Chapter 78 Major Discovery

He Caiwei didn't say anything, but instead pulled her brother along to slowly clean up the traces of their presence before leaving the area.
The two carefully wiped the places they had touched and walked on with their gloves before quickly leaving.
They didn't dare go upstairs either. They had to hurry and find their uncle to resolve the matter first. These things were too dangerous for children like them to handle.
They didn't need to clean up any traces outside, since the snow was falling heavily at this time and would soon cover up their footprints. They didn't need to worry about that. After closing the door, the two of them ran all the way out of the woods.
My uncle's injury wasn't very serious, but he needed to be hospitalized for observation. His arm was hit by a roof beam, and a nail on the beam cut a long gash in his hand, requiring 23 stitches.
Tonight, the eldest brother, Lu Qingfeng, is keeping him company at the hospital. The two of them rushed straight to the hospital without stopping.
He Caiwei was in better physical condition and wasn't as out of breath, but the young man she was dragging was so out of breath that his lungs felt like they were going to explode, and he could only lean against the hospital wall to catch his breath.
When Lu Qingfeng came out to get water, he saw his younger brother and sister. Looking at the snow on them and their travel-worn appearance, he knew that his second brother was definitely unreliable and had taken his sister out to play again. He wondered why they hadn't gone home but had instead gone to the hospital.
"Big brother, is Uncle asleep yet?"
"No, I just woke up a little while ago, my hand hurts." As soon as Lu Qingfeng finished speaking, He Caiwei pushed the door open and went in.
"Uncle, we've made a major discovery. Is it convenient for you to talk about it here now?" He Caiwei whispered as she approached the bedside.
Seeing her travel-worn appearance, Lu Zhining waved for his eldest son to close the door.
"What's wrong? Hold on a minute. Where have you two been so late? It's snowing heavily outside." Lu Zhining had no idea what these kids were thinking. They dared to go out and play in such heavy snow. Weren't they afraid of getting a beating when they got home?
"Uncle, tonight my second brother and I were curious and wanted to go check out the steel mill. But before we even got there, we saw two suspicious people behind us, searching through the burnt ruins. They found it in a short while and then headed into the grove."
My second brother and I were curious, so we went along. Behind the grove of trees, weren't there some nice houses? That's where we found it—a box of bombs, the kind the enemy uses, not the homemade grenades we make. A whole box, over 1.2 meters long and 80 centimeters high, made of wood. Uncle, do you know how many were in there? It almost scared us to death.” He Caiwei was genuinely terrified. If things hadn't gone smoothly, both she and her brother would have been killed there.
"Weiwei, say what you just said again." Lu Zhining thought he had misheard; the little girl must have never seen a bomb before.
“There were four identical boxes containing bombs, but we were terrified after looking at only one box, so we rushed back to find you. Uncle Lu had two men, each about 1.7 meters tall, who stayed inside for more than two hours before leaving…” He Caiwei wanted to tell more about what she had seen, but Uncle Lu had already grabbed her hand and, ignoring his own pain, prepared to get out of bed.
"Lu Qingfeng, take me to the dean's office, hurry up!" Lu Zhining shouted outside. Upon hearing the voice, Lu Qingfeng immediately pushed open the door and came in, pushing a wheelchair.
As expected, the son knows his father best. When he heard his father tell him to close the door and then stand guard outside, he knew something must have happened, so he went to the nurses' station to borrow a wheelchair.
Several people rushed to the dean's office first, but Lu Zhining kicked them all out before making a phone call.
He Caiwei didn't know what he said in there, but after her uncle finished making the phone call in the dean's office, he became very agitated. He then put on his clothes, grabbed his eldest son, and prepared to leave. This hospital could no longer be used; he had to deal with such a dangerous situation first.
He suddenly remembered that his little niece was still here: "Weiwei, be a good girl and go back right now. I'll have Qingzhu lead the way." Lu Zhining didn't want his little niece to get involved in this, so he had to extricate her from the situation.
"I understand, Uncle. It's the eighth step of the left stair railing. Push it from left to right." He Caiwei understood what her uncle meant, nodded, and prepared to obediently go back. However, she still told her uncle about the mechanism she had just activated, so that they wouldn't be unable to find it when they got there. Her second brother was rather confused and had no idea what she was doing. Even if she took him there, he could only lead her to the right place.
"I understand, sweetie. Go back now. Be careful on your way back. Tell your aunt not to worry about us." Lu Zhining patted his head and left with her son.
Lu Qingzhu, who had just caught his breath, was dragged along again. Knowing the seriousness of the situation, he didn't dare to complain and quickly led the way.
When the father and his two sons came out of the hospital, there were already four military vehicles parked at the entrance. More than twenty people got out of the vehicles, and they all looked at Lu Zhining with serious expressions.
"Reporting to the commander, the Fierce Tiger Battalion has assembled. Please give instructions." Standing at the front, a handsome young man stepped forward and saluted the injured Lu Zhining, ready to accept the mission.
"I'll go with you. From now on, we'll break into smaller groups and appear in the dense woods behind the steel mill in ten minutes to begin the operation." Lu Zhining returned the salute, gave the order, and then stood up and quickly walked towards the steel mill.
Ten minutes later, everyone was present. Lu Qingzhu discovered that the two people had reappeared there, seemingly having just returned from the outskirts of town.
Lu Qingzhu gestured a few times to her father, and Lu Zhining immediately understood what she meant. He immediately gave the order to the Fierce Tiger Battalion: these two people were the ones living here, so take them down first.
So, without any warning, the two were subdued, knocked unconscious, tied up, and thrown into the snow to soak in the snow in one fell swoop.
Lu Qingzhu led the men of the Fierce Tiger Battalion into the house and, along with the battalion commander, to the secret room they had just discovered.
"Here, the mechanism to open the door is on this staircase. These railings seem to be the 8th step. Uncle, just push it from left to right."
The door to the secret room was quickly opened, and the contents were clearly visible under the flashlight beam.
"We didn't have the keys to open those two boxes, so we didn't look at those boxes. We only opened this box that had already been opened, and it seemed like the good stuff inside had been taken out, so we only looked at this box. We didn't look at the others, so we don't know what's inside," Lu Qingzhu quickly explained their discovery.
