A black Bentley was quietly parked in a corner of the parking lot downstairs from Dr. Wan's house.

Fu Senran sat in the driver's seat, his knuckles lightly tapping the steering wheel. He closed his eyes, not daring to look at Zi Xi. He was really afraid that he might impulsively say something he shouldn't have.

Zi Xi also silently lowered her head to look at the report that indicated she was two weeks pregnant, but in reality, she was thinking about what to say to Fu Senran so that he wouldn't reject the child.

She coughed lightly, preparing to speak, but Fu Senran took off his suit jacket and covered her with it, then immediately and nervously checked the temperature of the car's air conditioning.

"I...we didn't date for very long, and getting married and registering our marriage was very rushed, but when I met you, I was already thinking about how good-looking and cute our future children would be."

"They are not just the continuation of our bloodline, but the fruit of our love."

"So... Sen Sen, my dear husband, let's welcome him/her here together, okay?"

The air was still for a few seconds.

Zi Xi pursed her lips, preparing to continue, "It's understandable that you'd be angry, but I..."

Fu Senran stared at the paper in her hand and suddenly chuckled softly.

“I’m angry. I’m angry that I didn’t take birth control pills properly, and you still have to suffer like this.”

He looked up, his dark eyes swirling with self-reproach she couldn't decipher.

Zi Xi was stunned.

"I checked all the data, calculated all the possible probabilities, and even booked the surgery..."

"But in the end, I realized that what I was really afraid of was not those things at all."

His voice was low and hoarse, as if he were mocking himself.

Zi Xi looked at him quietly.

"What I'm afraid of is... I'm afraid of becoming like my mother."

Zixi, like her father, would be eager to escape from his side, and he might lose control and do something wrong to her.

He paused, his Adam's apple bobbing, but Fu Senran didn't dare to say the last sentence.

She was afraid that she would use the child as a bargaining chip to bind Zixi, and that she would become that hysterical mother who constantly talked about how much he had sacrificed for the child.

Zi Xi suddenly reached out and gently stroked his brow bone with her fingertips, slowly smoothing out his furrowed brows. She whispered, "Senran, you won't become like her."

He looked up at her, his eyes seeming to ask why.

"Because... you don't even dare to show your true self in front of me. You're so cowardly... with me here, how could you become like her?"

She leaned closer and affectionately rubbed her nose against his.

How could such a kind big wolfhound turn into that?

Fu Senran's breath hitched slightly. The next second, he suddenly grabbed the back of her neck, pressed his forehead against hers, and asked in a hoarse voice, "If I really become like that one day in the future, will you still stay by my side...?"

Zi Xi interrupted him with a deep kiss, then replied breathlessly, "I already told you, I'm here, you won't become like that."

Fu Senran's eyes darkened, and just as he was about to refute her words, she added, "Only death can separate us."

He stared at her for a few seconds, his voice low and chuckled, then lowered his head and kissed her lips.

"good."

He whispered on her lips, "Only death will separate us."

The sun was shining brightly, and the car stereo had started playing variations of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" sometime during the night.

The faint scent of sandalwood still lingers in Dr. Wan's home, and sunlight filters through the blinds, casting delicate shadows on the floor.

This time, however, it wasn't just Mr. Fu who was seeing a doctor.

Zi Xi sat on the soft sofa, with Fu Senran close beside her. His knuckles were slightly white as he clasped his hands on his knees, his eyes fixed on Dr. Wan, as if he were on guard against the other party reporting to Zi Xi at any moment.
