After hanging up the phone, Li Sisi thought it over and over, but still felt that she couldn't just let it go like that.

It seems like they're not taking it seriously enough.

Since Wan Tang couldn't find her, she went to the pharmacy to find Wan Tang.

Tang Qing was also angered by her older sister. It was her who spoke first, and it was her who nodded in agreement. They had arranged a time, but then she called to say that she wouldn't cooperate anymore. It was her again.

Isn't this just treating people like monkeys?

"Sisi, here's a hundred yuan. Take Wantang to the Friendship Store and buy some things that little girls like."

Li Sisi was so excited that a big bubble popped out of her nose from crying.

She threw herself into Tang Qing's arms: "Mom, I love you to death."

"Stay away from me, don't wipe your snot on my new clothes, it's filthy." Tang Qing said disgustedly, pushing Li Sisi away and pulling her to the bathroom.

With a brisk and efficient styling, Li Sisi waved and got on her bicycle.

"Mom, I'm leaving."

Tang Qing shouted at the top of her lungs from behind, "Slow down! Remember not to pay!"

As the flying braids gradually disappeared from sight, Tang Qing was about to turn around when she was startled by a female voice that suddenly rang out behind her.

"Aunt--"

She took two steps back, frowning as she looked at Liu Cuicui, who had appeared out of nowhere.

Who are you?

"Auntie, I'm Sisi's friend, Liu Cuicui."

"Sisi's friend? Liu Cuicui? I've never heard Sisi mention her." Tang Qing asked suspiciously.

Her daughter isn't the type to keep things bottled up. Last time she bought the whitening cream, she kept saying, "Sister Wantang is beautiful and has great medical skills." When they first met, Tang Qing didn't go up to her immediately but instead observed Su Wantang from the side.

Some people, you can tell their manners with just a glance; others, you can tell they have ulterior motives with just one look.

If Su Wantang gave Tang Qing the former feeling, then Liu Cuicui gave Tang Qing the latter feeling.

Liu Cuicui gave a stiff laugh: "Perhaps... Sisi hasn't had a chance to mention it yet. We only met yesterday."

"Oh... Sisi has gone out. I have something to do, so I won't entertain you any longer."

"Auntie, I have something to tell you!" Liu Cuicui grabbed Tang Qing's arm. "Su Wantang is a capitalist's daughter!"

Tang Qing raised an eyebrow. She knew it; this wasn't a good product.

"Anything else?" she asked calmly.

Seeing that Tang Qing was interested, Liu Cuicui spoke even more enthusiastically.

"Auntie, to be honest, Su Wantang is my cousin. There are some things I shouldn't say as her older cousin—"

"You don't have to say it."

Liu Cuicui choked for a moment, but quickly composed herself, her face radiating righteous indignation.

"No, I must say, I can't watch my cousin Wantang make one mistake after another, nor can I watch such a good girl as Sisi be deceived and end up as a scapegoat."

“Auntie, Su Wantang disregarded her parents and stole my engagement to avoid being sent to the countryside, marrying into the Lu family... That's fine... We're sisters, I'll swallow this grievance. But I grew up with her, she doesn't know how to make any whitening cream at all, that pharmacy of hers was just opened for her by the Lu family for fun, please don't believe her, she's just trying to scam you out of your money.”

"Moreover, swindling money is a minor issue. If things get out of hand, she'll be fine with the Lu family protecting her. But if you get implicated because of her capitalist status, then... your whole family will be ruined."

"Are you done talking? You can leave now."

Liu Cuicui was clearly taken aback. Why wasn't this developing in the direction she had expected?

Tang Qing ignored Liu Cuicui's thoughts, finished saying goodbye, and quickly turned and walked into the courtyard.

Seeing her hurried steps, Liu Cuicui's lips curled up into a smile.

It seems that Li Sisi's mother isn't as calm as she appears.

Indeed, who would want to be around a stinking fly?

Although they didn't steal Li Sisi away, ruining Su Wantang's business was not bad either.

Liu Cuicui walked away with her right hand on her hip and her left hand on her stomach, looking smug.

Once inside, Tang Qing called Tang Fang.

"Big sister, did you cancel the cooperation because you listened to other people's gossip?"

Knowing Tang Qing's personality, Tang Fang instinctively denied it: "Little sister, it was the leader who suddenly—"

"Tang Fang! You should know that I wouldn't have asked that question if I wasn't absolutely certain."

There was a long silence on the other end of the phone before someone said helplessly, "Little sister, she's the daughter of a capitalist. How can I do business with someone like that?"

"Now that we've come to this, I'd like to give you some advice: talk to Sisi and tell her not to associate with any shady friends, or she might bring trouble to the family without anyone knowing."

“I think there’s a good young woman in your compound. She’s honest, about the same age as Sisi, and most importantly, she’s from a clean family.”

The busy signal came through, and Tang Fang complained, "Little sister, you're still as fierce as ever."

*

Eager to see Su Wantang, Li Sisi pedaled her bicycle at breakneck speed.

Suddenly, a boy darted out from the street. Li Sisi quickly gripped the handbrake, twisted the handlebars to the side, and shouted, "Get out of the way! Get out of the way!"

When the boy's grandmother saw this, her short, bowed legs moved swiftly, she grabbed the boy's waist, and pulled him aside.

He took off his shoes and started hitting: "I'll teach you to watch where you're going! If you hit that precious bicycle, you couldn't afford to pay for it even if you sold yourself!"

The boy saw a little girl eating egg pastry and clamored to have some, but his grandma wouldn't buy it for him. He got angry and turned away.

Already angry, the boy was now filled with hatred after being hit.

He hated that his family was poor! He hated rich people even more!

Pick up the pebbles on the ground and throw them under the bicycle wheels.

Li Sisi breathed a sigh of relief, having not hit anyone. Before she could even get her footing, something jolted her tire, and in an instant, the bike began to wobble even more violently.

To make matters worse, a taxi suddenly appeared in front of her. Li Sisi hurriedly swerved to avoid it, but her tire was hit again. Her hand went numb, and she veered off course. The bicycle went out of control and crashed straight into the taxi.

Li Sisi screamed and was about to jump out of the car when the back seat sank, and two arms appeared beside her. A steady male voice sounded from behind her, and the swaying of the car lessened.

"Let go of your hands, lift your feet."

His voice was low, yet it seemed to carry a power that commanded submission, and Li Sisi subconsciously complied.

After riding to a safe section of road, the man removed his arms for a while, but Li Sisi was still a little distracted.

"get off."

"Okay...okay."

Li Sisi rubbed her buttocks together, flipped her legs, and jumped down.

After getting out of the car, she immediately looked at the back seat. The man's brows were slightly furrowed, as if he was somewhat displeased.

He has sharp brow bones, a handsome face, and an upright demeanor, but he gives off a fierce feeling, as if he might suddenly start a fight at the slightest provocation.

"What a pity..." Li Sisi muttered to herself.

"What did you say?" Fu Jing asked after parking the car.

When Fu Jing stood up, he was very tall. Li Sisi felt that he was half a head taller than her father. He looked down at her with a cold gaze.

Bang bang bang.

Li Sisi blurted out, "I think I'm sick, my heart is beating a little fast."
