"Drink these two bottles today, and drink the other two when your baby turns one month old."
Huo Qizheng took the wine. "I can decide which two bottles to drink today. As for the other two, it depends on whether my wife is willing. I can't take away her pain of childbirth, so I can't force her to have a child when she's not ready."
Qin Shuman nodded, "Yes, Xiao Huo is right. Childbirth is not easy for women. It has to be something Hanhan is willing to do."
When Gu Huaiming and Qin Shuman arrived, Liu Jiang and his men had already set up the tables and chairs.
There were two tables in the living room and one in the yard. Each table could seat ten people, which was just enough for the guests we invited today.
After greeting Gu Huaiming, Huo Qizheng went to the kitchen.
Qin Shuman and Lin Han chatted in the living room.
"Hanhan, isn't Xiao Huo good to you? He didn't let you lift a finger at this banquet today. He's a caring guy."
Lin Han was also very satisfied with Huo Qizheng; she felt that having a husband seemed pretty good.
"He's a good guy, he takes good care of me, and he always insists on doing the housework so that I don't get tired."
Aunt Qin, don't worry, I'm doing very well.
Qin Shuman held Lin Han's hand, her eyes filled with tears, as if she were giving away her daughter's hand in marriage today, with a touch of sadness.
"That's good, that's good."
Lin Han made Qin Shuman happy, and the two chatted and laughed in the living room.
About ten minutes later, Huo Qizheng came out of the kitchen after finishing cooking.
"Everyone, please take your seats. We can start eating now."
Sister Wang and Sister Zhang helped bring the dishes to the table, while Liu Jiang and several soldiers helped distribute the bowls and chopsticks.
Gu Huaiming and Qin Shuman sat at the main table, and Huo Qizheng pulled Lin Han to sit down next to Qin Shuman.
Liu Jiang and other soldiers of lower rank sat at the lower table, while their family members sat at a table further away from the people drinking.
Huo Qizheng prepared a sumptuous meal, including braised pork ribs, spicy stir-fried chicken, steamed pork with rice flour, pickled fish, braised pork, three vegetable dishes, two cold dishes, and a peanut dish.
It looked delicious and smelled wonderful, and the men present were full of admiration, while the family members were extremely envious of Lin Han.
As soon as they entered Lin Han's house, they were amazed by her garden. Although they had yards, they just grew vegetables, raised chickens, and piled up odds and ends, while Lin Han's yard was like a garden, arranged in a beautiful and orderly way.
This made them want to go home and tidy up the yard again.
Once inside the living room, one's eyes are glued to Lin Han's furniture: solid wood tables, chairs, cabinets, and fabric sofas.
They had never seen such a beautiful green sofa before.
The overall layout is exquisite and elegant, but it doesn't appear too luxurious or extravagant. All the little details are just right.
Just after admiring the furnishings of Lin Han's house, I saw Commander Huo cooking alone in the kitchen, while Lin Han sat on the sofa chatting with Section Chief Qin.
This made them incredibly envious; which family has a man who does the cooking?
When they get back, they should train their husbands a bit, and see how well Commander Huo treats his wife.
Even though he was the one doing the work, he was so afraid that Lin Han would get tired. When he cut up the fruit and brought it out to Lin Han's side, he was worried that his own smell would bother her.
Look, look, this is the kind of man who's going to settle down and live a good life.
Several of the sisters-in-law had never met Lin Han before; they had only heard that she was a capitalist's daughter and had a bad family background.
Some people say that capitalists' daughters are just pretentious, unable to lift a finger, and only know how to enjoy themselves all day long.
When they arrived, they were reluctant to talk to Lin Han, afraid they couldn't stand the spoiled attitude of the capitalist's daughter.
