Wang's sister-in-law was a little plump, so it wasn't easy for her to squeeze through the hole. After seeing that Shu Ying had come over, there was still no movement for a while, so the other sisters-in-law waiting outside could only call out to her through the wall.

Shu Ying squatted down, wanting to crawl back into the hole, when she heard a series of rapid breathing sounds around her.

She poked her head out and replied, "We haven't found it yet, so you don't need to rush over. I heard some noise, so I'll go check it out first."

Sister-in-law Wang nodded repeatedly, "Okay, okay, then tell us if you have any news."

Shu Ying walked around the bushes and looked down to find Shi Tou curled up, hugging his legs with both hands, lying dazed on a pile of weeds. The lush grass around him just happened to hide him, and it would be difficult to find him unless one was extremely careful.

The stone murmured softly, "Cold, so cold..."

Shu Ying immediately squatted down, carefully placing one hand on his forehead, her heart instantly leaping into her throat.

"How come the fever is so high? We need to get him to the hospital right away."

The child had been burning up for who knows how long; his body felt as if it were on fire. Yueyue stood beside him, her eyes reddening, her little mouth pursed, and tears began to stream down her face.

"Brother Stone, what's wrong? Wake up, Mom! Is Brother Stone seriously ill?"

Shu Ying patted her head. "Yueyue, don't worry, Brother Shitou will get better soon. We need to take him to the hospital right away. The doctor will cure him."

She carefully picked up the stone from the ground. Perhaps feeling the long-lost warmth, the stone mumbled sleepily, "Mommy, you've come to pick me up, Mommy."

Shu Ying couldn't hide her heartache. Her eyes were red, and she turned her face away, not daring to look at the stone any longer.

The child was so sick, yet he was still calling for his mother, which shows how much he had suffered.

He curled up, trying to find the most secure position.

Shu Ying held the stone protectively in her arms and let Yueyue climb into the cave first. After she brought the child in, Yangyang also came over with Xie Zhiyan and his group.

Seeing the child in his arms, Xie Zhiyan's expression relaxed a little. "Found him?"

Shu Ying nodded, looking very worried. "I don't know how long the fever has lasted. The child has started talking nonsense now. He probably hasn't eaten or drunk anything for the past few days. We need to take him to the hospital immediately."

If things were better, it might be malnutrition, but if things were worse, Shu Ying didn't dare to think too deeply about it.

This little child, having been outside for so long, was dressed in tattered clothes, and his face was pale, as if he had just been snatched back from the brink of death.

Xie Zhiyan immediately took the child from Shu Ying's arms. "Xiao Xueyi is still leading people east. I'll send someone over to let them know. The hospital has already made arrangements in advance."

Shu Ying felt a sudden lightness in her arms. Shi Tou's eyes were tightly closed, and his lips were dry and chapped. He gently moved his lips, "Mommy, don't go. Please take me with you, Mommy..."

His soft plea felt like it shattered the hearts of everyone else.

Liu Jing couldn't help but tear up, "This child's lips have lost all color, how much suffering has he endured?"

Children of this age are mostly innocent and adorable under the care of their parents, but Shitou has never even seen his birth mother. Perhaps his mother's face is already blurred in his dreams, but no one can provide him with shelter.

Sister Wang wiped away her tears with her sleeve, a strong sense of unease welling up inside her. "What a tragedy! Such a good child has been ruined like this. If this child's biological mother were still alive, how could he be so quiet and withdrawn at such a young age?"

The soft-hearted sister-in-law also wiped away tears. They couldn't bear to see the child suffer, let alone see such a young child having to compromise.

Every family has children, and seeing them inevitably reminds one of their own. Yueyue sobbed softly, "Mommy, Brother Stone will definitely get better, right?"

Shu Ying breathed a sigh of relief, unsure how to explain it to the children.

For a child the size of Shi Tou, the biggest worry is a persistent high fever. They don't know how long the fever has lasted, and even if some children are lucky enough to survive, they may still suffer irreversible sequelae.

She thought that perhaps the spiritual spring water in the space would have some effect, but she didn't know when would be the right time to use it on the stone. She could only wait until she got to the hospital and tried it when there were fewer people.

Yang Suxian and Lü Jie arrived late, and upon seeing the child's current condition, they were so ashamed that they could hardly stand.

Yang Suxian muttered under her breath, "Why does this child look like he's half-dead? If something really happens to him, how angry will Xueyi be?"

Although she didn't like this grandson, she didn't want him to die with her.

She really is a troublemaker; even in death, she can't die peacefully. Even on the verge of death, she still wants to ruin her old woman's reputation.

Liu Jing immediately stepped forward to block the two people's prying gaze.

"What are you all still looking at? Your faces are full of guilt. It's not that you feel guilty towards your children, but that you're afraid that if something really happens to them, you won't be able to take responsibility!"

Liu Jing laid bare their secret feelings, and Lü Jie shrank back like a quail.

“The child has been found now, hasn’t he? He wasn’t lost right under my nose, so what does it have to do with me? The best hospitals are all here, so the doctors will definitely be able to cure him.”

She muttered under her breath, "Besides, whose child doesn't get sick sometimes? If he hadn't sneaked out on his own, would he have gotten such a serious illness?"
