"Slow down." After crossing the road, Chu Yuan almost tripped on the steps again, and Shen Xizhou reached out to help her a second time.

It was autumn, and she was wearing a close-fitting sportswear that was neither too thick nor too thin. His hands carried a faint warmth that seeped through the fabric onto her skin, warm and strong.

It was clearly just a simple, ordinary act of kindness, yet it inexplicably stirred up one's thoughts.

Chu Yuan sat down next to the stool, raised her chin, and asked, "Judge Chen, why aren't you sitting down?"

Her top had a V-neck, and as she sat down, the man, standing tall and elegant at 1.85 meters, caught her eye with a casual glance, revealing her fair and alluring charm.

Shen Xizhou originally didn't want to sit, but now he had no choice but to sit down, with a large distance between him and Chu Yuan.

Otherwise it would seem as if he was intentionally taking advantage of the young girl.

Chu Yuan glanced at the clearly defined dividing line between the two, said nothing, and cheerfully said, "Judge Shen, let's begin."

Shen Xizhou, "Why did you choose to apply for the position of court clerk?"

"Hmm?" The man's gentle tone carried a hint of doubt, which made Chu Yuan also feel suspicious.

Will we be found out?

Has her purpose in coming for him become so obvious?

But Shen Xizhou added, "I am the interviewer now, and the question you just asked is one that might appear on the test tomorrow."

Chu Yuan, "..."

I almost wanted to punch myself in the chest. Why didn't you say so earlier? You made her overthink things.

If it's a test question, then the answer is simple!

Chu Yuan didn't need to think much before blurting out, "There are three main reasons why I applied for this position:

1. I believe that judicial work is very sacred, as it can help resolve conflicts, quell disputes, and maintain social stability and peace;

2. I majored in humanities and have a solid foundation in writing, which enables me to perform the duties of a court clerk well. I have always been interested in legal knowledge. After joining the court family, I will work hard to do my job well, strive for the bar exam, and be a good cog in the machine of judicial foundation building.

3. A fair and impartial judge once helped me, guiding my confused life back to a clear path. Therefore, I want to join this group that cultivates kind and virtuous individuals, to cherish my work like him, to be dedicated and conscientious, to develop and improve my abilities, and to help others and give back to society.

After Chu Yuan finished speaking, she was surprised to find that Shen Xizhou had drifted off into thought.

Were they completely captivated by their own supposed righteousness and magnificence?

In fact, Chu Yuan was quite eccentric in her original world.

I started taking civil service exams with my roommates in my junior year of college and even passed the written test, but I gave it up later because I didn't want the flexible hours of a 9-to-5 job.

So how could she not be able to answer these commonplace test questions?

"Judge Shen?" Chu Yuan reached out and gently waved her hand in front of Shen Xizhou, who was lost in thought.

That hand was delicate, white, soft, and boneless, with a pinkish hue, like the adorable paw pads of my cat.

Shen Xizhou almost couldn't resist the urge to pinch it.

Fortunately, he managed to restrain himself in the end, coughed twice with his fist to his lips, and said, "That's fine, just answer like that, there shouldn't be any problems."

“But your posture…” Shen Xizhou pointed to Chu Yuan’s slightly hunched back, “Be more confident, you’re already great!”

"Is that so?" Chu Yuan tentatively straightened her chest. After being abused by a scumbag, the original owner of this body had been in a state of low self-esteem, hunching over, which occasionally affected her posture.

I never expected Shen Xizhou to be so observant.

It seems they really did prepare her for the interview seriously.

Just then, Chu Yuan felt the warmth of Shen Xizhou's hand for the second time. He gently placed one hand on her back, patiently and gently saying, "Straighten it a little more, or it won't be worth it if you lose points for posture."

Chu Yuan could only try her best to straighten her chest and raise her head.

Even while sitting, Shen Xizhou could vaguely see a pair of arched snow rabbits swaying slightly...

He lowered his eyes, his face flushed, "It's getting late, I have things to do back home."

Anyone who didn't know him would think he was the kind of person who would deliberately act lewdly under the guise of giving a lecture, but he really wasn't!

Since he said that, Chu Yuan didn't want to stop him, so she stood up and gave him a slight bow. "Then Judge Shen, please take care. Thank you for today. Haha, it seems like all I can say in front of you is thank you. I'm not good with words, Judge Shen, please don't mind."

As Chu Yuan bent over, Shen Xizhou suddenly reached out his hand, presumably to stop her, but then sighed and withdrew it.

Chu Yuan caught a glimpse of this out of the corner of her eye and chuckled inwardly.

When he stops pulling his outstretched hand back, that will prove she has succeeded!

Shen Xizhou escorted Chu Yuan to the gate of the residential area.

Chu Yuan was so busy turning around to say goodbye that the child in front of her rushed in through the door, which bounced back and was about to hit Chu Yuan when Shen Xizhou suddenly took a few quick steps forward and raised his hand to brace against the door.

With a helpless tone, he said, "Don't look behind you when you walk, look ahead!"

Chu Yuan stuck out her tongue sheepishly and brushed past Shen Xizhou.

His hand was stretched out so high that a faint, elegant aura wafted over, as if enveloping me in his embrace.

Chu Yuan's oval face flushed slightly as she stood behind the railing and quietly thanked them again.

Without waiting for Shen Xizhou's response, he turned and jogged into the apartment building.

Shen Xizhou shook his head as he watched her movements. She was indeed a little girl whose temperament had not yet fully developed. She walked with a bouncy gait, like a rabbit. Little did he know that at his age, he wished he could take every step steadily and firmly.

The interviews started at 9:30 the next day.

Chu Yuan got up at seven o'clock, dressed up, and combed her hair into a high ponytail, looking energetic and capable.

Her captivating phoenix eyes have an upturned corner that exudes charm and allure.
