"Honey, did you stay at Section Chief Qin's house while I was unconscious?"

Lin Han nodded, "Yes, Aunt Qin and I are close friends despite our age difference. We have a very good relationship, and Aunt Qin's family takes good care of me."

Huo Qizheng nodded, "After I'm discharged from the hospital, I'll personally bring a gift to thank them. I'm much more at ease knowing they're here."

Lin Han had previously said that she was forced to marry in someone else's place, which made Huo Qizheng feel very upset.

"Honey, are your family members treating you badly? Do they often bully you?"

Lin Han sighed and told Huo Qizheng everything the original owner had experienced in the Lin family. The man's eyes reddened.

"What...what are you sad about? That's all in the past. I've gotten my revenge, and none of them got away with it. I'm not someone you can bully."

Huo Qizheng pulled her into his arms with a tender feeling.

"It's all my fault. If I had gone to the Lin family to pick you up sooner, you wouldn't have suffered so much."

Lin Han was a little breathless from being hugged so tightly, and after struggling a couple of times, she adjusted herself to a more comfortable position.

"It's not your fault. If you had gone to the Lin family earlier, I wouldn't be the one marrying you. They just disliked you because you were injured and about to die... I didn't mean to curse you..."

Huo Qizheng buried his head in Lin Han's neck and rubbed his nose against her collarbone.

"God still has mercy on me, allowing me to meet you after surviving a near-death experience."

Lin Han was somewhat moved. She could feel that Huo Qizheng genuinely cared for her. The feeling of being cared for was unfamiliar to her, but she felt quite good about it.

"Huo Qizheng, I have no family left. From now on, you will be my only family."

Huo Qizheng buried his head and let a tear fall into Lin Han's neck.

He was an orphan, but he never felt that not having family was a big deal. He believed that he could still serve his country and achieve his goals through his own efforts.

But when Lin Han said she had no family left, his heart ached.

She's such a delicate and weak girl; how much suffering must she have endured to be able to so calmly say something as heartbreaking as saying she has no family left?

"From now on, I will be your family, and I will give you a home."

Lin Han felt a wet touch on her neck and wondered why this person suddenly started crying.

In the afternoon, Huo Qizheng's comrades came to visit him. Lin Han didn't recognize any of them except Liu Jiang, so he said he would go back first.

Huo Qizheng held her hand and said, "Yes, you should go back and rest first. I don't need anyone to take care of me right now. You don't need to work so hard."

The people who came to visit were not able to fully relax because Lin Han was there. As soon as Lin Han left, they started joking with Huo Qizheng.

"Commander Huo is so lucky. You have such a beautiful wife. Your family is the only one like her in our military compound."

"It's not just the family compound, you can't find a sister-in-law as beautiful as her in the entire military region. Commander Huo, don't let your legs go weak during training the next day if you can't control yourself every night, hahaha."

Huo Qizheng knew these people meant no harm, but he still didn't want anyone to make fun of Lin Han.

"My wife is shy and easily embarrassed. Please don't make jokes like that anymore, or the young lady will feel awkward."

"Yes, we won't say anything like that again."

After chatting with Huo Qizheng for a while, the group didn't disturb him too much. After all, this was a hospital, and the main purpose was to recuperate in peace and quiet. It wouldn't be good for a bunch of them to stay here for too long.
