Chapter 204 The Soul-Calling Shrine (3/3)

As she spoke, she raised her head, and a chilling coldness flashed in her shimmering almond-shaped eyes.
"Tell me, what kind of good family would go to such lengths to set up a special place to summon a soul?"
"Therefore, there must be something wrong with this place."
"Moreover, I can sense that those who are drawn to this 'spirit summoning shrine' are not benevolent spirits."
Ruan Tang closed her eyes, her divine sense extending once more, trying to touch that distant and evil source.
In an instant, a scene exploded in her mind!
That's not a physical building.
It was a massive black vortex, so large it blotted out the sun, formed by endless resentment and malevolent energy!
At the center of the vortex was a black hole that devoured all light. As soon as her divine sense approached, she felt a bone-chilling tearing sensation, as if her soul was about to be ripped apart!
Countless twisted, broken, and radiating overwhelming hatred black soul shadows are being pulled in from all parts of the Sakura Kingdom, and even from more distant seas, by an irresistible force.
They screamed and struggled, ultimately being helplessly drawn into that enormous vortex.
These souls were bandits, executioners, and soldiers who died in war with extreme malice... they were themselves a collection of malevolent energy.
Under the catalysis of the "Soul Summoning Society's" grand formation, they were crushed and purified.
All remaining humanity was burned away, leaving only the purest and most vicious resentment and murderous intent.
Some of these purified "nutrients" were used to reinforce the massive evil formation that stole the nation's destiny, while the rest were continuously transported to some unknown location.
This is not a summoning of spirits at all!
This is artificially creating a huge "resentment processing plant," mass-producing the most vicious ingredients for curses!
Ruan Tang suddenly opened her eyes, her face instantly turning pale. Her stomach churned, and she couldn't help but dry heave.
“They…are using these evil spirits as fuel.” Her voice was dry and hoarse.
Yan Yu reached out, his broad, warm hand grasping her slightly cool fingertips, transferring a steady force to her.
He didn't ask what he saw specifically; he simply showed her through his actions that he was there.
The nausea in Ruan Tang's heart was largely dispelled by the warmth of his palm.
She took a deep breath, looked at the map again, her eyes now completely cold, devoid of any warmth.
She pointed to the "Edo Shrine of Spirits" and spoke slowly and deliberately.
"This necromancy society is the 'heart' of the entire evil network."
“Those temples and shrines are its ‘blood vessels’.”
"If we don't move, then we won't."
"If it moves, we'll have to dig out its heart."
She looked up, her almond-shaped eyes curving into Yan Yu's, and the two dimples on her cheeks reappeared, but they were filled with ice crystals.
"Brother, let's examine each of those 'blood vessels' carefully first, and then... give its heart a big gift, okay?" (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
