The original owner remembered it very clearly.
Mu Qing didn't mind fulfilling her filial duty on behalf of the original owner's mother.
Mu Qing: "Go to the Bai residence. My maternal grandfather is Bai He."
Grandpa Bai is very well-known in Anyang Town, and I found out about him as soon as I asked.
Standing before the vermilion gate, Mu Qing felt a mix of trepidation and a sense of returning home. He seemed unprepared to face Old Master Bai.
An Yi stepped forward and knocked on the door. After a while, a servant came and opened the door. Looking at the two tall men in black and the short man with his head covered outside, he was a little scared and worried that they were up to no good.
An Yi: "Please inform him that Young Master Mu Qing from the capital has come to visit Master Bai He."
Xiao Si said, "Okay, okay, please wait a moment..." After saying that, he closed the door and turned to go inside to report.
They encountered Butler Bai on the way.
Butler Bai: "A-Zhuang, why are you running?"
A-Zhuang: "Butler Bai, someone has come to visit. They say it's Young Master Mu Qing from the capital."
Upon hearing this, Butler Bai said urgently, "Who did you say came? Say it again."
A-Zhuang: "The visitor said he was Young Master Mu Qing from the capital."
Butler Bai: "Where is he? Hurry, take me there! Come on, go open the door, it's the young master back."
Butler Bai had spent his entire life in the Bai family mansion, watching Bai's mother grow up. He had a deep affection for the Bai family, and upon hearing that Mu Qing had returned, he happily wiped away his tears of excitement.
Mu Qing waited a little while and saw the door open again.
Butler Bai: "Young Master Mu Qing, you're finally back..."
The voice arrives before the person is seen.
Butler Bai glanced at the three people outside, his gaze finally settling on Mu Qing, who was wearing a hood.
Mu Qing recalled for a moment and said, "Grandpa Butler, it's me. I've come back to see you."
In the original owner's memories, he regarded this old man who had spent his whole life in the Bai family as a family member.
Butler Bai: "It's good that you're back, it's good that you're back, come in quickly."
Mu Qing: "Grandpa Butler, these two are the friends who escorted me back."
Butler Bai: "Very well, very well, please come in, distinguished guests..."
An Yi and An Er nodded without refusing, and politely said, "We've troubled you."
The group entered the Bai residence together. Mu Qing breathed a slight sigh of relief, thinking to herself, "He should just pretend to be Mu Qing now."
It felt like some invisible shackles had disappeared, and I felt a sense of relief.
Mu Qing: "Grandpa Butler, where's Grandpa?"
Butler Bai: "Master caught a cold, and after hearing about your mother's situation this afternoon, he hasn't had dinner yet and has gone to bed."
Mu Qing: "Can you take me to see my grandfather?"
Butler Bai: "Of course, come with me. Ah Zhuang, go tell the kitchen to prepare food."
A-Zhuang: "Yes."
After passing the long corridor and the pavilion in the middle of the lake, you arrive at Master Bai's room.
Butler Bai hurried over and knocked on the door, saying, "Master, Master, Young Master Mu Qing is here..."
With that, he pushed open the door and went inside.
Master Bai stared blankly at the doorway. Mu Qing followed Butler Bai into the room and saw an old man in his forties or fifties with a few strands of white hair around his ears. He looked at Mu Qing with a loving smile on his face and tears in his eyes. He opened his mouth but choked up and couldn't say a word.
Mu Qing felt a lump in her throat and quickly walked to the bedside. She threw herself into Old Master Bai's arms and called out repeatedly, "Grandpa, Grandpa... it's alright, I'm back, I've come to be with you. Grandpa, don't cry, don't be sad."
Hearing Mu Qing's words, Old Master Bai could no longer hold back and burst into tears while holding his grandson in his arms.
Butler Bai was also wiping away tears beside him.
Mu Qing knew that crying would be better for the old man, so she didn't stop him. She just gently patted Grandpa Bai's back, softly repeating, "Grandpa, don't be sad. It's all over, it's all over..."
