Chapter 104 Where to find the key? (3/3)
Reading Settings
Yan Yu looked at her face, which had regained its color, and gently pressed his forehead against hers, the darkness in his eyes turning into a soft light that could drown a person.
"Okay, whatever you say."
He gently rubbed his chin against the top of her soft hair, his voice deep and affectionate.
"Don't worry, it can't escape."
Without further delay, the two went their separate ways.
Yan Yu was in charge of the higher areas, while Ruan Tang was in charge of the lower areas, as they explored the stone wall inch by inch.
The cave was so quiet that only the rustling sound of clothes rubbing against each other could be heard.
I searched the entire cave wall, but still found nothing.
Ruan Tang was a little discouraged. She squatted down and did a final check along the base of the wall.
Just as her little hand touched the bottom of the central stone wall, her fingertips suddenly felt empty.
It wasn't rough rock, but a cold, hollow feeling.
A thought struck her, and she quickly leaned over to take a look.
At a height of less than two fingers above the ground, the rock is slightly darker in color than the surrounding rocks, but it is almost imperceptible without careful observation.
In the middle of this dark rock, there is a pitch-black hole.
The hole was about the thickness of a thumb, strangely shaped like a lock cylinder, yet far more complex than any keyhole she had ever seen.
"Brother, come quick!"
Yan Yu walked over in a few steps and squatted down beside her.
He glanced at it only once, then stretched out his long, slender fingers and probed the edge of the hole.
Then he closed his eyes.
A powerful, invisible force silently seeped into the hole.
Ruan Tang felt as if the air around her had frozen for a moment.
A few seconds later, Yan Yu opened his eyes, his gaze deep and intense.
"Inside are interlocking springs, a very precise design."
He withdrew his hand, his tone resolute.
"The moment a brute-force attack is launched, everything inside will self-destruct."
"The lock must be opened with the matching key."
key?
Ruan Tang blinked. Where to look?
This cave is over a hundred years old; who knows if the key is still there?
The two exchanged a glance and both understood.
This matter cannot be rushed.
Since it can't be opened, let's leave.
Both of them were efficient and immediately began cleaning up the scene.
Yan Yu used his mental power to erase all traces, restoring himself to the exact state he was in before they arrived.
Retreating to the cave entrance, Ruan Tang took out a yellow talisman from her satchel, her fingertips flashing with spiritual energy as she chanted incantations.
"go!"
The talisman transformed into a faint light, silently adhering to the inner wall of the cave entrance before disappearing without a trace.
After doing all this, the two of them worked together to prop up the weeds again and transplanted some shrubs to make the cave entrance look completely legitimate.
After confirming everything was in order, Yan Yu took Ruan Tang's hand and turned to descend the mountain. (This chapter has been read. Please click the next chapter to continue reading!)
