After a bowl of spirit rice porridge, a warm and soothing sensation slowly spreads from the stomach and flows into every part of the body.
Ruan Tang leaned lazily against the soft couch in front of the bamboo house and sighed contentedly.
This transformed body possesses astonishingly heightened senses.
She could even clearly hear the dew condensing on the leaves of the bamboo forest in the distance, sliding down, and finally dripping onto the stone surface with a crisp "plop".
My mind was clear and lucid like never before.
But that's not enough.
In this strange world devoid of spiritual energy, without spiritual power to protect oneself, one is ultimately just a rootless duckweed.
It scattered with a gust of wind.
She needs strength.
Even the smallest amount was enough to give her the confidence to make a living in this world.
Ruan Tang got up, slipped on her shoes, and slowly walked towards the private cultivation room deep inside the bamboo house.
The spiritual energy inside was so rich that it almost turned into a tangible mist, and every breath was filled with a refreshing and sweet fragrance.
This used to be the environment she was most familiar with and most comfortable in.
She sat cross-legged on the futon, closed her eyes, and focused her mind on her dantian.
The crystal-clear, shimmering, top-grade water spirit root floated quietly, radiating a soft halo, as perfect as a work of art.
Ruan Tang began to guide the surrounding spiritual energy using the water-based cultivation method she was most familiar with from her previous life.
One breath.
Two breaths.
Three breaths.
The meridians are completely empty.
The purest water-based spiritual energy, like a group of playful fish, swam merrily outside her meridians, surrounding her and drawing close to her...
They just wouldn't come in.
Ruan Tang's brows gradually furrowed.
What happened?
She refused to believe in superstition. With a focused mind, she forcefully drew upon a wisp of the purest water-elemental spiritual energy, attempting to directly infuse it into her spiritual root.
However, the moment the spiritual energy touched the spiritual root, it slipped away silently, like a water droplet rolling across a lotus leaf.
There is no sign of any fusion.
It was as if her top-grade water spirit root was just a gorgeous decoration.
Ruan Tang suddenly opened her eyes, her gaze filled with astonishment and absurdity.
That's impossible!
She tried again.
The result was the same.
Try again!
It's still the same!
Whether she guides gently or absorbs forcefully, she is like a beggar sitting on a mountain of gold but unable to find the key to unlock it.
It has a treasure mountain, but no way to enter it.
A tremendous sense of frustration, mixed with boundless grievances, suddenly surged into my heart.
how so?
She barely survived, was given a better body, and possessed the single spiritual root she had dreamed of in her previous life...
As a result, they couldn't even do the most basic thing: drawing qi into the body!
What's this?
Is God playing a cruel joke on her?!
My nose tingled, and my eyes instantly welled up with tears.
In both her lives combined, she had never suffered such injustice!
She was so angry that she trembled all over, and tears streamed down her face.
Just as she was overcome with anger and almost burst into tears, a strange change suddenly occurred within her dantian!
The little sapling that had always been quiet and close to her spiritual roots seemed to be startled by her tears and anger, and suddenly swayed slightly.
A tender green leaf stretched out, and then, surprisingly, a plaque that was entirely emerald green and as lustrous as jade was pushed out from the tree trunk.
The jade pendant detached from the tree trunk, pierced straight through her body, and floated in front of her.
Ruan Tang, tears still streaming down her face, stared blankly at the small jade pendant, momentarily forgetting to cry.
She reached out her trembling hand, her fingertips just touching the jade pendant.
The jade pendant transformed into a beam of green light and instantly disappeared into her brow.
