Chapter 50 Are you mentally ill?

Lin Nian noticed that An Yi had become much more normal since returning from the holiday. He no longer went around trying to get Jin He's attention, but instead dutifully became his mentor.
That day, An Yi suddenly told him, "Jiang Xiubai contacted me yesterday."
"What's wrong?"
“He said his schedule was ready, and he heard that our third public performance is a collaboration stage for mentors, so he wanted to come and be a guest mentor.”
"Ah." Lin Nian hesitated.
“I didn’t let him come. I told him we should all get together sometime,” An Yi said. “This is originally the stage for those kids. If we reunite here in Aurora, wouldn’t that be stealing their thunder?”
“But they are quite anxious now; they want to see Jin He. I told them to wait a little longer, because I’m afraid that Xiao He’s emotions might get too agitated and it could be bad for her health.”
"Hmm." Lin Nian agreed with his approach. He asked, "Why haven't I seen you hanging around Jin He lately? Have you two made up?"
Upon hearing this, An Yi straightened his back: "It'll be soon, right? Xiao He said he wants to wait until he becomes a better person before getting back together with me. He said he wants to become someone worthy of me."
He felt smug whenever he thought about it: "See? He likes me but doesn't dare to admit it. Last night he suddenly figured it out and had an open and honest talk with me. He only likes me. Who else could he like if not me?"
Lin Nian: "..."
“By the way, I saw that there’s been a flu outbreak at the base recently. I bought some medicine to send to Jin He. His health can’t handle a cold or fever; it’ll cause problems.” An Yi took out a medicine box from under the coffee table. “Antiviral medicine, fever reducers, and some stomach medicine.”
"Don't we have a medical team here?"
“Xiao He can’t take just any medicine. Some medicines can put a strain on his heart. I specifically asked the doctor about it,” An Yi said. “Could you hand him the medicine box for me?”
The group assignments were randomly assigned. The children's numbers were attached to a small ball and placed in a box. The instructor would randomly draw the ball from the box. An Yi knew about this part beforehand. He originally planned to manipulate the assignment and put Jin He in his own group.
However, after discussing it publicly that night, he realized that if he did that, he would definitely be met with a cold shoulder from Jin He, so he had no choice but to give up.
As a result, Jin He was neither assigned to Lin Nian's group nor to his own group.
He was taken away by Fang Canyang.
Fang Canyang probably didn't expect that his casual draw would result in him being selected. He was quite surprised to hold the number plate. Jin He covered his head, feeling that he couldn't see his future at all.
As you can see, Fang Canyang doesn't really like him. Jin He only recently discovered this, because when he was popular, Fang Canyang called him "senior" so affectionately.
But now...
Jin He thought it might be because Fang Canyang was in Aurora's debut class at the time, and his arrival took Fang Canyang's debut spot, which caused Fang Canyang to dislike him.
"This is truly an unexpected development," Fang Canyang said with a smile. "Come on, Jin He, it's been a long time since we trained together, probably seven or eight years."
Feeling uneasy, Lin Nian whispered in An Yi's ear, "Won't Xiao He be bullied by Fang Canyang?"
An Yi was amused.
Jin He? Was he bullied?
He's more likely to bully others.
Fang Canyang couldn't beat Jin He back in the debut class, and he might not be able to now either. He has a heart condition, but he's not stupid.
Jin He looked at their group's lineup: mentor Fang Canyang, and teammate Qi Yunran.
This is going to be interesting.
“Look at him, all all eager and ready. Does he look like he’s going to be bullied?” An Yi said, somewhat speechless. “I even suspect that if Qi Yunran and Fang Canyang really behave themselves and do nothing, he’ll be very disappointed.”
The clash between Jin He and Fang Canyang began on the very first day of practice.
“You can’t rap, right?” Fang Canyang said, holding a lyric book and leaning close to Jin He like a buddy. “Then I won’t give you this part. It will affect our overall impression.”
"Who says I can't rap? My rap was taught by Shen Duoyuan."
"What I mean is, you might not be as good at rap as you are at singing and dancing. Sometimes you shouldn't force yourself to do things you're not good at, right?"
That makes sense. Jin He can do it, but he's not very good at it.
"Oh, I understand." Jin He grabbed Fang Canyang's hand, her face full of gratitude, and said, "Teacher Fang! You want me to sing the hook? You're so kind!"
Fang Canyang was unsurprisingly taken aback.
Hook, the most catchy and captivating part of a song.
"You can compete among yourselves to decide which parts you want to sing," Fang Canyang said. "Since this is my song, I can't interfere too much. You can decide for yourselves. I'd like to sing the hook, and you can choose the rest."
They picked out the best parts right away. Jin He could only say, "As expected of you." But since he was the mentor, no one would dare to compete with him. They could only choose the remaining few.
“I want to start with this,” Qi Yunran said at this moment.
Jin He nodded, not arguing with him. "I want this ending."
Fang Canyang pointed to the lyric book and said, "I think, Xiao He, you could try this fast-paced rap and give it a challenge. I think if you can sing it well, you'll be pretty good."
Jin He: "???"
"ha?"
"Yeah, this fast-paced rap will be really impressive if you sing it well. See how much I'm on your side? I shouldn't have picked this for you, but give it a try. You're already here anyway."
"You just said there's no need to touch things you're not good at, but now you've changed your tune? What exactly are you trying to do?"
Jin He looked up, the four words "I don't understand you" practically imprinted on his forehead. He stared at Fang Canyang and posed a profound question:
"Are you mentally ill?"
