Enraged, the man covered her mouth with his hand and growled in a low voice, "Are you crazy! If you keep this up, we're both finished! Do you want to be paraded through the streets with a sign saying you're a slut?!"

Ruan Tang watched with great interest from behind the stone.

Wow! Seeing it live is definitely a different experience! It's much more exciting than the stories told by storytellers!

She was so engrossed in watching that, in order to get a better look at the man's fascinating expressions, she subconsciously stood on tiptoe and leaned forward...

"Crack!"

A very faint sound, but in the quiet mountain forest at that moment, like a thunderclap, exploded from beneath her feet!

The two people who were tearing at each other froze instantly!

It's like the pause button has been pressed.

The man named Wu Jianmin suddenly turned his head, his eyes flashing like knives as he warily hissed, "Who?! Who's there?!"

Ruan Tang's heart skipped a beat, almost jumping out of her throat!

Oh no! I got caught the first time I listened to gossip!

Only one thought remained in her mind: Run!

Immediately! Right now! Disappear on the spot!

Without thinking, she turned around abruptly and plunged headfirst into the densest bushes nearby!

The movement was as fast as a startled rabbit.

Unfortunately, in her panic, she lost all sense of direction and didn't even remember that she was already at the fourth level of Qi Refining and had spiritual power, and that she could at least enter the spatial realm.

At this moment, Ruan Tang had long forgotten everything else. Her only thought was not to be discovered. Just when she thought she had successfully "disappeared," her foot suddenly lost its footing!

She fell uncontrollably, but thankfully she remembered that someone behind her covered her mouth, preventing her from screaming out.

Thump! Splash!

She landed squarely on her bottom in a rather embarrassing manner, falling into a pit perfectly covered by thick vines and fallen leaves!

In an instant, dust and rotten leaves flew everywhere, covering her head and face.

The pit wasn't deep, but the fall was really hard.

Ruan Tang saw stars and was stunned for a long time.

She spat out the dirt and rotten leaves from her mouth, rubbing her sore bottom as she looked like she was about to cry.

Alas... Enjoying the melon is precious, but one's life is more valuable.

This melon is guaranteed to be ripe, but it's a bit prickly... My back is killing me...

Where did you fall?!

Yan Yu's voice was urgent, as if he wished he could appear by Ruan Tang's side immediately.

"It's okay, it's okay, don't worry, I just tripped and fell..." Ruan Tang reassured him in her heart while grimacing as she tried to get up.

Fortunately, the pair of wild mandarin ducks above seemed to have been frightened by the sound of the heavy object falling to the ground, and they didn't dare to come over to check. The surroundings quickly became quiet again.

Ruan Tang breathed a sigh of relief before taking a closer look at the pit she had fallen into.

The pit wasn't large, but it had an eerie feel to it.

The surrounding soil was still relatively moist and covered with moss, but in the very center of the pit, a spot about the size of a washbasin, was completely bare, with no vegetation and the soil completely dried out.

Right in the very center of this dead land, there lay a fist-sized, dark rock.

It looks like a lump of coal.

Ruan Tang's curiosity was piqued again.

She dared not touch it carelessly, so she took out a long piece of pigweed from her spatial storage and carefully poked the black stone with the tip of the blade.

The next second, a bizarre scene unfolded.

The tender, green grass blades, upon touching the black stone, seemed to have all their life force sucked away by something unseen, withering instantly from the tips downwards.

Ruan Tang was startled, her hand trembled, and she quickly threw the blade of grass on the ground.

In the blink of an eye, that once vibrant green blade of grass had become a withered stalk. (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
