Chapter 105 Jin He! You just won't listen to me, huh!

At six o'clock in the evening, An Yi's takeout arrived on time. Jin He stopped reading her book and stared longingly as Shen Duoyuan carried the takeout box over.
"Hey? Let's make this clear first." Shen Duoyuan gave Jin He a heads-up beforehand. Jin He had already boiled the hot pot base in hot water. Since Shen Duoyuan couldn't eat spicy food, he could dip the hot pot ingredients into the red oil base. Although the taste would be a bit different, it was better than nothing.
"Just eat a little bit, then change it immediately, otherwise I'll throw away your broth."
Jin He had almost forgotten when she last ate spicy hot pot. It must have been a long time since she had it. The red oil was bubbling and boiling. Jin He slurped up some red oil from her chopsticks.
Cool!
"Don't worry!" Jin He eagerly tossed the potatoes and greens down the table. "I promise I won't eat much, just this much, you see..."
Jin He's hot pot contained only two potatoes, three pieces of cabbage that had been torn apart, and two small green bok choy stalks.
I definitely didn't eat much.
Shen Duoyuan was still a little worried, so he took a bottle of yogurt from the table and told him to drink it first to soothe his stomach. Jin He's eyes were fixed on the bright red hot pot. Seeing that the cabbage should be cooked, he picked it up with his chopsticks and put it in his bowl, but suddenly heard a sound:
"Click"
"Did you hear anything?" Jin He asked warily.
"No."
The soup in the pot was ready. Shen Duoyuan first put some vegetables on Jin He's plate for him to eat. Jin He shrugged, suppressing the strange feeling in his heart, and picked up his chopsticks to scoop out potatoes from the pot.
"I feel a bit chilly, is the window open?"
"Huh?" Shen Duoyuan turned around. "No..."
"That's good. It's probably just getting colder. Let's go for a walk later and open the windows to air out the smell, otherwise An Yi will definitely scold us when he gets back." Jin He lowered her head and took a bite of the soft, spicy potato, her eyes sparkling. "It smells so good!"
Shen Duoyuan stiffly turned his head, his lips twitching: "How about... we don't eat for now?"
"Why?" Jin He took another bite of potato. "Didn't we agree? Not to eat much, not to eat much..."
While eating, Jin He kept chattering, "My mouth has been so bland lately, I can't even eat pickled vegetables. Now that An Yi is finally gone, I have to relax a bit. Hey, you should eat quickly too, so we can open the window to air it out, otherwise An Yi will find out and start nagging again..."
"Jin He..."
"Yes, yes, yes! That's the tone, it's actually quite scary. You imitated it pretty well." Jin He looked up and smiled, but found that Shen Duoyuan's lips were tightly closed and cold sweat was pouring down his face.
"What's wrong? Does your stomach hurt?"
"Jin He!"
Jin He's chopsticks trembled and fell to the ground with a clatter. He exclaimed "Ouch!" and before he could pick them up, he saw An Yi standing at the door, his face ashen, glaring at him through gritted teeth.
For a moment, Jin He almost had a heart attack.
But Jin He desperately wanted to fall ill first, so that An Yi might forget to settle scores with him.
An Yi's expression is terrifying!
“Well…” Shen Duoyuan tried to plead for Jin He, “Please be understanding. Xiao He takes Chinese medicine and Western medicine all day long. Her mouth always smells of medicine. It’s understandable that she wants to eat something stimulating.”
An Yi looked furious, standing there stiffly, the veins on his forehead throbbing. Jin Huoguo was still gurgling, each sound testing An Yi's fragile nerves. Jin He secretly glanced at An Yi.
He glanced at An Yi again.
Then, with lightning speed, he reached out and turned off the pot with a "snap".
An Yi stood there and took a deep breath. Just when Shen Duoyuan thought he was about to throw a tantrum and rub his head in the hot pot, An Yi silently walked to the table, packed all the ingredients into a box, leaving only two shrimp, a box of potatoes, and some lettuce.
Then he packed up the ingredients and base sauce, and handed the box to Shen Duoyuan: "You've worked hard today. Take these back and eat them. I'll make some more food for Jin He later."
His emotions were so stable, it was almost unlike An Yi. Shen Duoyuan looked at Jin He, who was standing silently with his head down, and whispered, "Don't be mean to him, he's pitiful enough."
"I know."
After seeing Shen Duoyuan off, An Yi found a rag and wiped the red oil off the table. Jin He secretly looked up and felt a pang of sadness. Back then, An Yi was the kind of person who wouldn't even pick up a soy sauce bottle if it fell over.
Now she's proficient at everything from washing clothes and wiping tables to cooking. In less than half an hour, she made a dish of lettuce and mashed potatoes, as well as a dish of boiled shrimp. She even peeled the shrimp. When Jin He saw the shrimp, she frowned and was about to pick at them when she looked up and cautiously glanced at An Yi's expression.
Forget it, forget it...
Jin He silently picked up her chopsticks to eat dinner, while An Yi, after finishing the meal, took the hot pot base filled with red oil to the bathroom to empty it. When he came back, he put the pot on the bar counter, sat on the sofa, and started scrolling through his phone without saying a word.
I'm really angry...
Jin He held her chopsticks and turned her head to look, only to see An Yi's cold and hard profile and his tightly furrowed brows.
Should we not be greedy?
Jin He ate the mashed potatoes in his bowl in small bites. An Yi mixed the lettuce and mashed potatoes together, adding some pepper and salad dressing. The flavor was very bland; at least to Jin He, it tasted almost like cement. This was what he had been eating for the past few days…
Oh dear, I should have just not eaten it.
It seems my aunt and uncle were right; I can be quite greedy sometimes.
Jin He thought with some sadness.
The portion of mashed potatoes was small, probably just a small bowl, but it filled Jin He up considerably. Rubbing his stomach, he stood up and paced around the ward for a while. Seeing that An Yi was still looking down at his phone and ignoring him, he tiptoed over and took An Yi's phone away. Just as An Yi looked up at him, Jin He sat on his lap, feeling light and weightless, like a feather, clinging tightly to him.
"I was wrong."
Jin He hugged An Yi's neck and whispered in his ear, "Don't be angry, I won't eat it anymore."
An Yi didn't say anything, but simply put his hands under Jin He's armpits, lifted him up, placed him on the sofa, closed the door, and left.
Jin He: "???"
Why? !
Oh no, I can't even appease her?!
Jin He quickly chased after him and saw An Yi rushing into the hospital's fire escape. Puzzled, Jin He peered closer and, through a small crack in the door, saw An Yi pointing at a fire hydrant and starting to curse.
"Jin He! What did you promise me! You think I can't control you anymore?! Don't you know your own body?! You want to eat everything! Why don't you just eat me instead! With your weight and build, do you look like some kind of refugee? Even when no one bothers you, you throw up a couple of times! And now you're thinking about eating spicy hot pot! You look like a spicy hot pot! Do you know how much effort I've put into maintaining my health? I'm a perfectly good rich kid, and I'm practically a culinary master! I cook all sorts of delicious food for you every day, and you're still picky! And now you want to eat hot pot while I'm not around! What's the difference between eating hot pot and eating a knife with your terrible stomach! You, you..."
An angry An Yi stormed out of the door, cursing at the fire hydrant until he felt completely relieved. Then he straightened his clothes, cleared his throat, and walked out feeling refreshed.
