Yang Jiahui strode towards the car, and just as he opened his mouth to shout, he saw a figure pass him and block the car window firmly.
"Hey bro, it's below zero now. What if you catch a cold with the car window open like that?! Do you want to end up in the ER again? Close the window, close it, and I'll turn on the air conditioning for you."
Jin He touched his nose, looking guilty, and said, "I was just thinking of watching for a little while."
"Stop looking, what's so interesting about that face?" An Yi reached over Jin He and turned on the car's air conditioning. "Just sit here."
"Did you buy the baby formula?"
“Okay.” An Yi handed the shopping bag to Jin He.
Yang Jiahui, having been left hanging for a while, grew a little anxious and quickly reached out to grab Jin He's hand: "Hey, brother, why aren't you talking to me?"
"Because I don't want to talk to you at all, can't you tell?" Jin He shook off her hand, looked Yang Jiahui up and down again, and said slowly, "We haven't seen each other for many years. Actually, I've always been curious about how you've been doing lately. Did you get into film school? Now look at you... what happened to your face?"
"It was just a minor adjustment, bro. You have no idea, my parents can't even pay the mortgage on our apartment in the city center. They're already so in debt, how can they afford for me to repeat a year of high school..."
Jin He was speechless for a moment: "...Okay, seeing you doing so badly now makes me really happy."
"Oh, what are you saying? We grew up together since we were little..."
It took Yang Jiahui a while to realize what Jin He had said. Just as he was about to get angry, he heard Jin He's unrestrained laughter. Jin He was laughing so hard in the passenger seat that she was doubled over. An Yi stepped on the gas and drove away, spraying the two of them with exhaust fumes. Only Yang Jiahui and the man next to him were left staring at each other like two stone statues.
"Aren't you quite familiar with him?" the man asked.
Jin He glanced down at the shopping bag and noticed a pack of grilled sausages inside. She grinned and said, "Did you buy this for me?"
"I bought this for the puppy. Who can resist this thing in the supermarket? He usually doesn't eat any meat, but now he's got a craving for it. He'll get sick of it when we get home, so he can't throw up."
"I promise I won't throw up!"
"Ugh~"
Jin He hugged the toilet, and An Yi patted his back helplessly, holding a glass of warm water in one hand: "I told you that stuff is greasy, but you wouldn't listen. Here, rinse your mouth."
"Who would have thought... there was such a big chunk of fat in it, ugh..." Jin He vomited up all of her dinner before straightening up and honestly saying, "I will never eat grilled sausage again."
"It's okay." An Yi reached out and rubbed his constantly cramping stomach. "I asked Aunt Shu to make you some lean pork sausages and I've frozen them in the refrigerator. We can take them out and grill them whenever you want. I bought a sausage grilling machine."
"A sausage grilling machine?"
"Yeah, it's the kind you find in convenience stores, you put a sausage on it and it spins by itself." An Yi opened his arms. "Shall I carry you back?"
Jin He gently pushed him away, indicating that she didn't need to. "I'm going to make nougat."
Jin He can actually cook a little, but only boiled noodles in clear broth and steamed rice. Because he doesn't have much of a appetite, he rarely puts in the effort to cook anything delicious.
So he used An Yi's tablet to search for a tutorial, placed it on the kitchen island, and followed the tutorial step by step, while An Yi leaned against the island and watched him.
However, Jin He only managed to heat the butter, and burned the pan while it was melting.
"Why?!" Jin He exclaimed, sweating profusely as she looked at the burnt pan. "Did I put in too little butter?"
“Hmm.” An Yi remained perfectly calm. He rummaged through the cupboard and pulled out another non-stick pan, handing it to Jin He. He then took the pan from Jin He and placed it by the sink to wash it. “You can make it again this time. Add more butter this time.”
"oh."
Jin He put in half a block of butter this time, but it still stuck to the bottom, so she threw the pan down and said, "I'll do it again tomorrow morning."
“Okay.” An Yi took the pot and finished washing it.
"Then I'm going to sleep?"
“Come back.” An Yi pulled him back again. “Eat some steamed buns before you sleep, otherwise your stomach acid will burn and hurt your stomach again. Here, you can eat this side dish with it.”
"oh."
Jin He sat down on the high stool and slowly ate a slice of steamed bun. Aunt Shu had pickled some cucumbers and put them in the refrigerator. An Yi should take out a few pieces for him to eat with them.
Do you feel nauseous?
Jin He shook her head; it smelled quite good.
"Let's make a deal."
"What?"
"Could you please not put sea cucumber in my millet porridge tomorrow morning? It's really fishy." Jin He's mouth was stuffed full, and she said indistinctly, "Millet porridge with pickled vegetables is delicious enough. Don't add any more useless stuff."
"Don't sea cucumbers have absolutely no taste?"
"And it's sticky and gooey, it's really disgusting, I don't want to eat it anymore."
"Hang in there, sea cucumbers are very good for your health."
“But I have a poor stomach and can’t eat too much good food.” Jin He held up the steamed bun in her hand. “I’ll eat this for a few days. Of course, it would be even better if I could have a hot pot meal.”
"I'll make you hot pot tomorrow."
"So readily agreed?"
"Of course." An Yi washed the pot expressionlessly. It was a Chaoshan-style congee hot pot, absolutely healthy and guilt-free. "Then we still need to eat sea cucumber tomorrow."
"I'll eat it."
It's just taking the stuff on the third floor, a piece of cake!
When Jin He was halfway through eating his steamed bun, An Yi's phone suddenly rang. He wiped his hands clean and looked at it, only to find that his assistant was bombarding him with messages on WeChat.
"Boss! Boss! Look, Jin He is trending on social media!"
When An Yi opened Weibo, the first trending topic was:
#Jin He's plastic surgery failed
#Did Jin He withdraw from the competition because of plastic surgery?
#How good-looking was Jin He back then?
#Don't meet a stunningly beautiful "white moonlight" when you're young
#Although, but that's Jin He at eighteen!
An Yi had a vague feeling of unease. He clicked on the video and saw that the first video was a secretly filmed clip of An Yi and Yang Jiahui talking to each other. Yang Jiahui was jumping up and down at the car.
It has to be said that Yang Jiahui and Jin He do have some similarities. An Yi thinks that Yang Jiahui may have used Jin He as a template for plastic surgery. Although every procedure was done according to Jin He's appearance, the doctor's skills were too poor and his own aesthetic sense was too low. Every time he had surgery, it was a disaster.
But from this distance, I can vaguely see some similarities to Jin He... but that's not enough to mistake her for someone else!
The comments below are even more interesting:
Although I dislike Jin He, it doesn't mean I dislike his face. Who told him to get plastic surgery? Does he even know what he did?!
Damn it, who could understand the devastating impact of a top boy band's visual suddenly turning into a snake demon?! Jin He didn't look like this before! Give me back Jin He's face!
Waaaaah! Who understands? Everyone loves Jin He. There's still no substitute in the Chinese entertainment industry. Even though his career collapsed, I still can't forget his face. Now, are you all satisfied?
Why do I feel like Jin He's plastic surgery made her look sleazy?
An Yi: "..."
Let's not let Jin He know yet.
"Huh?" Jin He's voice sounded behind him. He turned around abruptly and found Jin He peeking out from behind him. "Are they saying I was good-looking when I was young?"
