"Second sister-in-law, isn't it too late to sever ties now?"

Fang Yi's lips curled into a faint smile, a smile that carried a hint of amusement and provocation, as if it were a disdainful laugh at all things in the world, or perhaps an anticipation of a good show that was about to unfold.

“You…” He Qiaoling choked.

Fang Yi twitched her lips again, "Second sister-in-law, instead of trying to distance yourself, why don't you think about what you can do to atone for your sins?"

He Qiaoling paused for a few seconds and looked at Sang Yuwan.

Sang Yuwan's eyes seemed frozen, radiating a chilling aura that was difficult to look directly at. Even when a smile played on her lips, it never reached her eyes.

Fang Yi spoke up, "Second sister-in-law, what other plans does Young Master Shen have? You can tell the head of the family..."

"Shut up!" He Qiaoling shuddered and growled through gritted teeth.

Fang Yi's face darkened, and she glared at her irritably. "Hmph. I'm just trying to be helpful, but you don't appreciate it."

He Qiaoling's face turned pale and her lips turned purple. "You're so kind, huh..."

Fang Yi glared at her and then simply stepped aside.

Sang Yuwan released her grip, leaned back on the sofa, and said with a stern expression, "Second Aunt, it's fine if you don't want to say anything. I know exactly what Shen Yilin is planning to do."

He Qiaoling's face suddenly changed, turning pale and then flushed. "You knew all that? How is that possible?"

Fang Yi interjected, "You really underestimated her."

He Qiaoling's heart trembled, and an indescribable fear surged within her, like an invisible hand in the darkness tightly gripping her throat, suffocating her.

Sang Yuwan's eyes narrowed, a ruthless glint appearing in them. "Second Aunt, go back and tell Second Uncle. Those who do many evil deeds will surely perish. Heaven's sins may be forgiven, but self-inflicted sins cannot be escaped."

He Qiaoling felt a chill spread from the soles of her feet to her whole body, and she trembled involuntarily.

Seeing this, Fang Yi curled her lips.

"Third Aunt, you should go down too," Sang Yuwan said coldly.

Fang Yi bit her lip, hesitated for two seconds, and said, "Patriarch, may I see my Xinglan?"

Sang Yuwan coldly refused, "You'd better not bother her."

Fang Yi's eyes reddened as she listened. "Then please tell her to eat well and sleep well..."

Sang Yuwan seemed to have run out of patience and interrupted sharply, "I don't need you to tell me, I will take good care of her."

After saying that, she stood up and swept her sharp gaze over He Qiaoling and Fang Yi. "Go down."

Fang Yi raised her head and glanced at the second floor, a faint mist rising in her eyes.

-

As Sang Yu went upstairs that evening, she whispered to the shadows behind the pillar, "Come out."

Bo Xinglan stepped out from behind the pillar. "Sister-in-law."

Sang Yuwan asked her, "You heard everything?"

Bo Xinglan pursed her lips and nodded.

Sang Yuwan pushed open the door to the greenhouse on the second floor. "Come in and talk."

"Mmm." Bo Xinglan responded softly and followed her inside.

Sang Yuwan walked to the small stove, wanting to pour herself a cup of hot water.

"Sister-in-law, let me do it." Bo Xinglan hurriedly ran over and grabbed the glass kettle from the small stove first.

Sang Yuwan pulled out a chair and sat down, her brow furrowing slightly. "Xinglan, what are your thoughts on what happened today?"

Bo Xinglan placed the teacup down and handed it to her, then silently sat down beside her. Yu Jie blinked, her voice soft, "I never imagined Uncle's scheming was so deep?"

Sang Yuwan curled her lips into a half-smile, "They say like father, like son, and your elder brother is no ordinary person either."

Bo Xinglan's expression suddenly changed, and her voice trembled violently, "Sister-in-law, could it be that my brother is not dead?"

Sang Yuwan's eyes flickered slightly, and her smile deepened a little. "Xinglan, do you think he faked his death?"

Bo Xinglan's face paled instantly, as if swept by a winter's chill, losing all color and turning as white as paper. Her lips trembled slightly, revealing a hint of barely concealed panic or unease.

She stammered, "I...I just...just said it casually..."

Sang Yuwan narrowed her eyes. "It's not impossible."

Bo Xinglan's expression changed drastically in an instant, her eyes shifting from calm as water to a turbulent sea, her pupils flashing with astonishment and confusion. "Sister-in-law, I was just talking nonsense, you..."

Sang Yuwan's expression was calm, her voice clear and cold, and she said, word by word, "Xinglan, your elder brother and I are not actually husband and wife."

Bo Xinglan was struck dumb, her expression changing drastically. Her face turned from red to white, her lips lost all color, and her eyes widened, filled with shock and fear.

After a long pause, she managed to say with difficulty, "Sister-in-law, what do you mean by that?"

Sang Yuwan took two sips of the hot tea, but a chill still ran through her. Even her bones felt cold, the cold seeping into her limbs and making her shiver.

She smiled at Bo Xinglan and said in a low voice, "Your older brother doesn't like women."

The seven simple words exploded in Bo Xinglan's mind, her heart skipped a beat, and she sat there stiffly. Her hands unconsciously gripped the hem of her clothes, and her whole body trembled slightly.

Sang Yuwan looked at her, her gaze gradually becoming somewhat complicated.

This secret weighed on her heart like a boulder.

She couldn't bring herself to say it.

I don't know what's wrong with me today, but I said it so easily.

She seemed to have overlooked Bo Xinglan's feelings.

When Bo Xingzhi was alive, he cared about this cousin quite a bit. So, even though she had a gentle personality, no one dared to bully her.

After a long while, Bo Xinglan's eyes widened, brimming with tears. Her lips parted slightly, but she couldn't utter a single word.

"Xinglan, I know you can't process this right away. It's okay, just pretend I never said this to you." Sang Yuwan narrowed her eyes and smiled faintly.

Bo Xinglan looked at her, her voice light and airy, "Sister-in-law, my brother seems to treat you very well, how could he..."

Sang Yuwan's gaze darkened slightly. "Xinglan, your elder brother's scheming skills are in no way inferior to your uncle's. Everything he did to me was nothing but a facade."

"An illusion?" Bo Xinglan's heart clenched, and she felt as if she had fallen into an ice cellar. After a few seconds, she said incredulously, "This is too fair to you..."

"Fairness?" Sang Yuwan's lips curled into a cold smile, like a sudden gust of winter wind, carrying a subtle chill and contempt. "When it comes to interests, where is fairness? Take today's matter, for example, didn't your second uncle scheme against you too?"

Bo Xinglan's heart pounded wildly in her chest, each beat feeling like it was about to break free of her ribs, bringing a sharp pain. Sweat began to trickle uncontrollably from her forehead, dripping down her cheeks and soaking her clothes, but she was completely unaware of it.

A few minutes later.

Bo Xinglan's pupils suddenly contracted, "My older brother likes men, and the child in your belly, sister-in-law..."
