Chapter 35 is a lie, right? Is he really an alchemist?

Constance's craftsmanship was purely earthly; he quickly taught Billis how to use the toolbox and when to oil the levers so that the robotic arm wouldn't overheat due to overload.
Constance tiptoed in and out of the cockpit dozens of times, no longer treating the guest as an outsider. He repeatedly told Biris, "I think we've done our best, but we still can't figure out what's wrong. The internal structure of this mech is messed up. It needs to consume some kind of energy to fully start the machine, but we don't have that kind of thing here."
"Wait a minute, isn't this a golem?"
"When did I say it was a golem?"
"Doesn't this place say 'Golem's Golem Museum'?"
Constance only heard half a sentence, then went outside to find a tool basket and took out many things from its usual small basket: a huge sun hat, deformed sheet metal, a broken axe handle, and stones stuck together like candy. But it didn't have the energy needed to start the mech.
"I'll go outside and look for other alternative energy sources."
"You can't leave a passenger in the cockpit!"
But Constance completely disregarded Billis's words.
The cockpit of the mech was unbearably hot. Directly in front of them was a screen with a dim light, but no image was displayed. Two control sticks hung down from above, and a human had to stand on tiptoe to reach them. The third control stick seemed to be a spare, and even when Billis stood on tiptoe, he couldn't reach it.
The control panel was already in the optimal position, but the seat cushion wasn't. Billis stood up and pulled the lever once, but there was no response. He pulled it a second time, but still no response. Frustrated, he pressed every button he could, but nothing happened.
Billy stomped hard on the screen in front of him, and suddenly a metal box popped out from the bottom of the control panel. The box was turned to the side and fit snugly against Billy's stomach.
He examined the metal box but found no special buttons. Suddenly, he remembered that Constance had said that the machine needed some kind of energy to start, and the size of the metal box was just about the same as the magic core.
Carrying the iron box, Billis left the stuffy cockpit, only to find that he and his wife were the only ones left in the stone chamber.
Where did they go?
"Constance called them both away, saying he was going to find something and would be right back."
"I think this is a very unreliable store."
What are you holding in your hand?
"I found it in the cockpit. Maybe it's the key to start the mech. There was a beautiful glass ball in the metal box. It felt a little hot to the touch, but the glass ball was empty."
"Let me see it."
Lisa held the glass ball in her hand and gently blew a breath into it. The gray-black glass ball became bright again, and small flames rolled along the glass wall, burning brighter and brighter.
"Honey, what are you doing?"
"If I'm not mistaken, this machine is powered by heat, so I added some hellfire to it. Now let's put it back together."
Billis returned to the cockpit and put the burning metal box back in its place.
The machine's eyes suddenly lit up, and Constance had said that the levers were used to control the hands and feet, but he hadn't specified the function of the buttons.
Billy tried all the buttons and found that the red button controlled his body, the blue button was for blocking forward, the green button was for diving, and the yellow button seemed to be some kind of catapult.
The black button in the middle was smaller than the other four. Billy touched it lightly and heard the sound of a blower, followed by a burnt smell. The large pot in front of the screen turned red with fire. It turned out that the black button controlled the gunpowder.
Oh no, I have to get the house cleaned up before Constance gets back.
However, everything this machine did was aimed at destruction. It tore a hole in the roof of the stone chamber, smashed the walls to stop the stones from falling, and also destroyed the three pools of light. Finally, it even sat on the cauldron and split it in two.
Billy jumped out of the spinning cockpit, feeling dizzy and disoriented.
"Oh dear, where am I? This is no fun at all!"
"Look what you've done. Let's hurry up and leave before Constance gets back."
"Hold me up, no, no, where's the door?"
Billy vomited up everything in his stomach.
Just then, Constance returned with his toolbox. When he saw that the black mech was about to dismantle the stone chamber, he was not angry at all, but rather extremely excited.
"Did you do this?" Constance asked Billis.
While vomiting, Billis explained, "You didn't say this thing was a weapon."
"Without you! I'd probably still be stuck in the cockpit worrying right now! Where did you find this energy alternative?"
"I... vomit..."
"Fine, if you don't want to talk about it, then you'll have to repay me by fixing my machine. You can choose any of the thirty mechs in the store!"
"Wait, wait a minute, is this really not the Golem Museum?"
"I was just about to cancel that name because golems don't sell as well as mechs. Thank goodness! I actually managed to find a customer who's really into golems."
"I want to find someone to make a body double."
"Why didn't you say so sooner?"
"You don't have time for me to speak."
"What a joyous day! You've come to the right place, Lovefire! Iron Helmet! Take our benefactor to that room, and remember, do not take the waterway."
Lovefire and Iron Helmet are nicknames for Tiger Girl and Pike the Elf, and these two are essentially Constance's assistants for most of the time.
The Billies, warmly welcomed by Constance, arrived at a platform where a sundial was placed. There was no bridge, and all around was a deep abyss where one could not see one's hand in front of one's face. The waterfall could be heard but not seen. Two ivory-like pillars protruded from the darkness, and the water, which looked like a ribbon, bulged out to the sides, eventually tearing a gap.
A floating bridge covered in ripples appeared, with a stone head far removed from elegance growing at its head, along with octopus tentacles and eyes. The bridge was much wider than the stone chamber, wide enough for three four-wheeled carriages to walk side by side.
Two tin men, each wielding a metal sword, approached the sundial. They were over ten meters tall and looked like two mobile fortresses.
Pixie explained, "These two big guys lived here before Constance made the dungeon her home. Despite their ugly appearance, they can distinguish between intruders and friends. Back then, Constance was so scared by these two guys that she wet her pants."
"Constance is a reincarnated being, how did he become friends with you?"
“Well, because he married the steward’s daughter.” The Pike elf nodded at the tiger girl and continued, “The steward is my friend, one of the guardians of ancient Podrolott, and also the one who taught the Constance golem the technology.”
Is he still there?
"Right beside you, he infused his soul into these two towering golems. One could say that the ancient Podrolites learned the method of immortality from the prophet, even though this method makes the immortal no longer appear as a living being."
"These two big guys are the butlers?"
"In order to protect the underground city, the butler can never leave here, and this is the only way."
As the elf Pixie spoke, two giant golems escorted the guests across the bridge. At the end of the bridge, the Billies saw the same octopus head as at the beginning of the bridge.
Biris asked the elf Pik why there were such ugly heads everywhere in the dungeon. Just as the elf Pik was about to answer, Constance walked out of the stone chamber in front of him.
He answered for the Pike elf: "They are the prophets that the ancient Podrolites saw. Prophets represent wisdom. It was the prophets who imparted knowledge to the ancient humans and taught them how to make golems to fight against high-magic species. In addition, the eternal life of the soul is also the earliest way to achieve immortality. However, this technology has been lost with the elimination of golems. My father-in-law, who is also the butler, may be the last person to use the eternal life of the soul."
"He won't feel lonely or empty, right?"
"He turned himself into a tomb keeper, never to leave the underground city."
"Although one cannot feel the pain of death, eternal loneliness is more painful than death."
“It’s not a wonderful thing for a soul to live forever. Good that you understand that. Please come with me and let’s see what kind of golem you need.”
