Chapter 156 Spring Festival Gala Scene

Without pausing, Shi Shi hurried home. Someone was waiting for her there!
Shi Shi gave Aunt Zhang and Aunt Sun a day off a few days ago.
Shi Shi has been very busy lately, and has been eating work meals with his colleagues. But there's no need to worry about him at home; the good thing about older men is that they take care of everything.
As I entered the house, I saw the entryway light was on. Knowing that I wouldn't be alone this New Year, my mood improved considerably. Even my physical fatigue seemed to ease.
Sure enough, Fu Yingzhou was sitting in the lobby on the first floor typing on his computer.
"Are you hungry? There are some small wontons that Aunt Zhang froze in the fridge. What kind of filling do you want?"
Shi Shi originally just wanted to sleep. She was too tired to eat. But when she thought of Aunt Zhang's thin-skinned, generously filled wontons that burst with juice when you bit into them, her mouth started watering.
Shi Shi held up two fingers: "I can eat two bowls. Add some dried shrimp to the soup. What kinds of fillings are there?"
Fu Yingzhou looked at her with doting eyes: "We have all the kinds of food you like."
"Great! I want corn and meat, and shrimp too!"
"Go change your clothes, you'll be done soon."
Aunt Zhang's wontons are the best!
Shi Shi happily ran to change her clothes. When she came down in her comfortable loungewear, she saw two bowls of steaming wontons on the dining table. Bright green scallions and golden dried shrimp floated on the surface of the soup, along with a few drops of sesame oil, giving it an enticing aroma. Shi Shi couldn't wait to sit down, picked up a spoon, scooped up a wonton, and put it in her mouth. The delicious broth instantly exploded on her taste buds, and she squinted her eyes in satisfaction.
Fu Yingzhou sat beside her, watching her tenderly, occasionally handing her tissues. Shi Shi was enjoying her meal when she suddenly remembered something and asked, somewhat indistinctly, "Have you eaten?"
Fu Yingzhou smiled and nodded: "We had dinner together tonight."
How could anyone possibly eat well in such an occasion!
Shi Shi felt a little guilty, so she offered to cook another bowl of wontons for Fu Yingzhou, but Fu Yingzhou pressed her down into a chair, saying, "I'll cook more for you. I'm not hungry, I'll just eat what you leave behind."
Before meeting Shi Shi, Fu Yingzhou never imagined he would one day be the one to finish all the leftovers. Shi Shi is the typical person with big eyes and a small stomach. Fu Yingzhou devoured the eight or nine leftover wontons.
A warm feeling welled up in her heart; this year, because of him, it became exceptionally warm.
The saying "When people are well-fed and warm, they think of lust" holds true. Shi Shi's master bedroom bathroom was incredibly soundproof; she couldn't hear a thing, which only fueled her imagination. She imagined water pouring over his body. She noticed the room was a bit warm; otherwise, why would it be so hot?
Fu Yingzhou's hair was half-dry. After leaving the bathroom, he walked towards the bed. He saw Shi Shi lying on the bed, propping her head up with one hand and tilting her head to look at him.
"I told you not to wait for me, why aren't you asleep yet?" He casually rubbed Shi Shi's head.
Shi Shi hooked her other hand around his belt and pulled him down. Fu Yingzhou was caught off guard and landed directly on top of Shi Shi.
Shi Shi recently switched to a rose-scented shower gel, and now she smells wonderfully floral.
Fu Yingzhou was stunned for a moment, then reacted, looking at Shi Shi who was so close to him, her eyes sparkling with a hint of shyness and anticipation. His heart skipped a beat.
Shi Shi blushed and mustered her courage to give him a light peck on the lips. Fu Yingzhou felt a jolt of electricity run down his spine. He forced himself to stay calm and asked, "Aren't you tired?"
"A strong woman can't complain about being tired!"
His heartache shattered instantly, and he slowly lowered his head, responding to her tenderly and passionately. The atmosphere in the room became ambiguous and intense, fireworks bloomed outside the window, and colorful lights shone faintly through the curtains.
In the murmur of the poem, Shi Shi also heard the line: "It is my wish, but I dare not ask."
After an unknown amount of time, the two separated. Shi Shi's face was as red as a ripe apple. She buried herself in Fu Yingzhou's arms, not daring to look into his eyes.
Fu Yingzhou gently patted her back, his voice low and tender: "After being together for so long, you still like to be shy. Is there any part of you I haven't seen before?"
Shi Shi didn't even raise her head, and burrowed into the covers. A muffled voice came out: "This is my wish, to be with you forever."
In the quiet night, even the faintest sound could be heard clearly, and Fu Yingzhou felt his heart soften like a pool of water, ready to be molded into any shape by Shi Shi.
Shi Shi didn't sleep for long, only five hours before getting up.
Kong Fang came to pick up Shi Shi. After kissing Fu Yingzhou goodbye, Shi Shi went to Tu Ming first, and then to Hongren Manufacturing. She gave generous New Year's red envelopes to the employees on duty at both companies and let them leave work early.
Having read many news reports before her time travel, she learned that performers often wore formal dresses and rode shared bicycles to avoid being late for the Spring Festival Gala due to traffic congestion. Learning from these experiences, she arrived at the Gala venue well in advance.
For programs like hers that are scheduled for later in the show, the opening song and dance, acrobatic, and comedy acts are already waiting in the wings.
She clearly saw that the performers in the opening dance didn't even dare to drink water. Several female singers didn't even dare to sit down, afraid of wrinkling their skirts.
You guys are so curly!
Little did she know, in everyone's eyes, she was the curliest one.
In just six months, both companies have thrived. They've produced countless hit songs and launched the careers of many aspiring singers. Looking at everyone's tense yet focused expressions, Shi Shi couldn't help but smile. She found a corner to sit down, took out her lyric book, and reviewed the lyrics several more times.
Just then, her phone vibrated. It was a message from Fu Yingzhou: "Baby, do your best. I'm watching you from the audience." Shi Shi smiled and replied with a cute emoji.
Not long after, Du Mu arrived, and the two didn't have much to chat about. They went over the lyrics a few more times. Du Mu was mainly doing the work, because the lyrics of this song were very specific, relying purely on the high-pitched and domineering grassland-style high notes.
Soon it was Shi Shi's turn to go on stage. She took a deep breath, straightened her dress, and handed her phone to Kong Fang. She gave Du Mu a reassuring look and calmly walked towards the stage.
As the music began, her voice instantly resonated throughout the Spring Festival Gala venue. Du Mu's fast-paced rap combined with Shi Shi's powerful vocals created an eerie harmony.
"The southernmost blue sea and sky"
Dragons rise from the sea, waves surge.
"This mountain, this river, this painting is like an ink splash"
As their duet came to an end, the audience was captivated by her voice, and the entire venue erupted in enthusiastic applause.
Kong Pan, sitting in the audience, applauded wildly, happier watching her daughter perform than when she performed herself. Every time she saw her daughter, she thought, "No wonder she's my daughter, she's so outstanding!"
Fu Yingzhou was sitting with Liu Xinlang. This was a live broadcast, and Liu Xinlang resisted the urge to smoke, rubbing his fingers together to hold the cigarette. He said to Fu Yingzhou, "When can I attend your wedding?"
"I'll try my best as soon as possible."
Liu Xinlang clicked his tongue inwardly. "Strive," "as soon as possible"—he's even using uncertain words like that. Looks like he's really into it.
