Yan Yu, standing beside him, didn't even raise an eyebrow.

He didn't even look at the giant eagle; he simply stretched out a hand, fingers spread, towards the swooping behemoth.

Then, give it a gentle squeeze.

There was no sound.

The world, however, stood still at that moment.

The menacing giant eagle, along with the wind and snow within a hundred meters of it, was "pushed" out of reality by an invisible force and frozen in mid-air.

Its fierce eyes, its outstretched claws, and even the cold glint reflected from every feather, all became a still painting.

Yan Yu, with his arm around Ruan Tang, walked past the painting without changing his expression.

He didn't let go of her hand until they were out of the ridge.

As time and space resumed their flow behind him, the giant eagle let out a howl, realizing that its target had vanished into thin air. Filled with bewilderment about its eagle existence, it circled a few times before dejectedly flying back into the clouds.

The whole process was completely silent, without disturbing a single snowflake.

Ruan Tang tilted her small face up to look at the man's sharply defined profile. Her almond-shaped eyes sparkled, as if filled with shattered starlight.

How can her husband be so handsome!

Yan Yu noticed her burning gaze, turned his head, and met her eyes full of adoration. His Adam's apple bobbed almost imperceptibly.

A faint blush crept up his earlobe.

He coughed lightly, casually shifting his gaze, but his voice remained steady: "We've arrived."

Ahead, there was a cliff covered by a huge icefall.

[Squeak! It's right inside! Behind the ice!] Little White poked its head out from under the hood, waving its little paws excitedly.

Yan Yu stepped forward and placed his broad palm on the ice wall.

Mental power, like an invisible carving knife, precisely cuts a doorway in the ice, silently and without a sound.

Behind the door lies a hidden world.

Inside the enormous ice cave, the walls were inlaid with luminous crystals, illuminating the place as bright as day.

On the stone platform in the center of the cave, a fist-sized, warm and smooth stone lay quietly.

It looks plain and unremarkable, neither shining nor colorful.

But once Ruan Tang's gaze fell on it, she couldn't look away.

She could clearly "hear" the steady, powerful pulse emanating from the stone, a pulse that shared the same origin as the vast earth beneath her feet.

A naturally occurring spiritual stone nurtured by the Kunlun Dragon Vein!

Ruan Tang took a deep breath, slowly walked forward, and gently placed her trembling little hand on the spirit stone.

The moment the fingertips touch—

boom!

A vast power originating from the beginning of the world rushed into her consciousness like a flood bursting its banks, flowing from her fingertips!

She "saw" Pangu creating the world and Nuwa creating humankind; she "saw" the pioneering efforts of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors; she "saw" the flame of civilization that has burned for thousands of years on the land of China, never extinguished!

That is the oldest memory and pride engraved in the blood and soul of the descendants of Yan!

Ruan Tang's eyes instantly welled up with tears.

She was still reeling from the shock and was preparing to put the spirit stone away.

Yan Yu, who was beside her, suddenly pulled her into his arms without warning, and with a backhand slap, a solid golden barrier burst open in front of the two of them!

Bang--!

Almost simultaneously, a sharp and incomparable sword aura, carrying a chilling killing intent, slashed fiercely at the spot where they had just been standing!

A deep, bottomless ravine was carved into the hard, icy ground!

"Hmph, leave your spirit stones, and perhaps we can spare your corpses!"

A cold, greedy voice came from the cave entrance.

Ruan Tang and Yan Yu looked up at the same time.

Three men dressed in ancient Taoist robes blocked the cave entrance, long swords in hand, their eyes fixed on them with hostility, like they were eyeing prey. (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
