Sister-in-law Li jumped up from the stool.
"What nonsense are you spouting? My daughter is a college graduate from medical school. How could she possibly seduce a married man? If you keep talking nonsense, I'll tear your mouth apart."
Now, not only did no one pay attention to Lin Han's status as a capitalist's daughter, but they also started gossiping about He Jingjing's seduction of men.
Lin Han sat down on the stool, her expression indifferent.
"You think there was no seduction? If I'm not mistaken, you came to the military base to visit your family because your daughter told you she's fallen for a married man in the army and asked you to help her figure out what to do."
Sister-in-law Li immediately became alert. How could Lin Han know the contents of the letter He Jingjing wrote to her?
She was clearly guilty. "You're lying. Do you have any proof?"
Lin Han remained unmoved. "Of course you have the letter. I've only heard about it. If you want to prove your daughter's innocence, show the letter to everyone. If it doesn't mention this matter, then He Jingjing is naturally innocent."
Why does she need to provide evidence? Whoever is guilty should prove it themselves. They can use her status as a capitalist's daughter to their advantage with just a few words, so why can't she turn white into black and spread rumors about He Jingjing?
Besides, she wasn't exactly spreading rumors; Huo Qizheng was already a married man.
As for how she found out, it was thanks to the "megaphone" in the newbie gift pack for the space.
She had just come out of the hospital and overheard people gossiping, so she guessed that this matter must be related to He Jingjing. So she used her "loudspeaker" to find out about the gossip between the mother and daughter.
Sure enough, He Jingjing really had her eye on Huo Qizheng.
Sister-in-law Wang was shocked. "Sister-in-law Li, quickly show the letter to everyone. If it really isn't true, that would be good for clearing He Jingjing's name. But if it really is..."
She didn't say the rest, but everyone understood.
In the military, seducing a married man is a serious offense, and could even result in being expelled from the hospital; it's a matter of conduct.
Sister-in-law Li panicked. Where did that little bitch Lin Han hear about this?
If even someone as new to the unit as her has heard about it, then surely many others already know?
Oh my god, what should we do?
Their whole family scrimped and saved to send their daughter to college. If He Jingjing loses her job because of this, her reputation will be ruined, and she really won't be able to get married.
"That's not true. My daughter... she didn't know Commander Huo had a wife before. She thought Commander Huo was single. It's not illegal for her to like him, is it?"
Lin Han chuckled, "Oh, so the married man He Jingjing likes is my Huo Qizheng. No wonder she doesn't like me, threatened to kill me in the ward, and spread rumors about me and bullied me everywhere in the hospital. Now everyone calls me a capitalist."
So, she wanted to make me unable to stay in the army, kick me out, and then steal my husband.
The commotion attracted quite a few people, and there were no longer just the women who had been sitting under the tree enjoying the cool air.
"So that's what Nurse He from the hospital is like? The other day I went to deliver some clean clothes to my husband, and I happened to run into He Jingjing making a scene in Commander Huo's ward. In the end, the hospital even gave her a disciplinary action, which was posted on the hospital's bulletin board."
It seems this is probably true.
"Huh? How could a girl who usually seems so quiet and gentle do something like seducing someone's husband?"
Thankfully, Commander Huo's family arrived; otherwise, she would have ruined the relationship between the two of them.
When Sister Li heard someone talking about her daughter like that, she angrily rushed over to explain.
"No, my daughter didn't know that Commander Huo had a wife before. She definitely didn't seduce a married man."
