After Yunxi uncovered all the grass, she went straight back to the house to continue tidying up the medicinal herbs.

These are all things that can be sold for money, so we can't be careless.

Yunxi spent half an hour processing all the medicinal herbs and then laid them out in the yard to dry.

The amount of medicinal herbs we collected this time was quite small; after drying, it would probably only weigh around 20 jin (10 catties). It seems we should go up the mountain more often when we have free time and dig up more medicinal herbs.

Yunxi plans to finish all her tasks this afternoon and evening. Starting tomorrow, aside from gathering pig feed on the mountain, she will spend the rest of her time digging for medicinal herbs and hunting.

Yunxi wanted to earn more money before starting school, so that she wouldn't have time to earn money once she started school. Just thinking about not being able to earn money for several months made her feel heartbroken.

After taking out the food and dishes stored in the space and filling their stomachs, they couldn't wait to start preparing to work.

He took out some cleaned fish from his spatial storage, all of them weighing over two pounds each, and then took out a large bag of salt from his storage space.

Yunxi plans to make some of the fish in the space into preserved fish, and keep the rest in the space to eat fresh.

I searched for all the spices in the house, but I only found some star anise and cinnamon; that was all.

The salt used for pickling dried fish would be better if the spices were stir-fried first.

There were only two kinds of seasonings, which was far too little, so I simply took out some dried chili peppers from my storage space.

In the space, crush them up, take them out and stir-fry them in a pot with seasonings and salt until heated through. After stir-frying, put them in a wooden basin.

One by one, the fish to be salted were rubbed with salt and then placed directly into a large vat.

They are arranged layer by layer. A large tank can hold at least 100 kilograms of fish, which is about a dozen fish.

I used up enough salt to marinate two whole vats of fish before I finally used it all up.

Yunxi looked at the fish in the two tanks, which was enough for her to eat for a while, and decided to leave the rest for the time being.

Put the jar back into your spatial storage, then go to the left wing and place the jar inside. After pickling for three or four days, take it out to air dry.

I glanced at the large vats of pork belly next to me and felt that in another day or two, I could wash them and then dry them. But not yet, as the salt hadn't penetrated them yet.

Seeing this meat reminded me that there was some pork belly in the space, which was intended to be smoked into another kind of cured meat. It seems that when I cut pig feed tomorrow, I will not only need to pick medicinal herbs, but also cut more branches of wild fruit trees and other branches for smoking meat.

Stepping out of the house, I looked at the vegetables in the space, as well as the wild vegetables that had already been blanched; they were meant to be pickled.

Now that I have some time, I'll take out the blanched wild vegetables, put them directly into a large jar, and slowly rub them with salt, trying to rub them as evenly as possible.

Five large vats of wild vegetables were neatly arranged. After they were placed, a layer of cooled boiled water was placed on top, and they would be ready to eat in about half a month.

For now, we'll put it in the room on the left side.

Looking at these pickled wild vegetables, Yunxi suddenly remembered the pickled cowpeas she had made more than ten days ago. She quickly went to the room next to the kitchen, opened a jar, and could already smell the sour aroma.

I pinched a little bit and put it in my mouth. It was indeed a little sour, but not too sour; it was just right.

I put the pickled cabbage directly into the space. If I leave it outside, it will become even more sour in a few days and won't taste as good, affecting the flavor.

It's perfect timing now. If I leave it in my space, it won't go sour anymore. I can just take it out of my space when I want to eat it.

Yunxi was extremely busy that afternoon, picking all the chilies she had gathered from the space and the vegetable garden, washing them all, and then laying them out in the yard to dry.

After the water had dried, I started chopping the chili peppers, then added a lot of ginger and garlic.

Even if it's just been chopped and can't be eaten right away, you can tell it'll be delicious just by smelling it.

I put them directly into jars. I chopped quite a lot of chilies this time, using up all the red chilies stored in my space and those from the vegetable garden.

Three jars of chopped chili peppers are enough to last me a long time.

It can be temporarily placed in the storage room next to the kitchen. After ten days or half a month, it can be put back into the space without worrying about it spoiling.

After chopping the chili peppers, Yunxi took out all the very small fish, weighing several hundred pounds in total.

There weren't as many of these small fish as the larger ones. It seems I should pay more attention next time I collect the river water and filter out the smaller ones to avoid creating unnecessary trouble for myself.

The space was kept very clean, but after taking it out, I washed it again by the well and put it in a clean basin.

Drain all the water, then coat the small fish with flour, and even add a little salt, not too much, so as not to make it too salty.

Yunxi prepared them in advance, and then took them out to fry in the oil when everyone was asleep at night.

There are just too many of these small fish. I can eat them as snacks whenever I have free time.

By the time all the fish were prepared, it was almost dark, and the loudspeaker announcing the end of the workday had long since sounded.

Yunxi was so busy and diligent that she completely ignored the loudspeaker announcement that signaled the end of the workday.

I'll leave these small fish in the kitchen for now, and close the door when I leave, so the cats won't steal them.

After a busy afternoon, Yunxi's stomach was already rumbling, and she realized it was almost time for dinner.

I've been so busy all day that I seem to have forgotten about the chickens in the backyard.

I quickly fed the chicken, added some more water, and collected four more eggs. Then I hurried back to the front yard to eat.

I'm glad I prepared the meals in advance a while ago, so I don't have to cook for myself anymore, which saves me some time.

After eating and drinking to their hearts' content, they washed the dishes and immediately began cleaning up the lard in the space.

Although they look clean, they still need to be washed. After washing them, they need to be cut into smaller pieces so they can be better for rendering oil.
