The three men instinctively let go, panting heavily, their hair disheveled, their faces covered in bloodstains.
Chen Fengshan pointed at Jin Yuhong, his words dripping with icy coldness: "Comrade Jin Yuhong! I don't care what grudges you have in the city, once you're in Jixiang Brigade, you have to abide by the rules here!"
"If I see you causing trouble again, I'll report you directly to the commune's educated youth office and report your ideological problems!"
"Get out now! Immediately! Right now!"
The words "ideological problem" hit Jin Yuhong hard on the head like a block of ice.
She trembled, her mind went blank, and her arrogance vanished instantly, leaving only fear in her heart.
……………………
The farce has finally come to an end.
The next morning, Ruan Tang and Yan Yu were having breakfast when Lin Xiangnan burst in like a gust of wind.
"You didn't see it, Jin Yuhong was like a mad dog!"
Lin Xiangnan gulped down half a bowl of water in one go, speaking animatedly, the red marks on his face making him look even more dashing.
"And Gu Jinzhou, that cowardly guy, his face turned as green as a pig's liver! He deserved it!"
Ruan Tang was held in Yan Yu's arms, taking small bites of the egg he had peeled. Her eyes sparkled as she listened, and two dimples at the corners of her mouth flashed.
That was brilliant!
It's even more exciting than a storyteller's narration!
She tilted her head up and whispered in Yan Yu's ear, "Brother, do you think Shen Yishan will be more sober this time?"
Yan Yu remained silent.
He lowered his head and fed her the last bite of egg.
Then, with his fingertips, he slowly and deliberately wiped away the crumbs of egg yolk from the corner of her mouth with a slightly rubbing motion.
His eyes were filled with such doting affection that they seemed to drip with water, but his voice was cold and devoid of any warmth. The deep vibrations resonated in Ruan Tang's ears.
"Won't."
He lowered his eyes, watching the little girl's engrossed expression, and parted his thin lips to utter two words.
"idiot."
He paused, then added.
"It will only drag down those around you."
His Tangtang must never be tainted by such an idiot.
Lin Xiangnan didn't hear their whispered conversation and was still indignant: "Let me tell you, this isn't over! That Jin Yuhong is no pushover!"
Ruan Tang looked at her with a smile, appearing innocent and naive, and said in a soft, sweet voice, "Sister Xiang Nan, you'd better be careful, don't get bitten by a mad dog."
She said this to Lin Xiangnan.
But Yan Yu understood.
He held Ruan Tang's small hand, his warm palm enveloping her completely, his fingertips gently and firmly caressing the back of her soft hand, again and again.
His eyes held an unyielding possessiveness.
And a trace of cold, suppressed killing intent deep within.
Yes.
Mad dogs should be beaten to death.
Especially those mad dogs who dared to get in his way, right under his nose, and embarrass his little girl. (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
