"At the very least, maintain a facade of harmony."

Su Wantang spoke calmly.

Li Xiumei snorted coldly.

“My uncle has a tough job. He has to work and do scientific research, which is mentally taxing. He’s very tired every day. If you continue to target me, it will be difficult for him too. If you really love him, you should be understanding instead of causing him trouble and creating conflict.”

Li Xiumei snorted coldly, turned around and left.

Su Wantang wasn't sure if Li Xiumei had taken her words to heart.

At this moment, Qin Tian came out of the kitchen, carrying a bowl of white fungus and lotus seed soup.

"Xiao Tang, come and have some soup." He sat down next to Su Wantang. "Pregnant women need to supplement their nutrition."

Su Wantang took the bowl. "Uncle, about yesterday..."

"Don't mention yesterday." Qin Tian waved his hand. "What's past is past. Family members don't hold grudges overnight."

"You're still pregnant, don't even think about taking a break. You just need to eat and drink well and leave everything to your uncle."

Qin Tian said.

Lu Linchuan carefully selected goods in the Northwest Specialty Store. He bought high-quality goji berries, red dates, as well as local specialties such as beef jerky and dairy products.

Thinking of his sisters-in-law on the island, he picked out some finely packaged nuts and local snacks.

The shop owner enthusiastically introduced, "These are all our best local specialties; they're definitely presentable gifts."

Lu Linchuan nodded, "Pack them all up well, they're going to be shipped to another city."

When it came time to pay, he didn't use the money Su Wantang had given him, but instead used his own. He knew his wife's intentions, but as a husband, he should take responsibility for such matters.

He would find other ways to spend the money Su Wantang gave him on her.

Back at Qin Tian's house, Lu Linchuan spread out the things he had bought on the table for Su Wantang to see.

"Are these okay?" he asked for her opinion.

Su Wantang looked at the table full of local specialties and asked in surprise, "You bought so much?"

"Buy more for Mom and Dad; they're getting old and need some nourishment." Lu Linchuan started packing. "We can't skimp on what we buy for my sisters-in-law either; that would seem stingy."

Su Wantang helped him tidy up, feeling a sweet warmth in her heart. Although it was her request, seeing how carefully he selected the items made her feel that she had truly married the right person.

“When I get back, I’ll write them a letter myself,” Su Wantang said. “I’ll tell them we’re doing well here and not to worry.”

As Lu Linchuan filled out the shipping label, he nodded and said, "Write whatever you want. They'll be very happy to receive it."

While they were busy, Li Xiumei came out of the room. She glanced at the things on the table, and her expression instantly changed. (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
