Chapter 61 Public Apology (4/4)

Time seemed to stand still.

The military wives who were gossiping were stunned, looking at Su Wantang who suddenly appeared, and Li Hongxia who covered her face in astonishment.

"You...you dare hit me?!" Li Hongxia reacted and screamed as she lunged forward.

"I'm hitting you!" Su Wantang's eyes were icy cold, as if they had been tempered with ice. "You spew filth and spread rumors. Who gave you the audacity to curse my child?"

Her voice wasn't loud, but every word was clear, carrying an unassailable air of authority.

Li Hongxia was intimidated by her imposing manner, but then became furious: "I'm spreading rumors? Who in the whole compound doesn't know that your test results were bad? You're carrying a deformed child and you still think you're right? I think you're just feeling guilty!"

“That’s right, Wan Tang, Sister Li is just concerned about you…” someone tried to smooth things over.

"Concern?" Su Wantang sneered, her gaze sweeping over the women who had been listening with great interest. "Cursing my child's bad luck behind my back and telling me to stay away from everyone, is that what you call concern?"

The women felt guilty under her gaze and lowered their heads.

"I...I only heard that!" Li Hongxia tried to argue, "If you're so capable, show me the evidence to prove your child is healthy!"

She was certain that Su Wantang couldn't produce it, after all, her relative had seen the high-risk form at the health center, and it was absolutely true.

Su Wantang looked at her confident face and laughed in anger.

She didn't say anything, but simply unfolded the lab report she had been clutching in her hand in front of Li Hongxia with a "whoosh".

The paper is printed in black and white, with the official red seal of "The First People's Hospital of the City" printed at the top.

The data below are all neatly arranged, and in the final conclusion column, it is clearly stated: Non-invasive DNA testing is low-risk, and everything is normal.

Li Hongxia's eyes were fixed on the test report. Her expression changed from arrogance to astonishment, then to shock, and finally turned deathly pale.

No...that's impossible!

"How is this impossible?" Su Wantang took a step closer, her eyes sharp as knives. "It's written in black and white, are you blind?"

Li Hongxia was so scolded that she didn't dare to lift her head.

"This matter cannot be left like this!" Zhao Jing declared resolutely. "I demand an immediate meeting of all military dependents.
