“He hasn’t actually regressed that much, right?” Lin Nian stood next to An Yi, arms crossed, watching the boys on stage putting on their best performance. “You have to understand, Xiao He didn’t train for very long. He debuted without any training, so naturally he can’t compare to people like us who have trained for over ten years.”
An Yi stood there without saying a word.
“You don’t have to be so harsh on Xiaohe,” Lin Nian said. “Actually, Jinhe’s training time is probably not even as long as Wen Lian’s.”
He doesn't have much time to train; it seems like he's been constantly being pushed around since his debut.
“He’s already done a great job. When he’s in good form, he’s actually no worse than Wen Lian,” Lin Nian added. “In fact, when he was twenty, he was already good enough to get an A here. How could a kid we both taught be too bad?”
Lin Nian rambled on and on, while An Yi just stood there silently with his arms crossed. Suddenly, he picked up the walkie-talkie on the table and said, "Wait a minute, why can't the person in the center get on camera? Is their camera presence that bad?"
The students behind her all turned their gazes toward her. Fang Xiaoke blushed and bowed deeply, saying, "I'm sorry, Teacher An."
“You’re in the center position out of ninety people right now. If you don’t perform well, everyone else will have to start over with you.” An Yi said coldly. “Start over again. Remember which part the camera is on, so you don’t miss it again.”
"Okay, okay."
"Can you be a little gentler? You're scaring the kids to tears," Lin Nian tried to plead. "Besides, the rehearsal is just for getting familiar with the camera positions, not the actual recording."
“Why? We’ve already rehearsed for three hours! Every time before, we do one take to familiarize ourselves with the camera positions, and then two takes to actually start! If we don’t do well, we can’t even say anything? If they want to hear someone coax them, they can just go back to their parents.” An Yi said he could never understand why he had to coax them. “Why do I have to coax them?”
"You..." Lin Nian choked for a moment.
What does their mood have to do with me?
As expected, An Yi is a man who never engages in internal strife.
They just go crazy and try to drain others.
"Wait a minute, Fang Xiaoke, you missed the camera again!" An Yi exclaimed anxiously. "Is a sense of camera presence really that hard to develop? Did you even think about it? What were you doing?"
Fang Xiaoke felt like he was doomed when the camera flashed red. He was so focused on making his dance look better that he didn't even notice the camera had moved past him. In other words, he couldn't multitask.
Lin Nian couldn't plead for him anymore; it was indeed a pretty basic mistake for an idol to miss the camera several times on stage.
Fang Xiaoke lowered her head, her face flushed red as if it were about to bleed, tears welling up in her eyes: "I'm sorry, I'm sorry."
Jin He stood at the back of the group, watching Fang Xiaoke bow repeatedly, then apologize to the trainees behind her. She sighed and said that Fang Xiaoke lacked stage experience and forgot everything when she got nervous.
An Yi is the same; the more you scold him, the more nervous he becomes, and the more nervous he becomes, the more he forgets. Isn't this a vicious cycle?
"Take a ten-minute break first, then I'll give you one last chance," An Yi said. "If you still can't remember, we'll have to replace you."
However, none of the trainees present had much stage experience. The only ones with experience were Xu Yuxiang and Wen Lian, but those two were Fang Xiaoke's competitors, so it was probably pointless for Fang Xiaoke to ask them.
He could only rely on his remaining memories to go through it again. When he was halfway through, stumbling along, he suddenly felt someone pat him on the back. He turned around and saw Jin He standing behind him, smiling at him.
"Brother Xiaohe." Fang Xiaoke couldn't hold back her tears when she saw Jin He. Yes! Jin He had performed on so many stages before, he must be very experienced.
Waaaaah, there's hope!
"Don't cry yet, you only have ten minutes." Jin He patted his shoulder. "I just roughly memorized your shot, it should be about right. Follow me and do it again."
Fang Xiaoke nodded with a wronged look and slowly followed Jin He's steps onto the stage. However, Jin He's dance movements were not very large, and he mostly just stood next to him, looking somewhat indifferent.
"For the butterfly step here, you don't need to look at the camera. Just keep your eyes fixed here. Yes, lower your head slightly... Here's a close-up, wink."
Jin He even taught her how to manage her facial expressions.
"Got it? Shall we do it again?"
Fang Xiaoke suddenly had a sudden realization, and she recited the rhythm again, and it was indeed much smoother than before.
Brother Xiaohe, you are my one and only god!
"Small……"
When Fang Xiaoke turned around, she found that Jin He had already returned to his seat. He was holding his thermos, unscrewing it and taking a sip before handing it to a staff member and standing there adjusting his headset.
"Let's do it again."
Fang Xiaoke took a deep breath. Xiao He had already guided him through it twice; he was sure he could pass smoothly! He remembered when to smile, when to look down, and when to wink!
"Keep an eye on those shots. When a red dot lights up, it means he's about to cut to a close-up. Don't overreact; just be aware of what's happening." Jin He's voice seemed to echo again. "You can be slightly out of breath during the ending pose, but don't breathe too heavily. Be restrained."
An Yi stood behind the screen and watched it again from beginning to end. Finally, he nodded and said, "This time it's okay. Class B and Class C didn't jump in sync. Zhang Huahua, you made a mistake in that movement. Do it again."
"Don't stay up too late, the kids are growing." Lin Nian stood up, picked up her coat, and dusted it off. "Your show doesn't allow cell phones, right? I won't leave Xiao He's contact information. Anyway, we'll be seeing each other again soon."
"Hurry up and leave." An Yi started to shoo them away, and Lin Nian turned around and glared at him.
The theme song rehearsal was finished at 3 a.m. Jin He had vowed before participating in the show that he would never be a "cursed king" (a term used to describe someone who is overly cautious or reluctant to work), and that everything was for his health. He would rest when he needed to and eat when he needed to. But unfortunately, he couldn't keep it up for more than a few days. He'll get used to it.
It seems my body has gotten used to it. Tonight I only felt a little tightness in my chest and was a bit out of breath after dancing. I didn't have angina. It's also possible that Jin He was already numb and didn't feel anything.
Jin He described this condition as "already improving and will recover soon."
But it was so late, and Jin He still felt a little hungry. Luckily, there was some leftover food from lunch in the lunchbox, so Jin He decided to find a microwave to heat it up.
"Oh, thank you so much, Brother Xiaohe~" As soon as they stepped out of the venue, Fang Xiaoke came up to them. "I don't know what I would have done without you. The center position might really have to be changed. You are so amazing. I will definitely disagree if anyone says you are useless in the future."
Jin He: "..."
"Your foundation got all over me."
You little brat, you repay kindness with enmity, don't you?
