to buy anything there. How about this, I’ll ask your grandma to see where she can buy something nearby.”

Although Gu Huaiming grew up in the Kyoto Military Region, he and Qin Shuman had been away in Qingzhou for more than 20 years, and the place had long since changed.

They just arrived home today and haven't had time to get familiar with the place yet. If they want to buy anything, they'll have to ask the old lady.

The old lady went to bed early, and was already asleep when Gu Huaiming went to knock on the door.

It was Old Master Gu who opened the door.

"Are you two up so late at night, having nothing better to do than sleep?"

When Grandpa Gu saw his son and grandson coming over late at night to knock on the door and disturb his sleep, he was displeased and scolded them with a sour face.

Gu Huaiming quickly explained.

"Hanhan just threw up and wants to eat sour oranges. I came to ask where I can buy sour oranges."

When Grandpa Gu heard that Lin Han wanted to eat it, the displeasure on his face vanished instantly.

"Where can you still buy things this late? Come with me."

The three generations of the family put on their clothes and went out, each carrying a flashlight, heading in another direction from the residential compound.
