Lu Zhiheng took a special look at his nephew's hands. His nephew had been going to the military camp for training every year during his holidays since he was a child. He looked gentle and refined, like a guy who could write, but in fact, his fighting skills were frighteningly high.

Even his uncle at his peak couldn't defeat him within ten moves. But what surprised him the most was that his little daughter could actually fight this cunning nephew to a draw.

He once secretly asked the kid if he had let the game go, and the kid actually said that there had to be water to let him go, and that's how he was easily defeated.

As the saying goes, there's always someone who can subdue another; this nephew was tamed by his daughter.

"Uncle, if I ask for her consent, can we get engaged first?" Lu Qingfeng wanted to settle things with her first.

You know, all sorts of weirdos and monsters can be found on university campuses, and he was genuinely afraid that the young girl would be snatched away by someone else.

"Then you have to get his consent first. How about this, as long as he agrees, I'll tell your aunt that the two of them, mother and daughter, will make the decisions in the family. As long as they both agree, I have no objection." How could Lu Zhiheng have any objection?

However, he doesn't have the final say in family matters.

After the uncle and nephew finished talking, they arrived at Director Zhang's door. Due to the recent shortage of supplies, there was no festive atmosphere at all.

Director Zhang was eating a bland meal alone at home, thinking about his family. When he heard the knock on the door, he was a little confused, wondering who would be visiting someone else's house on New Year's Eve. Then he heard Lu Zhiheng's voice from outside.

Director Zhang opened the door with a pleasant surprise and found his friend and his nephew standing there. He quickly welcomed them inside: "It's so cold outside, why did you come all this way? Qingfeng, have you eaten yet? Would you like to have a bite to eat with your uncle?"

"Uncle Zhang made some dumplings at home, so I brought some over for you. You're going back to eat later." Lu Qingfeng quickly waved his hand, almost overwhelmed by Uncle Zhang's enthusiasm.

"Oh, okay then. Come to my house for dinner another day." Director Zhang chuckled as he accepted the two bowls of dumplings. When he saw that Lu Zhiheng was also carrying a small jar of liquor, his eyes lit up instantly. It was his favorite drink.

"Old Lu, you really know me. Well then, brother, I won't stand on ceremony. Thanks!"

After putting their things down, the two left quickly, as they had elderly and young children at home and it wouldn't be appropriate to leave for too long.

The old man invited Zhang the tailor to his home as well. Zhang the tailor ate dumplings, feeling a little embarrassed.

He hadn't eaten such exquisite dumplings in years; every time he ate dumplings, he felt the taste of home.

After dinner, Zhang the tailor chatted with the old man for a while, and then Lu Qingzhu took him home. The cold wind was howling outside, and the old man was afraid that Zhang the tailor would fall, so he asked Lu Qingzhu to take him home.

No one had the custom of staying up all night on New Year's Eve. It was just too cold outside. After a quick meal and a quick wash, everyone went back to their rooms.

He Caiwei had just lain down when she heard the crackling of firecrackers outside. One string after another went off until after 2 a.m. before finally stopping.

The firecrackers stopped for just over three hours, then started going off again. Lu Qingyue, the little lazy pig, acted as if she hadn't heard them, wrapped herself in her blanket, rolled over to the side, and fell fast asleep.

He Caiwei got up reluctantly, washed up, and prepared to go to the kitchen to start a fire and cook. When she stepped out of her room, she realized that it was raining. No wonder the temperature outside had dropped several degrees.

The cold wind that hit her face made her shiver, and she quickly put on another layer of clothing.

"What kind of weather is this? It's so cold, and it's even raining." He Caiwei muttered to herself as she found an umbrella and went to the kitchen.

It's too cold this morning, but I still have to cook porridge. I made some minced meat last night, without any seasoning, to make preserved egg and lean pork porridge.

In Shenzhen, breakfast usually consists of porridge, but soy milk and fried dough sticks are also available, as well as a local specialty called "guotiao" (steamed rice noodles).

They used to eat steamed buns, soy milk, and white porridge for breakfast in Pingcheng.

However, the white porridge they used to eat was cooked until it was very mushy, while the porridge in Pengcheng is cooked with distinct grains, not so mushy, and tastes more refreshing.

Lu Qingzhu was eating this kind of porridge with distinct grains for the first time, and thought her sister hadn't cooked it properly.

Lu Qingfeng heard her get up early in the morning, and then he got up too. After washing up, he came to the kitchen with her to start a fire.

"Weiwei, do you have someone you like?"

He Caiwei was startled by his sudden voice. After hearing his question clearly, she was a little stunned. Why was this person suddenly concerned about her? She was only thirteen years old and shouldn't be thinking about this issue yet.

"I haven't thought about it. What's wrong? Why did you suddenly think of this?" He Caiwei really hadn't thought about this question. After all, she was only a thirteen-year-old kid, and it was too early for her to think about this.

"I like you, can you consider me?" Lu Qingfeng was busy tending the fire when he said this. His face and neck were red, but He Caiwei couldn't see it because he was looking down.

He Caiwei was taken aback by his directness. This was too blunt! Why bring this up so early on the first day of the Lunar New Year?

He Caiwei reached out and touched his forehead, finding that he didn't have a fever. Why was he talking nonsense so early in the morning when he didn't have a fever?

"I'm fine, I'm telling the truth. From the first time I saw you, I felt that you were different to me, but at the time I didn't know why. Now I understand, it's because I like you, I want you." Lu Qingfeng was a passionate young man, and his straightforward and ardent liking caught He Caiwei off guard.

"I haven't thought about it yet. But since you've brought it up, I'll seriously consider it. Give me some time." He Caiwei didn't know how to answer his direct question.

“Okay, I’ll stay here until around the start of the semester and then go back with you. You can take your time to think about it during this time. Also, I’m sorry for what I said about you being spoiled; it really wasn’t my intention.” Lu Qingfeng nodded. Since he agreed to consider it, there was a chance, so he wasn’t discouraged.

This kind of thing can't be accomplished overnight; it has to be done slowly. Pushing too hard will only have the opposite effect.

After that, the atmosphere in the kitchen was eerily quiet as I prepared the meal.

Although He Caiwei was somewhat absent-minded, he still quickly prepared a meal and returned to his room after serving it.

Her mother didn't get up to eat that early, so she kept her mother's portion warm in the pot, while everyone else was already at the table.

She's a bit flustered right now and doesn't feel like eating, so she needs to go back to her room to calm down.
