Song Zhaodi got up and was about to pack her things when Shu Ying grabbed her arm and gestured for her to sit down.

Upon seeing this, Ding Rumei's face flashed with displeasure.

Shu Ying calmly met her gaze, her voice indifferent, "There's no need to accept these things. These are what I bought. Zhi Yan and I are of one mind, and I think he'll like good things too. This house is fine as it is now, so there's no need to change anything."

She gave a meaningful reminder: "Zhiyan is a smart adult. He won't dislike what his wife likes, and he won't like people his wife dislikes. If I don't speak up, no one can influence his opinion."

Shu Ying stood up and fixed her gaze on Ding Rumei. "Cousin, you just need to do what a nanny should do. This house has its own master, and I don't like others interfering in my life."

She spoke with a smile, but her voice didn't sound warm or friendly.

"You probably don't know me very well. I'm the kind of person who doesn't appreciate favors and doesn't show any mercy. If you take my money, it's your duty to do a good job. If you don't do a good job, I'll make you return what you took."

Ding Rumei took a step forward, still trying to argue, but Shu Ying stopped her with a look. "Besides, I've always been the one in charge at home. Here, everything is based on my opinion."

Even if Xie Zhiyan were here, she would say the same thing.

Ding Rumei originally intended to make a show of force, but she didn't expect to end up shooting herself in the foot.

Shu Ying looked at Song Zhaodi and said, "Sister Song, you've been here for a while now and you're familiar with our family's affairs. Why don't you show this cousin around our customs and help her adapt to local traditions?"

She emphasized the last few words, and Ding Rumei looked somewhat reluctant. Just as she was about to say something, Shu Ying got up and went outside.

She smiled gently and waved to the two children, Yueyue and Yangyang, who jogged over.

Shu Ying wiped the sweat from the two children's brows, glanced at the direction of the playground outside, and said, "The food at home isn't ready yet. Yangyang, why don't you take your sister outside to play first?"

The little guy nodded in agreement. The playground has a full range of facilities, with swings and seesaws over there, which many children like to play on.

There weren't many people in line at that time, so the two of them went hand in hand.

Ding Rumei was about to speak when Shu Ying gave her a casual glance, causing Ding Rumei to hesitate and stop speaking.

"My cousin just arrived today and isn't familiar with the house yet, so let's start with the kitchen. She's about to be discharged, and patients need a balanced diet. I'll also know what you can cook."

She was eager to embellish her image, and Shu Ying gave her the opportunity to do so.

Ding Rumei glanced at Song Zhaodi, and was about to tell her to cook, when Shu Ying spoke up first, "Sister Song, you can just go and help out."

The implication was that she didn't need to worry about it.

Ding Rumei, oblivious to the implied meaning in Shu Ying's words, happily went into the kitchen and began to give orders.

She rolled up her sleeves, took a knife, and quickly chopped the vegetables.

At first glance, she does seem to have some skills. Her movements are swift and efficient, without any hesitation. She's probably quite capable at home as well. If it weren't for her arrogant nature, she would be a good helper.

"You don't look like someone who's good at working. In the countryside, you have to be quick with your hands, otherwise people who go to the fields will be starving when they come back."

While she was working, she kept muttering to herself, so Shuying simply sat on the sofa and avoided seeing her.

She adopted a haughty demeanor and looked at Song Zhaodi, who was assisting her, "Although you arrived earlier than me, you are not as skilled as me, so you can only assist me. I am a kind-hearted person. If you were to go to someone else, you would be called stealing their skills. I don't have so many rules. You can learn from me yourself."

She picked up the dishes on the table and began to critique them.

"Come with me to the market tomorrow to buy groceries. In your line of work, you need to know how to save money for your customers. My brother's money doesn't grow on trees. You're only buying things that look nice but are useless."

Song Zhaodi remained silent, listening to the occasional noises coming from the kitchen. Shu Ying turned around and called to her, "Sister Song, my cousin can manage all by herself. Why don't you come and help me? It'll save you from getting in her way in the kitchen. I think my cousin is very capable."

Ding Rumei made a lot of noise in the kitchen; spoons would hit the edge of pots, chopsticks would hit bowls, and the sound of chopping vegetables could be heard outside the yard.

Song Zhaodi couldn't help much inside and was even being criticized, so Shu Ying couldn't stand it and simply called her out.

Song Zhaodi glanced at the kitchen with some concern. "Maybe I should go to the kitchen and keep an eye on things. She's so picky; there probably won't be much food left by the time we eat."

Ding Rumei's strength lies in her words; when it comes to the real issue, she gives a completely different story.

Shu Ying grabbed her arm with one hand, "We'll eat whatever she makes. She gets paid the same as you. If she can't even cook a proper meal, she shouldn't be working here. As she said, my family's money didn't grow on trees, so why should we support such a tyrant?"

From the very beginning, Ding Rumei treated this family as her own. If it weren't for the fact that they were relatives, she wouldn't have put up with it until now.

"Sister Song, don't worry. She might just be a little bad at cooking. We're all family, after all. Even if she had a hundred times the courage, she wouldn't dare to poison us."

Since no one is going to die, she should know who is the master of this house, so that she won't be confused about her identity and status in the future.

Song Zhaodi knew that Shu Ying had something on her mind, so she nodded and said nothing more.

Even with this rare moment of leisure, she wasn't willing to rest. She would either be wiping things down or watering flowers and planting vegetables in the yard.

Ding Rumei, who was busy in the kitchen, belatedly realized that she had slammed the basin she was holding onto the cutting board.

"I'm being enslaved by those evil capitalists! We're all paid the same amount of money, doing the same work, so why can she take a break?"

Ding Rumei was seething with hatred. She had just arrived by train after such a long journey and hadn't even had a chance to catch her breath before Shu Ying immediately asked her to come to the kitchen to cook.

Even if they were strangers, let alone relatives, we should at least give them a chance to breathe, right?
