“Alright then, isn’t there a grove of trees in front of that open space? Why don’t we put the person in the grove? If he wakes up and sees the grove, will he realize that he’s still in the grove?” He Caiwei thought of the same method and tied the person to the grove in the space.
"Alright, alright, be careful. I'll go get you something to eat first. If he has a fever, give him some water." He Yuping muttered as she walked towards the kitchen. Once she brought the person into the space, she wouldn't need to help anymore. Everything in this space was under her daughter's control, so she didn't need to waste her energy dragging the person along.
He quickly returned to the kitchen, served the dishes to himself and his daughter, and called his daughter over to eat.
He Caiwei was quite kind-hearted; after finishing her own meal, she didn't forget to prepare a bowl of very thin porridge to feed the injured person.
He Yuping knew that the person could definitely survive as soon as she saw that he could still swallow, but she needed to confirm the person's identity.
After feeding the person a small bowl of rice porridge, it came out of the space.
"Girl, should we search this person to see if they're carrying any dangerous weapons or anything else?" He Yuping thought it might be necessary to search them; perhaps they could find identification on the person.
"This isn't a good idea, never mind, I'll do it, I'll do it." He Caiwei looked at her little hands, then at her mother, and decided she had to do it herself.
It's not good for her mother to lay hands on a grown man like that; she's a child, so she probably doesn't have as many reservations.
Before He Yuping could finish her thought, her youngest daughter had already taken action. He Caiwei searched all the pockets on the man's body and found only two slips of paper with two sets of Arabic numerals on them. There was nothing else, not even a slip of paper to prove his identity.
Finding nothing, He Caiwei turned her attention to the tattered shoes, took out a mask and put it on, then reached out and pulled off the man's cloth shoes.
The smell was so overpowering that He Caiwei almost fainted from the stench, having not washed her feet for days.
Despite the stench, there was indeed something to be found. Although the shoes looked worn, there were two insoles inside, both with interlayers, and the workmanship was very skillful, with fine stitching. If she hadn't wanted to tear the insoles out to take a look, she would never have known that things could be hidden like that.
"Mother, here is a report about intercepting medicines, and another one seems to be some kind of list." He Caiwei clearly saw the words on the report, and the report about intercepting medicines indicated that the interception time was tomorrow night.
In other words, this intelligence must be sent out before dawn. Where is Tiger Gorge? I don't think I've ever heard of such a place name before.
"Mother, where is Tiger Gorge? There's an address for this place on this intelligence report." He Caiwei showed the paper to her mother; she truly didn't recognize any of the places in the area.
"Tiger Gorge? It's not far from where we are now. It's about a four-hour drive. What should we do? This person is unconscious, so we can't send out the intelligence. If someone intercepts it, it will be bad." He Yuping knew that medicine was a very rare resource for the current military.
"This person is seriously injured and won't wake up for a while. We don't know where this note is going or who will receive it. What should we do? Should we rob it first?" He Caiwei was afraid that the item would fall into the hands of the enemy, so she wanted to take the item into her space first. After confirming the safety of the item and the person, she would put the person and the item together, and then she and her daughter could make a clean getaway.
"No, it's too dangerous. Those people are armed, and we don't even know how many there are, or whether the supplies belong to our own people or the enemy. We can't act rashly, or we'll drag ourselves into a dangerous situation." He Yuping didn't quite agree with her daughter's idea, since they didn't know whether the people transporting the supplies were enemies or allies.
They couldn't yet estimate the consequences of acting rashly.
"What should we do? We have no idea what to do or what to do with this person." He Caiwei also felt that she hadn't thought things through, but now that this person had come down, she and her daughter still hadn't figured out how to deal with him.
"Never mind, let's get the car out first, then put this person in the car, tie his hands and feet, and ask him about it after he wakes up." He Yuping had never experienced anything like this before, so this was the best solution she could think of at the moment.
He Caiwei, carrying a flashlight, followed her mother down the mountain. They were currently halfway down, and it was quite dangerous on the mountain at night. She had just heard wolves howling. However, they were probably still on the outer edge, so the wolves hadn't come this far yet. But the wolves had bled a lot when they died, and she wondered if that would attract the wolves here.
Six people died here, all wearing the same clothes, so they were obviously a group. It was He Yuping and her daughter. Seven guns and six daggers were found on them.
Of the six men, one had two guns, one long and one short, while the others each had one gun and one dagger. The man with the two guns was the richest.
Just after the mother and daughter left, six more people dressed like the six on the ground arrived. However, they had only just seen the people lying on the ground when the wolf pack came. In order to save their lives, they did not go over to check whether any of those people were still alive.
Therefore, they didn't know whether the person they had been chasing was actually among this group. When they returned, they only said that those people had been eaten by wolves.
I found a few tattered pieces of paper, handed them in, and that was considered completing the task.
He Yuping and her daughter, along with an injured person, drove until dawn before stopping to rest. The man in the back seat, Lu Zhiheng, had actually woken up long ago, but he didn't know his current situation and didn't dare to speak.
Only when the car stopped did he dare to open his eyes. Lu Zhiheng could feel the wounds on his abdomen and shoulder; although the bleeding had stopped, the bullets inside were still there. His hands and feet were bound, but his eyes weren't blindfolded, so he could see that a woman was driving, but she was talking incessantly to someone.
From his perspective, there was no one in the passenger seat, but after the woman finished her rambling, a child's voice came from the passenger seat.
Lu Zhiheng only realized at this moment that he had been rescued by a mother and daughter. When he saw that his shoes were missing, he was completely flustered. All his information was stored in the insoles. How was he going to explain that the shoes were gone?
