Chapter 57: Just ten songs, easy peasy!

What if?
What if Shi Shi could also write a masterpiece that represents the two sisters?
Shi Shi handed the ten songs she had prepared to Fan Zhuo. The two sisters had always been led by Min Ling, whose musical knowledge was slightly higher than Min Lian's.
The ten songs are "dNA", "I Know", "Brave", "bye bye bye", "New Girl's Prayer", "Love Ya Love Ya", "Buy Buy Buy", and "Joining the Fun".
"The Double Magic of Love" and "Red Dragonfly".
Shi Shi not only provided the lyrics and music, but also had Wu Yinglei record these ten songs for her as demos. However, these songs were written specifically for the two of them, and it's inevitable that her singing alone would feel somewhat lacking. Moreover, she's too "old." She doesn't possess the overwhelming youthful energy that the two sisters exude.
The two sisters immediately loved it. Min Ling liked "I Know" and "Love Ya Love Ya," while Min Lian liked "dNA" and "Buy Buy Buy."
Fan Zhuo also listened to these ten songs, and her feelings were somewhat complicated. They had listened to many songs sent by talented songwriters and producers before, and frankly, the quality wasn't bad. But "suitability" was the most important factor. Most of the songs were too mature for the twins. Shi Shi's songs, however, were different; a vibrant energy emanated from the lyrics and melody. A youthful spirit was palpable.
The most impressive thing is that none of the ten songs are bad. They're all usable!
"We can buy all ten songs. The price is negotiable." They didn't mention a word about the album production.
Song Ming wouldn't give her a chance to gloss over it: "These ten songs are the result of Shi Shi's painstaking efforts. They were tailor-made for the twins. Only Shi Shi truly understands her 'children' in this world. Only we could make this album the best it can be."
Fan Zhu cursed Song Ming in her heart. "What a load of rubbish! Such a short time and all that effort? Song Ming, your studio has no experience in this area. What are you talking about? Why not gain more experience and build up your skills?"
Song Ming looked at him with a disapproving expression: "Everyone starts from scratch. It's precisely because this is our first time undertaking album production that we're being extra careful and attentive. We'll mobilize all our connections and resources to work on the twins' album."
Seeing her stubbornness, Fan Zhuo stopped beating around the bush: "You know, this album of our twins' is very important. I'm not going to give it to you."
Song Ming went even further, taking the demo back from the two sisters and then slamming a confidentiality agreement on the table from her office drawer.
"If you want these ten songs, give them to us along with the production rights. Otherwise, I can sell them to someone else."
The twins are young, and their expressions aren't as composed as Fan Zhuo's. They're not exactly lacking in substitutes in the Chinese music industry. If they were sold to a rival company, they'd be in serious trouble!
"Is there no room for negotiation? Why make things so tense? Even if we only buy the songs, we'll give you a super good price. You can reconsider."
"Fan Zhuo, the quality of the song speaks for itself. I can sell it to anyone and get a good price. Even though Sheng Hui is a big company, it's still far from monopolizing the industry!"
At this point, Fan Zhuo knew there was no point in continuing the discussion. She definitely had to buy the song; otherwise, why keep it to promote her rival? Now, she could only hope that the other party truly had the ability to produce a good album.
Having figured it out, she quickly changed her expression: "Then I'll leave it to you. I'll have someone from my company contact you later, and you can prepare a quote."
There's a fixed amount of money they can get for producing an album, especially since they're a new company. Getting the production rights to their songs is already the limit. If they ask for anything more outrageous, Sheng Hui won't agree.
The collaboration was "happily" finalized. Shi Shi's mood improved significantly. Only the musicians remained.

Monday Kyoto University
"Hello, Teacher Shi."
Looking at the well-behaved boy in front of her, Shi Shi felt a little uncomfortable. She had only gone out to relax, and she'd been seen by a student. Her luck was truly terrible. Adhering to the principle that as long as she wasn't embarrassed, it was someone else's problem, Shi Shi maintained a calm demeanor. She nodded reservedly.
Hello, classmate.
"I didn't introduce myself to you last time. I'm Fu Jizhou. I'm a student from the class next door." He then pointed to the classroom next door.
"What do you need me for?"
Fu Jizhou appeared obedient, but his heart was racing. She was so cool! Sweet and cool at the same time! And so talented! Wasn't she the lead singer they were preparing for their band? And once you follow someone, you know everything about them. He was, after all, the third young master of the Fu family.
"Is Teacher Shi's company hiring musicians?"
Shi Shi looked at him in surprise: "How did you know?"
"Let's talk somewhere else."
Both of them were very good-looking and were popular figures at school. Within a few words, many students were already looking in their direction.
Shi Shi nodded, indicating that he should come to her office.
Shi Shi opened the office door and put down what she was holding. "Have a seat." She then poured two glasses of water and handed one to him.
"Teacher, you may not know this, but the music scene in Kyoto is only so big. The ones you can find are all third-rate musicians. Only they take on casual gigs. The ones who are doing well either open advanced training classes and teach others. The remaining top-tier musicians either form their own bands or have established partnerships with record companies."
Hearing him say that, Shi Shi understood: "You didn't come to me just to say this, did you?"
"You know nothing about my abilities."
Shi Shi: ? ? ?
"What kind of ability? Turning two-wheel drive into four-wheel drive? Or can it unleash superpowers?"
I never expected you to be like this, Shi Shi.
"Just a musician, that's all I am."
Shi Shi knew the boy in front of her. He had become a sensation as soon as he entered the school, immediately being crowned the school's most handsome guy. Moreover, he had even pulled some "special" rules during military training. How could such a mysterious and handsome man not attract attention? There were countless posts about him on the school forum. During military training, countless girls wanted to pursue him, but he didn't even glance at any of them, his attitude towards girls so cold it was as if ice cubes were falling from the sky.
I never expected him to come looking for me; he's a musician, too.
"Fu, although my company isn't very big, we have high standards for musicians." Although Shi Shi knew that his willingness to volunteer meant he might actually be quite capable, she still had to be upfront about the potential problems to avoid hurting the boy's feelings.
Fu Jizhou was unusually patient today and didn't mind Shi Shi's questioning: "Do you still have classes? I'll take you to broaden your horizons."
Perhaps it was Fu Jizhou's gaze that was so alluring, because Shi Shi nodded in agreement.
