There were five mentors sitting in the panel, many of whom were familiar faces, though Jin He really didn't want to admit it...

The one sitting in the very center is An Yi—his former teammate. The cool and arrogant guy sitting next to An Yi, dressed in trendy brands, is the show's rap mentor, who can also be considered An Yi's junior. He debuted two years later than them, and a few years ago, when I saw him backstage, I had to bow and call him senior.

The girl on the left is said to be from a girl group, having debuted overseas. Jin He isn't familiar with her; she's here as a vocal mentor.

He didn't recognize the other two people; they were probably newcomers who had only recently become popular.

The trainees just joined the group today and are about to prepare their individual tracks for the audition recording. In the director's words, "Use whatever skills you have here." This segment is very important and directly affects the class assignment results for the next month.

The mentors will categorize the trainees into four levels: A, B, C, and F, based on their performance this time. Therefore, if they prepare well for this appearance, they will receive more attention in the future.

The recording hall had been set up long ago, and the stage and lighting equipment were top-of-the-line. Upon entering the hall, one could see a ceiling that was over ten meters high. The stage had a glass floor that was also very slip-resistant. Ninety seats were arranged from top to bottom, with the top seat designed like a throne. When the lights were turned on, it shone brilliantly.

The trainees sat down one by one, chattering amongst themselves. Jin He was probably the only one who came to the show alone. He sat in a corner like a lonely old man, as if something had shut him out. He didn't seem to mind. He pulled a thermos from under his chair, unscrewed it, and blew on it to warm it up.

The stage lights hadn't been turned on yet. As they were whispering, a spotlight shone on the stage, silencing them. The members looked in the direction of the light and saw a man appear out of nowhere on the stage.

"Wow!!!"

The students erupted in cheers, standing up to cheer.

"Teacher An! That's An Yi! An Yi! Ah!!!"

The person sitting next to Jin He stood up, jumping for joy, slapping the shoulder of the person next to them: "My god, that's An Yi! My idol!!!"

Jin He: "..."

I didn't know that was An Yi!

An Yi was dressed exceptionally dignifiedly today, wearing a white shirt with the top button slightly undone, and simple black suit pants. What was most outrageous was the pair of half-rimmed glasses perched on his nose, giving him a dignified yet flamboyant look.

An Yi simply smiled and made a quiet gesture, and the cheers stopped abruptly.

"Good morning, everyone. I'm your trainee mentor, An Yi." An Yi held up his host cue cards. His eyes looked intimidating, the kind of gentle, almond-shaped eyes that could easily fool those who didn't know him, making them think he was some kind of benevolent person. When he first debuted, some fans said he looked like he had a good temper and should be a gentle idol.

Then, during the years An Yi spent in the entertainment industry, he successfully made a name for himself as the "living father of the Chinese entertainment industry".

"I am honored to be your mentor. During this period before your debut, you can come to me with any questions you have, and I will answer them patiently." An Yi said, "In the next three months, you will be preparing for a theme song recording, three performance stages, and our final debut battle. Only the seven most outstanding people will be able to debut as a group. Do you have that confidence?"

"have!"

An Yi: "Really?"

The trainees: "..."

"Words are just empty talk, so let's prove it with your skills." An Yi glanced at his cue cards and abruptly changed the subject: "Ah, let me introduce your mentors: they are rap mentor Fang Canyang, vocal mentor Song Zhiyu, and dance mentors Yao Zhang and Zhao Qianxi."

Jin He: "..."

He swore that An Yi had absolutely forgotten about this part!

How fresh is that? After all these years in the industry, her variety show skills are still this terrible!

"Alright, the stage is now yours to perform. We look forward to your performance."

The order in which they went on stage was determined by drawing lots. Jin He drew number 17, which was a relatively late position. Since most of the 59 trainees came in pairs and the stage was a collaborative stage, Jin He only prepared one song.

The first to go on stage were his three very aloof roommates, who had prepared their own original dance music.

As soon as the intro started playing, An Yi sat up straight.

As soon as the first person opened their mouth, his eyebrows slowly furrowed.

They claimed to have choreographed and created their own dance routine, but the formation was a complete mess. The person in the middle, who was probably in charge of the dance, was doing a backflip like a whirlwind, and he did one at the beginning.

Students: "Wow!"

One was made in the middle.

The students exclaimed, "Wow!"

Another ending was made.

Members: "Awesome!"

That young dance leader really listened to the director and gave it his all, spinning, jumping, and doing splits. For a moment, the stage was more chaotic than a monkey cage in a circus. The group of young students actually enjoyed it and immediately stretched out their hands and shouted "six".

Jin He: "..."

An Yi: "..."

An Yi, unable to bear it any longer, took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes.

"Hmm..." After the song ended, Song Zhiyu, the dance teacher, hesitated before picking up the microphone.

"I would like to ask, which hero choreographed this... dance?"

"It's me, teacher." Ji Feng walked out confidently, grinning his big teeth. "Because we drew number one, we thought we should warm up the atmosphere first, that is, blow the place away!"

He must have exerted himself too much just now; he's still breathing heavily as he speaks.

"Oh, is that so?" Song Zhiyu shut up and handed the microphone directly to An Yi. She couldn't say anything any harsher.

An Yi took it: "Excuse my bluntness."

Jin He sat up straight: It's coming, it's coming!

An Yi has always had a sharp tongue, and Jin He was prepared for it. When they first debuted together, he was constantly teased by An Yi. Over the years, An Yi's sharp tongue skills have not diminished but increased, probably because he studied cursing during his three years abroad.

Then he watched helplessly as An Yi berated the student who had just come on stage.

"Your stage is utterly devoid of any aesthetic appeal. Are you really proud of your design? Are you performing or doing acrobatics?" An Yi pointed out the problem mercilessly: "You can appropriately showcase your strengths. I think you could have scored points if you suddenly did a somersault in the middle, but what are you doing right now?"

The three young men were so scolded that they couldn't even lift their heads, and they didn't dare to look directly at Teacher An's gentle face.

"But I feel... I should showcase my special talents," Ji Feng said weakly.

"Huh? Being able to do a somersault is a special skill?" An Yi simply couldn't understand what these young people were thinking. "Then why don't we just stop training idols for this show and directly recruit the person who can do the most somersaults in the world online? The winner will be launched into an idol, and the stage will be a 50-meter track for him to do somersaults from beginning to end."

Ji Feng lowered his head, and the members around him, seeing that he was about to become withdrawn from being scolded, reached out and patted his shoulder to comfort him.

"And you, the one who patted my shoulder, Zhang Huahua, right? You were the one who sang off-key just now, weren't you? Doesn't your resume say you've been practicing for two years? How come you're still making such basic mistakes? Have you even been practicing seriously?"

"Teacher, I'm sorry, I was too nervous."

"Is that a reason? Being nervous allows you to sing off-key? Do you really want to tell your audience and fans that? If that's the case, do you think you're still suitable to be an idol? With more stages to perform on in the future, will you be nervous on every single one?"

The trainees: "..."

Help! Help me!
