Just then, Mr. Xu saw his son come out of the kitchen and quickly spoke up.

"Wenhua, this is the first time your little sister and her friends have come to our village! Why don't you do them a favor and show them around so they can get to know our environment?"

After speaking, Xu's father smiled and looked at Xu Wenhua, his eyes full of expectation.

Xu Wenhua understood his father's meaning. He didn't dislike her when he first met her and genuinely wanted to get to know her better.

Meanwhile, Shen Xiaoxiao kept her head down, seemingly shy, and didn't dare to look Xu Wenhua in the eye.

She pondered to herself, "Could this really be the irresistible power of the plot that Jun Yanluo spoke of? No matter how hard I try to change it, can I ultimately only follow its predetermined path?"

Thinking about this, Shen Xiaoxiao's mood became increasingly heavy, but she didn't know what to do.

Suddenly, Xu Wenhua's voice was heard, "Xiao Chuan, I'll take you and your siblings around."

Shen Xiaochuan smiled and nodded in agreement, then said gently to Shen Xiaoxiao, "Little sister, let's go! Let's go out for a walk and relax."

As he spoke, he reached out and grabbed Shen Xiaoxiao, who was still lost in her thoughts, and led her towards the door.

And so, the three of them slowly walked out of the Xu family's gate.

Walking at the front was Xu Wenhua. He was tall and straight, with a steady gait. The sunlight shone on him, as if gilding him with a golden glow.

Shen Xiaoxiao, who was following behind, stared intently at Xu Wenhua's back, as if two little people were fiercely fighting in her heart.

At this moment, Shen Xiaoxiao's inner world was in turmoil.

Her face would sometimes flush with a shy blush, like a peach blossom just beginning to bloom in spring; at other times, she would reveal a ferocious expression, like the gloomy sky before a storm.

Her complex and ever-changing expressions made it difficult to guess what she was thinking.

Shen Xiaochuan, who was watching his younger sister's every move, quickly noticed her unusual behavior.

He approached Shen Xiaoxiao with concern and asked softly, "Little sister, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

Upon hearing Shen Xiaochuan's concerned inquiry, Shen Xiaoxiao instantly snapped out of her daze, trying her best to suppress the strange expressions on her face and appear calm.

"Brother, I'm fine now, you don't need to worry about me." Shen Xiaoxiao said softly, shaking her head slightly, her long, flowing hair swaying gently.

She forced a smile, trying to hide the turmoil and unease surging within her.

Shen Xiaochuan, however, was not so easily fooled by his sister's words. His gaze was fixed on her face, as if trying to see through her delicate features to uncover the secrets hidden in her heart.

After careful observation, seeing that his sister's complexion did not appear to be sick, his anxious heart finally calmed down a little.

Even so, Shen Xiaochuan was still able to keenly sense that his sister must have encountered some troublesome situation.

But at this moment, she didn't seem willing to confide these troubles to me.

Xu Wenhua, who was walking ahead, heard the siblings talking and turned around to look at them.

When he saw Shen Xiaoxiao, his eyes showed concern: "What's wrong? Are you not feeling well? If so, why don't we go back and get some rest?"

A bright smile instantly bloomed on Shen Xiaoxiao's face, and she quickly waved her hand in response, "Oh, really, it's not necessary! I'm perfectly fine, nothing's wrong with me."

Before she finished speaking, she walked briskly towards Xu Wenhua's direction and arrived beside him in the blink of an eye.

Immediately afterwards, Shen Xiaoxiao and Xu Wenhua began to chat warmly. The two would sometimes look at each other and smile, and sometimes whisper to each other, creating a particularly harmonious atmosphere.

Standing not far away, Shen Xiaochuan watched this scene unfold and couldn't help but furrow his brows.

Because he could clearly sense that his younger sister was actually very resistant to Xu Wenhua, but why was her face full of joy at this moment?

Moreover, she seemed to really enjoy spending time with Xu Wenhua, as if she couldn't wait to spend more time with him.

With a smile on his face, Xu Wenhua led the group on a leisurely stroll around the peaceful village. Along the way, he greeted every familiar face he encountered with great enthusiasm and introduced the brothers and sisters beside him to them one by one.

Shen Xiaochuan, however, kept his brows furrowed and silently followed behind them. His slightly gloomy expression seemed out of place with the cheerful atmosphere around him.

As they walked, Xu Wenhua suddenly stopped, turned to the two people behind him, and said, "It's almost time, let's go back! The food should be ready soon." As soon as he finished speaking, he took the lead and walked back the way he came.

Shen Xiaoxiao followed obediently behind. Although a faint smile was always on her pretty face, a hint of coldness was revealed deep in her beautiful eyes.

As the older brother of twins, Shen Xiaochuan has been inseparable from his younger sister since childhood.

Whether relying on his unique intuition or observing with his own eyes, he could clearly sense that his younger sister was not happy at the moment.

And so, the three of them entered the Xu family's courtyard one after the other.

"Oh, you're finally back! Hurry up and wash your hands and get ready for dinner. If you had been any later, I would have gone out to look for you."

With a joyful expression, Xu's mother quickly stepped forward, affectionately took Chen Xiaoxiao's little hand, and walked into the house together.

Before long, everyone took their seats at the dining table. The table was laden with a dazzling array of delicious dishes.

Not only are there tempting dishes made from plump pheasants and rabbits hunted by Xu Wenhua himself, but also... some homegrown vegetables.

"Brother Shen, have a drink. This is my son Wenhua's. He brought it back from the army, but he's never been willing to drink it. Let's drink it today." Xu's father took out a bottle of Moutai.

"Wow, Moutai! This wine is too expensive. Let's save it for next time when our guests come," Shen Zishan quickly refused.

“Your family is my honored guest,” Xu’s father said, then unscrewed the bottle cap and poured a glass for Shen Zishan.

Shen Zishan brought the wine to his nose and smelled it, exclaiming, "Indeed, this is fine wine! The aroma is rich and mellow." He then took a small sip, his eyes lighting up. "Truly excellent wine! The taste is smooth and mellow; no wonder it's Moutai!"

Seeing this, Xu's father laughed and poured more for the others.

Shen Xiaoxiao picked up the tea in front of her and took a big gulp.

Thank you, Mr. Sha from South Sudan, for your generous support!
