She stared wide-eyed at Yan Yu, who looked completely at ease, then looked down at the equally bewildered little white mouse in his hand, and muttered to herself: "A man who is almost 1.9 meters tall is jealous of a treasure-hunting mouse the size of a palm. How childish is that?"

Even the little white thing held in the palm of my hand understood.

It stopped crying, tilted its little head, and its dark purple eyes were filled with great confusion.

A bad man wants to hug me?

Then the owner hugged the bad man?

Then...wouldn't I become...an appendage of a bad man?!

No! Absolutely not!

Little White's survival instinct exploded instantly! It immediately changed its strategy and got carried away with its acting.

Its body suddenly stiffened, its little head tilted dramatically to the side, its eyes closed, and its pink little tongue stuck out halfway from its mouth.

The rat unconsciously kicked its limbs and legs in all directions, then lay flat on its back in Yan Yu's palm, motionless.

It fainted!

Ruan Tang almost burst out laughing when she saw her spirit beast's exaggerated and cringe-worthy acting.

Yan Yu used his mental power to scan the heart in his palm and knew that the little heart was beating very enthusiastically.

His lips twitched almost imperceptibly, a half-smile playing on his lips, but he didn't expose it.

The man held the "unconscious" Xiaobai in one hand, and tightened his other arm, pressing Ruan Tang completely into his embrace.

He lowered his head and affectionately rubbed the tip of his high nose against her delicate cheek.

He buried his face in the crook of her neck, his hot breath brushing against her sensitive earlobe, his voice hoarse beyond belief, yet carrying a hint of triumphant satisfaction.

"Now, no one is going to take it from you."

The tickling sensation on her nose, the warmth in her ears, and the man's cool yet domineering aura instantly melted Ruan Tang's heart.

Looking at Yan Yu's childish yet domineering behavior, and then at the little darling in his hand who was putting on a show with his life on the line, she was completely at a loss.

One's a jealous person, the other's a drama queen; their lives are unlikely to be peaceful from now on.

Oh well, let them "get closer" then.

Ruan Tang raised her hand and patted the man's arm, both amused and annoyed. "Alright, you win. Put it down now, it scared you half to death."

As she spoke, she had a sudden thought and released the full basket of pig feed and the puppet grandmother from her spatial storage.

Since forming the Daoist Couple Contract, everyone who has a contract with Ruan Tang can instantly understand Yan Yu's identity, saving them the trouble of explaining.

Sure enough, as soon as the burly puppet grandmother appeared, she immediately bowed and greeted him with a loud and respectful voice.

"Miss, young master."

Yan Yu was delighted to be called "son-in-law." He nodded reservedly and casually handed over the "unconscious" Little White from his palm, his tone leaving no room for argument.

"Keep an eye on it and don't let it run around."

The puppet grandmother immediately reached out and steadily took the "rat-like creature" that was secretly opening its eyes to observe Yan Yu.

Now, Yan Yu's hands were both free.

He stretched out his long arm and, before Ruan Tang could react, scooped her up in his arms and strode towards the edge of the kang (heated brick bed).

"What are you doing?!"

Ruan Tang was startled and instinctively hugged his neck tightly.

Yan Yu gently placed her on the edge of the kang (a heated brick bed), supporting himself on either side of her body with his hands, his tall frame completely enveloping her in his shadow.

He leaned down, his dark eyes so deep they seemed to suck in one's soul, filled with undisguised possessiveness; his gaze seemed to want to devour her whole.

"What just happened isn't over yet."

His voice was low and husky, carrying a hint of dangerous aggression.

"Now, it's time to settle accounts." (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
