Lin Yangfeng had informed them a day in advance that they would be boarding the ship early today to leave Shanghai. They took it very seriously, taking out all the precious items they had hidden in the gaps between the bed boards and packing them into their suitcases to take with them.

This is terrible! I woke up to find my house had been burgled.

"Dad, we've lost our things, and now we're penniless and don't even have a change of clothes. What are we going to do?"

Lin Yangfeng also arrived at the front yard in his pajamas, and his experience was almost identical to that of his three sons.

"Forget it, let's hurry up and go, or it will be too late."

Fortunately, most of the family's belongings had been transported to the ship in advance, so the few lost items wouldn't have much of an impact.

When the three sons heard their father say this, they knew that he must have a backup plan. Their father was cunning, and they believed he was right.

The four of them got into a car and went to the dock, while Lin Han, who had been busy all night, was fast asleep in her room.

She said she wouldn't even leave them her underwear, and she meant it. She put all the treasures into her spatial storage, and as for the useless junk, she threw them all into the cellar where Chen Yueyang was imprisoned.

Lin Yangfeng led his men onto the ship. Before the political storms arose, leaving Shanghai was the wisest choice.

As soon as he boarded the ship, he went to the cabin to check on his treasures. He knew that if he wanted to live a good life in Hong Kong, he would have to rely on these things.

"It's alright, it's alright."

Seeing that each box was perfectly sealed, he finally felt relieved.

Lin Yangfeng walked to the box, raised his hand to feel its weight; it was heavy and secure.

"Set off!"

At a command, the ship roared to life and departed from the dock in Shanghai.

When Lin Han woke up, she looked at the marriage certificate and letter of introduction on the table and sighed.

Now she has no choice but to go to the military base and divorce Huo Qizheng. Only after regaining her freedom can she transfer her household registration from the military base.

Huo Qizheng must have had a pretty rough time. He was studying at a military academy when, because of a policy that encouraged capitalists to donate their private property to the state, a capitalist he didn't know responded to the call and donated a large sum of money. Huo Qizheng was then inexplicably chosen to marry a stranger and became the only victim in this transaction.

It is estimated that Huo Qizheng himself did not agree to this marriage.

Lin Han's train ticket was for 5 PM, which wouldn't affect her shopping or her chance to see Lin Jiaojiao make a fool of herself.

Having the experience of buying things for her aunt before, Lin Han was very familiar with the department store.

This is Shanghai, after all. Its prosperity is unmatched by other places, and some of the things here are not necessarily available elsewhere.

It's never a bad thing to buy more.

After leaving the department store, Lin Han went to the black market to replenish the money he had spent, raising a total of 30,000 yuan to keep on hand for future use.

Lin Han specially bought a domestically made watch to tell time; she dared not use the Rolex and Patek Philippe that she had confiscated from Lin Yangfeng.

She's easily labeled as a "capitalist's daughter," so it's better to keep a low profile.

Lin Han calculated the time and went to the train station.

Passengers bound for Northwest China are having their tickets checked and entering the station.

Lin Jiaojiao and Feng Tianyou, looking rather disheveled, were sandwiched between the Red Committee members.

"Hurry up and stop looking around. The reason why people suffer so much is because of you heartless capitalists."

Once we get to the Northwest, we'll work hard, undergo rigorous reform, and correct our capitalist roader tendencies.

Lin Jiaojiao suddenly looked up and saw Lin Han standing outside the station entrance, looking at her meaningfully.

"Lin Han, are you here to laugh at me? Let me tell you, even if I'm exiled to the far northwest, I'll still live better than you."

I have a loving husband and in-laws; wherever I go, I'm the apple of everyone's eye. But you have nothing; you're left all alone to serve a disabled and useless husband.
