"Come, come, sit down and eat!" He called to Su Wantang and Lu Linchuan. "Wantang, drink more of this fish soup. It's good for pregnant women. Linchuan, this spare rib is specially made for you. You're too thin."

He kept putting food into their bowls, as if trying to erase all the unpleasantness from earlier.

Watching her uncle's busy figure, Su Wantang felt a warmth in her heart. This is what family love is all about; no matter what storms you weather, there will always be someone willing to shelter you from the wind and rain.

"Xiao Tang, try it and see if it tastes good." Qin Tian looked at Su Wantang expectantly.

"Mmm." Su Wantang nodded, took a bite, and her eyes lit up. "It tastes great. Uncle, your cooking is excellent."

"That's right, I've been learning to cook and light fires since I was a child, so I've already honed my culinary skills," Qin Tian said with a smile.

The family sat together eating.

That evening, Qin Tian coaxed Li Xiumei and Xiao Feng back home.

Su Wantang breathed a sigh of relief upon learning that they had returned.

If something were to happen to Li Xiumei and Xiaofeng outside, it would be a real problem.

Now that she's back, she feels at ease.

The next morning, Su Wantang sat on the edge of the bed organizing her wallet and counting the cash inside.

"Lin Chuan, come here for a second." She beckoned to Lu Lin Chuan, who was washing up.

Lu Linchuan put down his toothbrush and walked over. "What's wrong?"

Su Wantang took out a few bills from her wallet and handed them to him, "Go buy some local specialties and send them to Mom and Dad. Also, send some to your sisters-in-law on the island."

Lu Linchuan looked at the money in her hand but didn't take it. "I have money."

“I know you have money, but this is my heart’s desire.” Su Wantang stuffed the money into his hand. “This is the first time I’ve sent them something, so of course I have to use my own money.”

She thought for a moment and added, "Buy some goji berries, red dates, beef jerky, and things like that. The quality here should be pretty good. For my sisters-in-law, I'll buy some local snacks; women love these things."

Lu Linchuan felt a warmth in his heart as he looked at his wife's earnest expression. Although she lacked affection from a young age, she always cared deeply for her family.

"Okay, I got it." He took the money and kissed her forehead lightly. "You rest well at home, I'll be back soon."

Su Wantang grabbed his hand, "Be careful on the road."

After Lu Linchuan left, Su Wantang stayed home reading. Last night, Li Xiumei returned home with a stern face and remained silent; her expression had become even more unpleasant.

Seeing that Su Wantang didn't give him a friendly look, Xiao Feng muttered under his breath, "Bad woman!"

Su Wantang glanced at Xiao Feng indifferently, knowing that this was probably taught by Li Xiumei, and she didn't take it to heart.

Su Wantang put down her book and said calmly, "Aunt."

"What is it?" Li Xiumei asked impatiently.

“I know you don’t approve of us, but we only have four days left before we leave,” Su Wantang said. “I hope that before then, we can all get along well.”
