"Long time no see, Drogo."
Draco suddenly opened his eyes, panting heavily as he touched his chest. The wound on his chest had healed, and it still emitted a mesmerizing green light.
He looked in the direction of the sound and saw a white-haired female elf smiling at him.
“Teacher Lingwu…” Drogo gasped for breath, realizing that he had been killed by Kyryat.
"Holy elixir, what merit do I have to be saved by you with this precious thing?"
Lingwu smiled and stroked Drogo's face: "Mother Goddess Isa has been revived, and all the children of the elves will be recalled."
"And Mother Goddess, she heard your prayers..."
"Tell me about it?"
"Who...did you meet?"
...
Location: Orwick City
This is a town with a long history. Legend has it that after the war between the demon gods, the hero Tilan proposed a knightly contract to a nobleman of the kingdom.
A perfectly fair knightly duel is wagered on the town itself.
Without a doubt, Tiran defeated the nobleman, and the king, in accordance with the contract, granted the city to Tiran.
Legend has it that this is where Tilan was born.
The town is located near the southernmost part of the mainland, and the ocean can be seen not far away.
Kelyat entered the town under cover of darkness, carrying the Tilan family's investiture medal, and would be respected as long as he remained within the territory.
He wasn't in a hurry to bring Elsie back to his family; at the very least, he wanted to visit his first lord along the way.
In a corner of town stands a manor, the place where Alcardo Tiran retired.
The guard at the gate took the reins from Kelyat and pulled Izer toward the stables.
Then he took Elsie to the castle.
...
"Long time no see, Kelyat!" An elderly man dressed in magnificent black clothes gave Kelyat a hug.
Kelyat knelt down on one knee, picked up Elsie, and said, "I have not failed you, my lord."
“Oh, no, please don’t do this.” Ecardo helped Kelyat up and said, “I have already resigned from my position as head of the family.”
"Now I just want to live out my old age in peace with some of the taxes from this small town."
Since the family made a name for themselves on the southern battlefield, the king made Ekado a duke, while the title of earl was given to Allen.
Not long after, Aika grew old and gave almost all of the family territory to Ellen, while he retired to the city of Orwick.
He looked at Elsie and suddenly exclaimed with delight, "This is my granddaughter. Come here and let Grandpa hold her."
He picked up Elsie, but frowned as he stared at the sharp fangs in her mouth.
Kelyat used his eyes to scare away the servants beside Ekado.
Suddenly, Ekado's eyes turned white, which scared Elsie so much that she almost wet her pants!
Soon, his eyes returned to normal, but the worry between his brows remained.
He glanced down the corridor, making sure only he and Kyryat were there, before saying, "The Tiran bloodline is only one-tenth."
“Praise Tilan.” Kelyat clenched his right fist and placed it on his chest.
Aicardo shook his head and smiled bitterly: "It's already very difficult to obtain even one-tenth of the bloodline."
“Kelyat, I’ll trouble you to go and invite Witch Rig.” Ecardo held up one finger and said, “I’ll be waiting for you in the conference room. Be quick.”
“The Witch Rig?” Kelyat recalled his visit to Alcado a few years ago.
During the frosty season, Ekador took in a gray-haired witch and helped her conceal her magical aura, thus avoiding capture by the Sanctuary.
In the years that followed, she was arranged to live in a cabin in the woods.
"Yes, I'll go right away!"
"Hey! Wait!" Ekado called out to Kyryat, then pulled a bloodstained gold coin from his pocket: "Give her this and tell her she won."
Kelya nodded and held the gold coin in his palm.
...
Alcado's estate is vast, encompassing several mountain ranges connected to the town.
Guided by the forest rangers, Kelyat soon arrived at the secluded dwelling of the witch Rig.
Surrounded by mountains on all sides, with streams flowing through them, the area is so safe that virtually no one would venture into the forest without permission, thanks to Alcado's ban.
Kelyat walked along the path until he reached a house made of a giant tree.
He knocked on the door, and it opened a crack, allowing Kyryat to see a pair of wary eyes.
With his gray hair, Rig seemed to recognize Kyliat, after all, he had helped her buy winter clothes during that time.
"Please come in, Mr. Kyryat." After confirming that there was no danger, Rig led him into the cabin.
The wooden house didn't feel decayed; though not as luxurious as a noble house, it had a unique, warm atmosphere.
Being in such a sunny room, Kyriat almost felt a few years younger.
"Please have some tea." Rig handed hot tea to Kyriat.
"Long time no see, Rig." Kyryat greeted him, then looked at the tea and complained, "I can't drink this on such a hot day."
Unexpectedly, Rig calmly put the still-boiling tea into his mouth.
“I can’t compare to you; you magicians are truly amazing,” Kelyat joked.
Rig shook his head and said, "It's still too cold."
"Cold?" Kyryat recalled the scene of Ecardo bringing back Rig.
I heard that Rig was being hunted by the Sanctuary at that time and had nowhere else to go, so he came to Orwick City.
At that time, she was extremely thin, dressed in tattered clothes, and was almost thrown into prostitution by thieves in the alley.
If Alcardo hadn't happened to be passing by, she probably wouldn't have survived.
In this matter, Ekado also told Kyleat that he originally did not care about Rig's life or death, until that day, the day Rig was about to be dragged away by the thieves.
He only decided to save Rig after accurately revealing Tilan's secret that he was a time traveler.
"It's still the hottest time of the year, how could it be cold?"
“No…” Rig trembled all over as she looked north and said, “Winter is coming.”
“It’s that line again.” Kyleat had been repeating this line ever since she last saw Rig.
When asked what exactly this "winter" meant, she refused to answer.
“Take a look at this first!” Kyryat showed the blood-stained gold coin from his pocket.
Before he could even speak, Rig pounced on him like a wolf and snatched the gold coins!
She lay on the floor, examining the bloodstained gold coin repeatedly, her eyes wide and her breathing becoming increasingly rapid.
Kyleat was really afraid that she would suffocate because she couldn't breathe!
"Duke Alcardo said, 'You have won.'"
Rig turned to stare at Kyryat and said, "The prophecy came true, didn't it?"
Kylyat frowned: "What prophecy?"
Suddenly, Rig's eyes turned red, a sight that startled Kyleat like a vengeful ghost.
However, it only took a short while before Rig returned to normal.
She stood up and said to the gold coin, "I once foresaw a disaster and presented it to Duke Alcordo as a token of my prediction."
"The day the Blood Child is born is the day the primer replaces the curse."
She stroked the bloodstains on the gold coin, looked at Kyleat and said as if guessing, "Is it a vampire?"
"You mean... Princess Elsie?" Kelyat recounted what had happened outside.
Rig doesn't seem to know anything about what's going on outside.
She waved her hand, stopping Kyriat from continuing.
"These all match my prophecies perfectly. The disaster is real. The Child of Blood has arrived. Winter will come, it will definitely come..."
