Extra Chapter 3: Niu Niu's Story (1/2)
Reading Settings
When I wrote about Niu Niu, the children were already in high school.
When Niu Niu was little, she was physically weak and had a rather introverted personality. Overall, she was a well-behaved child, but not as outstanding as her older brothers and sisters.
But when she got to high school, Niu Niu's talent began to shine.
She is now a self-published author and regularly submits manuscripts to various publishing houses.
During exam week, Niu Niu would start reviewing for exams and would stop writing for a while. People from newspapers and publishing houses would call her home to solicit articles.
Grandpa Gu was worried that it would interfere with the children's studies, so he told them to call back after the exams.
Niu Niu also has the best academic performance among the three siblings.
My brother was interested in physics, and my sister was interested in foreign languages. They were both very active and spent all their time running between the physics institute and the foreign language association. Their heavy high school workload caused them to miss a lot of class time, and their grades were barely average.
Niu Niu is different. Her biggest hobby since she was a child is reading. She reads all kinds of books and is basically knowledgeable about everything from astronomy to geography.
Even Grandpa Gu, who has lived most of his life, can't match Niu Niu's knowledge reserves.
Niu Niu always gets first place in the school in a test, no matter how casually she takes it.
After showing off his eldest grandson and then his second daughter, Grandpa Gu was still busy when he started showing off his youngest granddaughter.
"My little granddaughter is a natural learner; she picks up any knowledge as soon as she learns it, as if it's effortless for her."
And here she is again number one in the whole school. I've told her not to work so hard, but it seems like she doesn't spend much time studying.
I send several manuscripts to the publisher every month, and the published books are very popular. I'm making money on my own now.
My granddaughter has never caused the family any worry since she was little. She's so sensible and so smart.
The grandparents in the compound were incredibly envious; the Gu family had three such remarkable children.
Isn't that infuriating?
Before, Grandpa Zhao could only envy Grandpa Gu, but now he finally has a great-grandson to hold himself.
"Old Gu, do you think my grandson will be as successful as Tuantuan, Mengmeng, and Niuniu in the future?"
At this point, Grandpa Gu stopped putting on airs and said, "Of course you can. You look like a smart kid."
Grandpa Zhao was happy and told his grandson, who couldn't speak yet, to visit Grandpa Gu's house more often to play with his older siblings.
Before we knew it, all three children had finished their college entrance exams.
For the past few days, Lin Han had been waiting at home to receive her college acceptance letter, rushing out to check at the slightest sound of movement at the door.
"Is the person delivering the admission notice here?"
The postman, carrying a bag and riding a bicycle, came towards the Gu family's house. Lin Han excitedly went inside to call Gu Qizheng.
"Honey, the kids' college acceptance letter has arrived, hurry up!"
The postman cheerfully pulled three pieces of mail from his bag.
"Congratulations! We received three emails from your family."
Lin Han's hands were trembling as she excitedly opened the email.
Open it and take a look.
“Niu Niu got into the Chinese Literature Department of Peking University, wow, that’s amazing.”
"Tuantuan went to the University of Science and Technology to study physics, and Mengmeng also got into the foreign language university she had always wanted to attend."
"That's wonderful, that's wonderful! The children have all gotten good results."
