"My dearest lady, please open the door! I beg you, let me in." Billy pleaded at the door for an hour, displaying all sorts of comical expressions. "My love! Please grant me a divine decree, I will do anything to open the door!"

Lisa, however, rudely and loudly contradicted him from inside: "Young Mr. Billis, why don't you just go and find another woman to live with?"

These words were like a powerful bomb, shattering Billy's heart.

He dragged his heavy steps, slumped onto the sofa, and racked his brains for ways to please his wife.

The angel sat on the front terrace, wearing a pale blue velvet dress that tightly hugged her slender figure, her arms and neck bare, as pure as white jade.

This is probably the second reason why Lisa was angry!

Fortunately, Billis wasn't so easily bewitched by Mia and the angels that he lost his mind; he was a noble warrior of pure love.

An hour passed, and Billis still hadn't found a way to please his wife.

The angel pointed to the flowerpots on the opposite balcony and said one word: "Flower".

That's right! It's fresh flowers!

Billis dressed again, tightened his belt, put on his leather hat, and went out.

As soon as he stepped outside, he bumped into a little girl selling gifts. The gifts in the girl's hands were tied with ribbons in various colors.

The girl seemed to read Billy's mind and asked with a smile, "Sir, would you like to buy one for your loved one?"

What's in here?

"Sir? Don't you know what day it is today?"

"Valentine's Day? Or some other holiday?"

"Ha, sir, if you really don't know what day it is today, then you should buy one even more!"

Billis had no idea what day it was. He paid five silver coins for the prettiest box, but the little girl handed Billis the largest gift box instead.

Billie said he would have to spend money in other stores, so he didn't want to buy the biggest gift, but the little girl said all the gifts were the same price.

The gift boxes varied in size, so how could they possibly be the same price? He was worried that the little girl was trying to trick him.

The little girl deftly tossed the large gift box to Billies, as if completing a task assigned by her owner, and then ran away in the blink of an eye.

The gift box wasn't heavy, and there was still a lot of space inside that hadn't been filled. Just as Billy was about to open it, he suddenly heard a loud bang. It turned out that someone had set off fireworks and cannons in the distance.

Seeing the colorful balloons rising from the balconies of every household, Billy realized what day it was.

Today is the last day of the eighth year of the Great Reboot, and tomorrow is the new year.

It's New Year's in another world.

A handsome young man walked down the main street of Queensshire, and even ghosts, who were usually reluctant to show their faces, came out to roam.

Dwarves tied gifts to their proud beards, elves smeared gunpowder on their bows and arrows, and shot colorful fireworks into the sky. Goblins gave away small gifts for free, orcs and trolls beat drums, and half-reincarnated humans danced together. The lively atmosphere spread throughout the streets and alleys of Queen County.

A beautiful fairy of light asked Billy to dance, but Billy said he already had an appointment and turned left onto Queen's Road to find a flower shop to buy flowers.

Unfortunately, the flower shop owners all closed early today to celebrate the holiday.

Billis had no choice but to carry the gift box across the main road, over the small bridge, and onto a winding path that led to the hills that rose high on the plain, with dense walnut tree branches intertwined along the way, forming a dark and vast sky overhead.

But Billy didn't notice the bushes laden with ripe fruit; he only saw the clear, bottomless starry sky, where stars stretched across the entire universe, forming a shimmering silver ribbon in the heavens.

He recognized the nearest constellation; it was Gemini, the constellation farthest from Earth.

It was already evening, and the billions of stars in the night sky illuminated the garden path. There were countless small platforms around the garden for people to rest, and the platforms were surrounded by a low stone wall. Although the building was quite old, quite a few daring people still liked to leave their footprints on the wall to show that they had been there.

Heading west from the initial fork in the road, the scenery is exactly the same, making you wonder if you're standing still. Looking back, there's no road ahead; looking forward, you can't see the end, as if you're walking on the back of a dragon.

Silver butterflies emerged from the blooming rose bushes, and several ferrets brought tortoise shells filled with pearls to the strangers.

Just as Billis was about to pick roses, a huge fog appeared, making it impossible to see the road ahead. Sometimes he would step on something smooth, thinking it was a snake, but it turned out to be a rustling insect with the belly of a firefly. Its two antennae crossed over its enormous abdomen, which was very smooth, making it look like a moving, glowing mirror.

Since Billy was missing a streetlamp, he boldly followed the thing down the path. Fortunately, the creature was a natural guide, carefully illuminating every spot so that Billy would know that blue plants were growing nearby.

One type of flower has a stamen with an outer layer resembling a fibrous spider web, inside which are golden fireflies.

Billy immediately thought it was the best gift for his wife, since the plant grew in a thicket of thorns, so he had to hold onto something while reaching for it.

Suddenly, a pack of dogs started barking. Beris jumped in fright, took a step forward, and his right foot slipped into empty air—there was nothing below!

In his attempt to catch the gift box, he crashed into the woven plant totem, the raised part of which pierced his thigh.

"Oh! Damn it!"

Billy cursed and then sat up, unable to get up.

At this moment, he wasn't thinking about his injuries, but rather complaining about why he had been reborn as the most mediocre human, a Fa'an. He wished he had been reborn as a species unafraid of thorns.

Cheers echoed from the town to this place. There was no bright light or wind; countless balloons were offered up to the sky as if an entire battalion of soldiers were there to welcome the emperor's triumphant return.

Before Billy was ready to go home, a leaf flew from nowhere and kissed his neck. He thought it was just an insignificant leaf, but in a short time, his breathing became quite rapid.

Something has infected the wound!

"These leaves are poisonous!" he thought, and then fell into a deep sleep.

A loud cannon salute quickly woke Billy. Because the poison had not yet subsided, he could not make a sound, and could only move his eyes, which he used to catch the blurry scene.

“My God! What are you doing here?” Billis exclaimed.

The angel crouched less than an inch away from him, saying nothing, as if he had kissed Billy while he was asleep, feeling bewildered and extremely embarrassed!

Her heart was so innocent that no man who saw her could resist such an angel.

But Billy seemed to be holding on. He got up, thinking that he must not let his wife misunderstand again.

The miracle happened in an extremely short time; the wound healed at an astonishing speed, as if the injury had come from the brain itself.

Billis asked, "Did you heal me just now?"

"Healing," the angel replied shyly, her voice so soft it seemed she was only speaking to herself.

"Did Lisa send you?"

"benefactor."

"She's not angry with me anymore?"

"angry."

Since Billis was still unable to communicate normally with the angels, she had to be sent back first.

As Xingchen headed north, the road back was somewhat different from before. No tree was short anymore, and no bird could fly over the treetops.

Billy was very disappointed because he couldn't pick the flower. He walked back and forth in the woods for an hour but couldn't find a flower to replace it.

Although flowers on the ground are hard to find, fireworks in the sky appear frequently, one after another, vividly turning night into day, and beneath the blazing flowers, there is always a dance of shooting stars spinning endlessly.

Upon seeing the enviable dance, Billis was reminded of Lisa.

"Oh, I didn't get any flowers, but thankfully I still have gift boxes."

Billis comforted himself all the way home, and it was already very late when he got there.

Perhaps they were starving, because as soon as they entered, they smelled the aroma of food wafting from the second floor.

Candlelight illuminated the room on the second floor. The stand-in's workbench had been moved into the room and joined with another table to form a large table, which was covered with a platter of braised meat, sashimi, desserts, carrots with tarragon, cheese, and fruit salad.

Billy was shocked. He never imagined that his wife had secretly prepared so many delicious dishes after he left, and they were all his favorites!

The thirty-five candles on the table were neatly arranged in a circle, with an empty table in the middle, presumably for placing the cake. The size of the table was about the same as the gift box in Billis's hand.

Upon opening the gift box, there was indeed a large cake inside, with a few words written by Lisa herself: "Dedicated to the person I love most in the world, Happy Birthday."

Something that shouldn't be in my eyes appeared; it burst forth and flowed at an unimaginable speed.

Billy held his head in his hands and knelt down beside the chair.

The angel, who was observing from the side, immediately learned something from the couple.

This is probably what love is.
