Chapter 173 Peking University Alumni Circle

No one mentioned what happened that night. Fu Yingzhou and Shi Shi returned to their strangely sweet and passionate period of love.
That day, Shishi received a call from Li Tongqiang of Peking University.
"Good morning, Principal. Why are you calling me at this hour? Is there some instruction you need? Please tell me."
"You were right. The idea of a grand chorus of famous alumni from Peking University that you mentioned has been approved. The first batch of alumni will be coming to record songs in the next few days."
Shi Shi asked, "Do you mean that the medley of alumni will be recorded in several parts?"
“We alumni are all very busy, so we can’t get them all together. Since you wrote the song, it will probably be hard on you. Please give them some guidance each time they come to record.”
Wouldn't that mean I'd be using the guise of mentoring to reach every batch of alumni?
Shi Shi was overjoyed, but her tone remained calm: "I'm also a student of Peking University, so I should do my part for our school. It's my duty, President!"
Li Tongqiang chuckled on the other end of the phone: "It has to be you, Professor Shi."
Just as Shishi never calls Li Tongqiang "vice principal," Li Tongqiang never calls Shishi "associate professor."
"Thank you for your trouble, Shi Shi. See you at school Monday morning."
Kyoto University, Monday morning
As a long-established university in China, Peking University has a significant presence in high society circles, with a large portion of its members, aside from those who studied abroad from a young age.
Shishi wanted to use this opportunity to infiltrate the network of connections at Peking University. These shrewd people who had been navigating society for years were certainly not going to let this opportunity pass them by. Their agreement to attend this prestigious alumni gathering naturally had its own motives.
Compared to her usual stylish and confident attire, Shi Shi's outfit today was surprisingly casual. She wore a simple white dress underneath, the hem swaying gently in the breeze, its lack of excessive embellishment giving it a fresh and natural look. She paired it with white flat sandals, making walking light and comfortable. Over this, she wore a camel-colored coat. Her hair was casually draped over her shoulders, with a few wisps playfully falling beside her cheeks, adding to her relaxed charm. Around her neck was a delicate white gold necklace set with a ten-carat pink diamond, shimmering subtly in the sunlight, exuding understated luxury.
Clothing and jewelry are always meant to serve the person. Normally, because of her young age, she fears she won't be able to command respect from her subordinates, so she dresses more maturely. But when she's with Fu Yingzhou, she's the ever-changing girlfriend. Today, she's just an ordinary junior from Peking University. Although everyone knows she's here to expand her network and broaden her social connections, no one likes a woman who aggressively and forcefully intrudes. At the very least, she has to appear harmless.
Shi Shi strode confidently into the school. Upon arriving at the recording venue, she spotted several alumni who were there. A flicker of surprise crossed their eyes at Shi Shi's attire, but they quickly regained their composure. Shi Shi greeted them with a smile, addressing them respectfully as "senior" without any discrimination based on their social status. This friendly demeanor undoubtedly earned her much praise from many.
Then came some influential figures. Until Gu Yanting appeared.
Since Zhao Xiao's marriage, Gu Yanting has not seen Shishi again, and he has intentionally or unintentionally stopped paying attention to her. He has also delegated related legal matters to others for approval.
She is still so beautiful. Another year has passed, and she is like a flower in full bloom.
Gu Yanting's gaze lingered on Shi Shi, his heart stirred with emotion. Shi Shi saw Gu Yanting, smiled slightly, and greeted him calmly and composedly, "Senior Gu, long time no see."
Gu Yanting nodded politely, but his eyes never left her. Shi Shi disliked the awkward atmosphere and spoke up, "Why didn't Zhao Xiao and his wife come today? He's the head of a large corporation, and I heard Yu Min started a charitable foundation and became Chairman Zhang."
Gu Yanting nodded. He had originally thought that their marriage would be a chaotic affair. Unexpectedly, after the wedding, Zhang Yumin seemed to have shed her quills, becoming gentle and harmless.
"He's going to be a father, and he recently took his younger siblings to the United States for a relaxing trip."
Upon receiving this news, Shishi was truly shocked. Only a few months had passed, and their status had changed so drastically. However, they are a legally married couple, so this is all normal.
"Congratulations to them both. To be honest, I didn't expect you to come."
"What's wrong?"
"I never imagined what Senior Gu's singing would be like."
Gu Yanting felt somewhat uneasy; he hadn't originally planned to come. But he couldn't control his voyeuristic desires and, as if possessed, came.
"One person only has one line of lyrics. It shouldn't be too difficult."
After saying that, he added another sentence. They were rehearsing in the auditorium of Peking University. The two of them sat on chairs in the audience. Although there were a few seats between them, their voices still clearly reached Shishi's ears.
How are you doing now?
The two are merely acquaintances who can exchange a few casual words. To say that would be presumptuous.
Shi Shi knew that Gu Yanting harbored a subtle affection for her. However, he didn't like that type of man. He was too reserved, while Shi Shi had a passive personality. She needed a more assertive man to invade her emotions.
"Of course it's great. Everything is going very smoothly."
Gu Yanting nodded: "That's good. If you need anything in the future, just let me know. I can't let you call me 'senior' for nothing."
Who are you to me?
She thought this in her heart, but couldn't say it aloud. Shi Shi nodded with a subtle smile.
After everyone arrived, the teachers from the school who were in charge of contacting them gave everyone some instructions, and then Shishi began to assign lyrics to each person and guide them on how to sing.
Don't let their status as powerful figures fool you; when they sing off-key, they're completely oblivious to their own family. Luckily, two of them are decent singers. Otherwise, it would have been a disaster.
Fortunately, Shi Shi has excellent coordination skills and assigned suitable lyrics to everyone, cleverly omitting the more difficult parts. Otherwise, the song would be completely unlistenable.
In contrast, Shih Shih said... "These are all tough jobs now, but we'll need to use advanced technology when we start production."
By the end of the day, Shishi had added the contact information of six senior students and two senior students. Some worked in the biopharmaceutical industry, some in finance, some in real estate, and some were big names in information engineering. Although she had been bombarded with distracting messages all day, she had at least gained something.
The bigwigs were all busy and couldn't stay at Peking University all the time, so they only gave her half a day. They all went their separate ways at noon.
In the afternoon, Shi Shi went to the Influencer Creation Bureau. Something had happened at the influencer company. She had to go and check it out.
