"Hello, uncles and aunts, my name is Jin He, I am An Yi's wife, and I am twenty-five years old..."

As An Yi drove, he saw Jin He still holding a piece of paper, turning it over and over in his hand. The paper was so worn out that the edges were frayed, yet he was still reciting it. An Yi couldn't help but feel speechless.

"Hey Jin He, where did your charming and charismatic aura from your younger days go?"

"What do you know? Is my ability to get along with everyone just a natural talent? Every time I go out drinking with a big shot, I have to be fully prepared. Otherwise, why would they be interested in talking to me? Because of my looks?"

An Yi glanced sideways at Jin He, who was sitting in the passenger seat, looking like she could be dragged out for a fashion shoot in a heartbeat without even a smudge of makeup, and whispered, "Why can't she rely on her looks..."

"Idiot, those big shots are all shrewd. They can get a pretty face with a flick of their fingers. What I want is cooperation, do you understand cooperation?" Jin He said calmly. "You wouldn't understand even if I told you. Just focus on driving."

An Yi: "Oh."

The car slowly stopped in front of the villa. An Yi opened the trunk and took out his things as usual, but today Jin He was unusually attentive. She rushed over and took the large and small gift bags in her hands, and gave An Yi a very arrogant look.

Jin He: "I'll carry it."

An Yi didn't try to steal Jin He's credit. Anyway, the things weren't heavy, and carrying a little wouldn't tire him out. So he followed Jin He into the house. His parents had been waiting for a long time. An Huaiqian quickly had the nanny take the gifts from Jin He's hands.

"The last time I saw you was at the hospital. You were unconscious then. An Yi told me you're feeling much better recently and have already started working." An Huaiqian smiled and personally handed them both a pair of slippers. Jin He was flattered and nodded to the two of them, "Hello, Uncle. Hello, Aunt."

Jiang Shuyi invited him to sit down quickly, drink some hot water, and eat some fruit. Although Jin He had seen many big occasions, he was still a little nervous. His bracelet beeped, and An Yi looked down at it, sighed, and said, "Mom and Dad, just one word: do you agree or not?"

"Um?!"

Jin He clutched her heart, looking at An Yi with a helpless expression. Her parents were also startled by the boy's blunt statement.

"You little rascal, are you going to get straight to the point like this?"

Jin He pressed down on An Yi's hand, her face almost contorted: This bastard, all my painstaking efforts to maintain a good image.

“This shouldn’t be something that Jinhe has to worry about alone. After all, he’s been with me since he was eighteen and has suffered so much over the years. How could I let him suffer like this? You two, tell me if you agree or not… But we’ve booked our tickets to fly abroad next Monday to get our marriage certificate. We can’t stay at home for long.”

"So, what brings you here today...?"

"Just going through the motions."

Jin He: Shut up right now!!!

An Yi shrugged: "Jin He has been very anxious about this matter. In his eyes, my family is perfect. If my situation makes you two sad, he will be unable to eat or sleep. So he had to come and see you."

“He was afraid he wouldn’t be liked by either of you,” An Yi said. “So he barely slept a wink last night, tossing and turning in bed.”

Jiang Shuyi exclaimed "Ah!"

"So you two stop beating around the bush and just say what you think."

Jin He quickly reached out to stop An Yi: How can you talk like that!

An Huaiqian suddenly said gently, "We really like your Xiao He."

Jin He was suddenly stunned.

The two planned to stay at An's house tonight, so An Yi took Jin He back to his bedroom first. Since Jin He hadn't slept well the night before, An Yi quickly told him to go to bed and take a nap.

"My heart is beating a little fast," An Yi said seriously. "Quickly close your eyes and go to sleep."

Jin He sat on the bed and murmured, "My uncle said they... all like me very much."

An Yi was bending down to take off Jin He's socks when he heard this and hummed in response.

"I originally thought I wasn't well-liked by elders."

Upon hearing this, An Yi paused in rolling up Jin He's socks, then said, "How could that be? Who would be blind not to like you? Go to sleep peacefully, I've taken care of things with Mom and Dad."

"But it's not reasonable for me to just lie in bed and sleep on my first day here. I'd better go downstairs and have some hot water with my uncle."

“It’s okay, my parents know about your health condition.” An Yi continued, “You don’t need to worry, they like you very much. Sleep well, they said they’d take you out for Cantonese food tonight.”

Jin He did indeed feel her heart beating a little fast, so she said, "Then I'm going to sleep."

An Yi covered him with a blanket and drew the curtains, plunging the room into darkness. Soon after, Jin He's steady breathing could be heard.

He fell asleep.

An Yi then took his water glass and prepared to go downstairs to get a cup of hot water to keep there for later use. His parents were still sitting there waiting. When they saw their son come down, they quickly got up and asked, "Is he asleep?"

An Yi nodded: "Yeah, he didn't sleep well last night, and his heartbeat was a little off just now, so I quickly gave him some medicine and put him to bed."

"Hasn't his heart condition improved?"

An Yi's expression was grave: "He won't fully recover."

The couple's expressions also turned serious.

“We’ll have to live in constant fear and take meticulous care of him for the rest of our lives,” An Yi said. “So, Mom and Dad, I’m prepared to take care of him for the rest of my life.”

“This is your own business, you can decide for yourself,” Jiang Shuyi said.

“But…” An Huaiqian patted his son’s shoulder, “When you have time, you can bring him home for dinner more often. I think he needs the care of his elders.”

"Okay!"

When Jin He first went home to meet his parents, he slept on An Yi's bed for two hours. When An Yi woke him up, he was very embarrassed, feeling that he had no manners or upbringing at all, and he was already prepared to apologize.

As soon as they came downstairs, An Huaiqian called Jin He over to play chess with him.

"Uncle..." Jin He scratched his head, a little embarrassed, "I don't know how to play chess."

"You don't know how to play Connect Four?"

When Uncle An pulled Jin He over to play Connect Four, he was completely numb. As he played, his mind was a jumbled mess.

What's going on? I heard from An Yi that Uncle An is a university professor, shouldn't he play Go or chess? Gomoku? Are you serious?

“I won,” An Huaiqian said.

"Uncle is a master of chess." Jin He smiled slightly.

"Oh, not at all. It's just that I usually get the kids in my research group to play chess with me, and nobody pays any attention to me."

Jin He: "..."

They're quite approachable.

"An Yi told me you've been preparing for the college entrance exam lately?"

"Oh, yes, because I missed this year's college entrance exams, I've decided to take the national college entrance exam next June." Jin He became nervous when she mentioned the sensitive topic, afraid that Uncle An, a highly educated man, would laugh at her for not having graduated from high school.

“Oh dear, I heard from An Yi that your academic performance was quite good before. Oh dear, what a pity…” An Huaiqian said, “Are you sure you want to apply to an art college? Based on your academic scores, you could totally apply to a top university in China for a top major.”

"Because I already have things I want to do," Jin He replied, "that's why I chose to take the art exam."

"Well, it's good to have your own pursuits. I wish you all the best."

"Thank you, Uncle."

At this moment, the nanny came over with two coffee cups. Jin He instinctively wanted to refuse when she saw that it was coffee, but when she got closer, she saw that the cups seemed to contain hot juice.

He said "thank you," picked up his cup, and took a sip.
