Chapter 155 Is the Boss a Good Thing?

“Mr. Lu asked Boss Su to prepare some snacks for our distinguished guest. I’ll go with her.” Xiao Sui said, handing over two freshly grilled skewers. “Brother, you’ve worked hard all day. Have a taste. This is Boss Su’s specialty.”

The bodyguard took the skewers, hesitated for a moment, and then said, "Don't worry, I'll take responsibility if anything happens. Brother Qiang knows that too."

The bodyguards finally relented, eating their skewers as they stepped aside to let them pass. Xiao Sui winked at Su Yingxue, signaling her to hurry, while he stayed at the stairwell, chatting idly with the bodyguards to buy time.

Su Yingxue walked quickly to the door of the study on the second floor, gently turned the doorknob, and found that the door was unlocked.

She pushed open the door and went inside. The study was luxuriously furnished, with bookshelves filled with books and a huge safe in the corner. She quickly walked to the safe and entered the password that Xiao Sui had told her: 900517.

With a click, the safe opened! Inside were a considerable amount of cash and jewelry, but the most eye-catching item was a black ledger. Su Yingxue picked up the ledger, opened it, and saw that it contained detailed records of drug dealers' transactions, including the time, location, quantity, and amount of each transaction, as well as the code names and contact information of the contacts behind them.

This ledger is undoubtedly key evidence that will destroy this drug trafficking gang.

She quickly put the ledger into her bosom and was about to leave when she suddenly heard footsteps in the corridor, along with Wang Zhiqiang's voice: "Xiao Sui, where's Su Yingxue? Tell her to hurry up and prepare the dishes; our distinguished guest is waiting."

Su Yingxue's heart tightened; she knew Wang Zhiqiang had come up. She quickly closed the safe, trying to find a place to hide, but apart from the bookshelves and sofa, there was nowhere to hide in the study.

The footsteps grew closer, and just as the study door was pushed open, Xiao Sui suddenly walked in from outside, blocking Su Yingxue's way, and said to Wang Zhiqiang with a smile, "Brother Qiang, Boss Su just finished making the pastries and is about to go downstairs. I'm coming down with her to get them."

Wang Zhiqiang's gaze swept around the study, finally landing on Su Yingxue, his eyes filled with suspicion: "Why is she in the study?"

"Our distinguished guest just said he wanted to see the books in the study, so he asked Boss Su to come and prepare some tea." Xiao Sui lied without batting an eye, and even patted Su Yingxue on the shoulder, "Let's go, our distinguished guest is waiting."

Su Yingxue nodded quickly and followed Xiao Sui outside. But just then, Wang Zhiqiang's gaze fell on the slightly bulging hem of her clothes, and his eyes instantly turned fierce: "What are you hiding in your arms?"

Su Yingxue's heart skipped a beat, and she instinctively clutched her chest. Wang Zhiqiang strode forward, grabbed her arm, and was about to lift her clothes: "Take it out!"

"Brother Qiang, what are you doing?" Xiao Sui immediately stepped forward to stop her. "Boss Su is just a snack vendor, what could she possibly be hiding? Don't scare her and spoil our important guest's mood."

"Enough with the nonsense!" Wang Zhiqiang shoved Xiao Sui aside, his eyes fixed on Su Yingxue. "I've suspected something's off about her for a while now, and I'm going to find out the truth today!"

His hand had already reached the ledger in Su Yingxue's arms. Su Yingxue struggled desperately, but Wang Zhiqiang held her down firmly. At this critical moment, Xiao Sui suddenly pulled out a dagger from behind his back, pointed it at Wang Zhiqiang's lower back, and said in an icy voice, "Brother Qiang, let her go."

Wang Zhiqiang froze, turning back to look at Xiao Sui in disbelief: "Xiao Sui, what... what do you want to do? Are you crazy?"

“I’m not crazy.” Xiao Sui’s eyes were firm. “We can’t touch this woman. What she has is useless to us.”

"You're talking nonsense!" Wang Zhiqiang roared. "She's definitely an undercover police officer, hiding our evidence! Have you been bribed by her too?"

“Brother Qiang, don’t be so stubborn.” Xiao Sui’s voice remained calm. “Boss Lu has already betrayed us. He has long since reached an agreement with the police to make us scapegoats. If you kill her, you will only die faster.”

Wang Zhiqiang clearly didn't believe him and tried to resist, but Xiao Sui suddenly pushed the dagger forward, his tone threatening: "I don't want to kill you, you'd better let her go, or don't blame me for being impolite."

Just as the two were at an impasse, a commotion suddenly broke out downstairs, accompanied by shouts from a bodyguard: "It's bad! The police are here!"

Wang Zhiqiang's expression changed drastically, and he subconsciously turned to look downstairs. Taking advantage of the moment, Xiao Sui shoved him aside and shouted to Su Yingxue, "Hurry! Go through the back door, Captain Lin and the others are already here!"

Knowing she couldn't hesitate any longer, Su Yingxue immediately ran towards the stairwell. Wang Zhiqiang reacted, roaring as he chased after her: "Trying to leave? No way!"

Xiao Sui immediately stopped him, and the two began to fight. Although Xiao Sui was quite skilled, Wang Zhiqiang was tall and strong, and was also carrying a weapon, so he quickly gained the upper hand. Xiao Sui was punched to the ground by Wang Zhiqiang, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, but he still clung tightly to Wang Zhiqiang's leg, preventing him from chasing after Su Yingxue.

"Xiao Sui, you traitor! I'll kill you!" Wang Zhiqiang roared, raising his fist to smash it down on Xiao Sui's head.

Just then, Su Yingxue suddenly turned back, grabbed a vase from the side, and smashed it against the back of Wang Zhiqiang's head. With a "bang," the vase shattered, and Wang Zhiqiang staggered, turning his head to glare fiercely at Su Yingxue: "You bitch, you dare to ambush me!"

"Bang--!"

A deafening gunshot shattered the silence of Blue Bay Villa, followed by a deluge of sirens blaring from all directions, engulfing the entire estate like a tidal wave.

Most of the lights in the villa suddenly went out, leaving only the emergency lights emitting a stark white light that distorted and grotesquely cast the shadows of people moving in the corridor.

"Police! Don't move!"

Lin Xiaoman's roar pierced through the gunfire, carrying an undeniable authority. Clad in bulletproof vest and wielding a submachine gun, she led dozens of anti-drug police officers in a simultaneous assault from the villa's front and side gates. The well-trained team members quickly occupied key intersections, forming a tight encirclement.

The drug dealers, already weakened by the effects of the incompatible food and drugs, were now in complete chaos. Some staggered to reach for their weapons, while others tried to escape in the confusion. The entire villa instantly turned into a smoke-filled battlefield.

As soon as Su Yingxue followed Xiao Sui out of the study, she was startled by the sudden gunshot and instinctively hid behind a pillar in the corridor.

Wang Zhiqiang, who was initially dizzy and had a blurred vision, was instantly driven to a rage by his survival instinct upon hearing the gunshots and sirens.

He suddenly looked at Su Yingxue and saw the corner of the account book peeking out from her arms, and immediately understood everything.

"Who sent you? Good heavens!" Wang Zhiqiang went berserk. But at the same time, his body reacted with discomfort. His stomach ached terribly. He was extremely tense and anxious.
