Chapter 19 Wild Potatoes

Yunxi looked up at the sky and decided to hand over the pig feed in her basket before dealing with the wild yams.
I carefully noted down the location of the area to make sure I wouldn't get lost next time I came back, before carrying the pig feed and leaving.
On the way back, we occasionally came across some dry firewood, which we all put into our space. Although the quantity was small, it added up over time, and the more we collected, the more there would be.
When Yunxi returned to the pig farm, she saw that many people were already there handing in pig feed.
Besides Grandma Huang and Grandma Cheng, two familiar faces, there are also the sisters Yun Zhaodi and Yun Pandi.
For some reason, every time I see the two of them, I always feel that they look very sloppy. Their faces are dirty, and with sweat dripping down, they always give off a sticky and uncomfortable feeling.
After glancing at them, Yunxi immediately turned her head away and refused to look at them again, feeling that even looking at them for too long would be harmful to her eyes.
Yun Zhaodi and Yun Pandi also saw Yunxi. They glared at Yunxi fiercely, rolled their eyes, and looked straight ahead, no longer looking at Yunxi.
"ill."
She muttered a complaint under her breath, which was probably heard by a pregnant woman in front of her.
He turned to look at Yunxi, his expression turning somewhat grim. "What did you say?"
Oh my, do you think I'm talking about her?
"Sister-in-law Lotus, please don't take offense. I was definitely not talking about you. Those two sisters were staring at me intently and even rolled their eyes at me, so I just muttered something. Please don't be angry!"
Sister-in-law Hehua was also married into the Yun family, but she didn't really have any relation to the Yunxi family, as they were already beyond the five degrees of kinship.
After hearing Yunxi's explanation, the expression on her face softened a bit. "I saw them roll their eyes just now too. I thought they were coming at me, and I was feeling really angry. I didn't expect they were coming at you, Yunxi! It seems they're still venting their anger over what happened a couple of days ago. They really have no manners. They're clearly in the wrong, but they're trying to shift the blame onto others. They're so young and already not learning any good things."
Lotus Sister's expression was a little bad just now because she saw those glares and thought they were directed at her. Her expression improved slightly after she realized they were directed at Yunxi behind her.
Although she knew she had misunderstood, she didn't have a good impression of the two sisters either, and then quietly started complaining about them to Yunxi.
Seeing Sister-in-law Hehua's demeanor, Yunxi knew she was a gossip, and she didn't want to continue discussing the two sisters with her.
After all, in the villagers' minds, he was a well-behaved child, and he couldn't ruin his image.
So she quickly changed the subject, looking at Sister Lotus's big pregnant belly, and asked in a low voice, "Sister-in-law, how many months pregnant are you? I just saw a fist sticking out of the belly, is that real? Or am I seeing things?"
When talking about her child, Lotus's face lit up with a gentle maternal smile. She subconsciously touched her belly, and the corners of her mouth curled up slightly.
"The baby in my belly is a bit naughty. When there's nothing to do, it's like they're fighting inside, moving their hands and feet all the time. They're so mischievous."
This is all normal. Plus, you're already seven months along, and you'll give birth in a little over two more months. Things will get better after that.
She was complaining, but looking at the gentle expression on her face, you could tell that what she had just said was definitely a lie, just trying to comfort people.
"It seems your wife is carrying a son, otherwise he wouldn't be so mischievous. Your wife is so lucky!"
Yunxi also knew that in this era, everyone wanted to have more sons, so as long as she praised her belly, no one would be unhappy.
As expected, Yunxi had just praised her, saying that she was probably carrying a son. The smile on Aunt Hehua's face instantly widened, a stark contrast to her previous reserved smile.
"Yunxi, you really know how to talk. I'll take your good wishes and hope that the baby will be a mischievous boy."
They wanted to say something more, but soon it was Lotus Sister's turn in front of them, so the two of them quickly stopped to chat and record their work points first.
After quickly checking the pig feed in the basket and confirming that there were no problems, Grandma Cheng recorded the work points and then left the pig farm with Sister-in-law Hehua.
"Sister-in-law, are you getting ready to go back?"
Lotus stroked her protruding belly and said with a smile, "Yes, your older brother is a little worried because my belly is so big, so he only lets me cut a basket of pig feed every morning. He doesn't let me do more, because he's afraid I'll get tired."
It seems that this elder brother from the same clan really cares about his wife. He's not one of those heartless people. Even though his wife is heavily pregnant, he still wants her to do ten work points.
"That's because my brother cares about my sister-in-law. Then sister-in-law should hurry back and be careful on the way. I'll go up the mountain first and gather another bundle of pig feed."
"Don't worry, I've traveled this road so many times, I could get home safely with my eyes closed. I'm off now, take care on the mountain."
After saying goodbye to Sister Hehua, Yunxi couldn't wait to go to the place where she had found the wild yams. This time she had a destination, so she ran there quickly.
It took about 20 minutes to get to the place where the wild boar had just been. Seeing that the wild yams on the ground were still there, without any signs of anyone moving them, we knew that no one had discovered them.
At this time, everything that people find on the mountain, whether it's edible mountain produce or various kinds of prey, belongs to the individual.
There were so many people going up the mountain, and Yunxi was quite lucky to find so many wild yams that no one else had discovered before.
First, tentatively use the vines to control the sickle and cut off all the vines of the wild yam. Then, tentatively use the vines to see if you can dig out the wild yam.
Unfortunately, the vines are too soft. Controlling the sickle to cut grass is not a problem, but digging up the soil to dig out the wild yams inside is quite difficult.
Fortunately, Yunxi was strong enough, and with the hoe she had placed in her space beforehand, she started digging right away.
The hoe seems a bit dull; it feels like I can't get any power out of it. I guess I'll have to sharpen it when I have some free time so it doesn't interfere with my work.
I'm also glad that I'm strong enough now, so even if the hoe is dull, I can still dig out a large area with one stroke.
