Reading Settings
Lu Linchuan tried to adjust his expression, making his cold face less serious. He looked at the little woman beside him, and a smile unconsciously appeared on his lips.
Su Wantang nestled in the man's arms, tilting her head slightly towards him, and smiled gently.
"Crack!"
The flash went off, freezing this moment forever.
Back at the table, the female cadre had already taken out two brand-new little red books.
The staff member picked up the stamp, dipped it in red clay, and pressed it down heavily with two "bangs".
That sound was like a hammer blow to Lu Linchuan's heart, a final and decisive statement.
"Alright, congratulations to both of you."
The female cadre handed over two marriage certificates.
Lu Linchuan reached out and took the book that belonged to him, his fingertips trembling slightly.
The red cover and the three large gold-embossed words "Marriage Certificate" gleamed brightly in the light.
Lu Linchuan eagerly flipped to the page, and on the first page was the group photo they had just taken.
In the photo, he looks serious, but his gaze softens when he looks at the woman beside him.
Su Wantang's head was gently resting on his shoulder, and she smiled sweetly at the camera.
Next came their names, neatly printed on the paper.
Head of household: Lu Linchuan.
Wife: Su Wantang.
Those few simple words carried a tremendous weight. From this moment on, they were legally married, inseparable for life.
“Wantang…” Lu Linchuan carefully held the marriage certificate, his eyes fixed on Su Wantang, “From today onwards, you are my wife.”
"Hmm." Su Wantang raised her head and met the man's deep and unfathomable gaze.
His eyes were like a vast ocean, churning with too many obscure emotions: joy, cherishing, doting, tenderness, deep love for her, and a possessiveness that made her heart burn.
The way he looked at her was as if she were his possession.
He took her for himself.
"From now on, I'll call you my wife, okay?" The man's eyes were gentle as he gazed deeply at her.
A blush rose on Su Wantang's fair face, and she nodded, "Shout whatever you want."
"Wife?" The man's throat tightened, and he called out tentatively.
"Mmm." Su Wantang looked at him tenderly.
"Wife," the man called again, his deep, sexy voice full of tenderness.
"Sigh." Su Wantang smiled faintly.
For the first time in twenty-four years, Lu Linchuan felt a sense of complete satisfaction, as if his heart had been filled.
The person he had longed for for so many years, the little girl he cherished most, finally became his wife.
She is his.
The two walked out of the Civil Affairs Bureau hand in hand, the sunlight outside so bright it was almost dazzling.
The man's large, dry hands, covered with thin calluses, gave people a sense of peace of mind.
Lu Linchuan smiled, pulled her to a popsicle vendor not far away, and bought a bright red hawthorn-flavored ice cream.
"Here, let's celebrate."
Su Wantang took the hawthorn ice cream, took a bite, and the sourness of the hawthorn and the coolness of the ice cream blended perfectly together, exploding on her taste buds.
She smiled and held the ice cream to Lu Linchuan's lips: "You have some too."
Lu Linchuan took a bite from her hand, staring intently at her, making Su Wantang's cheeks burn. She quickly turned her head away.
The two walked back slowly, hand in hand, eating ice cream one bite at a time.
At this moment, they both felt happiness and peace in their hearts. (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
