"Who says otherwise?! She's so beautiful and delicate, she definitely can't stand the hardships on the island! Just wait and see, it won't be long before these two break up!"
Another military wife chimed in.
"Yeah, what's the use of a pretty woman? She's just a vase! Marrying her is like having a decoration; she's not cut out for managing a household at all! If you ask me, it's better to marry a wife like us, a virtuous and capable woman who can manage a household!"
"Who says otherwise? A beautiful woman like that who never lifts a finger must know nothing about housework or anything. She just spends a man's money and enjoys life. It's fine for Commander Lu to support her for a day or two, but it will definitely get tiring in the long run! Sooner or later, these two will break up!"
Several military wives watched Lu Linchuan's departing figure and waited until the couple was far away, whispering among themselves.
Lu Linchuan led her through several rows of neat barracks and stopped in a slightly open area.
There are several detached houses with small courtyards here, with red bricks and gray tiles. Although the style is old, they have a more homely feel than those tenement buildings.
"These sets are all empty, take a look and see which one you like." Lu Linchuan's voice was deep and magnetic, with a gentle tone.
Su Wantang's gaze swept across the courtyard, finally settling on the innermost one, a small courtyard with a few withered vines climbing its wall. The courtyard wasn't large, but it was the cleanest, with only some miscellaneous items piled up in the corner.
"That one, I'll go with." She pointed.
That courtyard was more secluded and quieter than the others.
Lu Linchuan looked in the direction she pointed and nodded. "Okay."
He went straight up and used the key to unlock the patina-covered lock.
With a creak, the door opened, revealing an empty courtyard filled with dust; no one had lived here for a long time.
Without saying a word, Lu Linchuan rolled up the sleeves of his military uniform, revealing his muscular forearms.
He first placed his luggage in front of the small stone table in the yard, took out a tissue from his pocket, and gently wiped the small stool next to the stone table. After wiping it clean, he looked at the woman beside him with his deep, dark eyes and said, "You sit in the yard for a while, I'll unpack."
As he spoke, the man found a bucket and a broom in the corner and began cleaning efficiently.
When men get to work, they are incredibly strong, sweeping, wiping windows, and moving things without the slightest hesitation.
"Let me help you." Su Wantang couldn't bear to see Lu Linchuan running around so busily, so she got up to help—
"No need." Lu Linchuan wiped his hands on his clothes to avoid getting his wife's dress dirty. Then he stepped forward and gently pressed his wife down in the seat. "You're pregnant, it's not convenient for you. You can sit here."
He can do the housework.
He can't let his wife get tired.
"Okay." Su Wantang had no choice but to sit there quietly and watch the man busy himself.
The man had rolled up the sleeves of his military green training uniform to his elbows, revealing his muscular, bronze forearms, every inch of which exuded explosive power.
The man has broad shoulders and a narrow waist, with well-proportioned and firm muscles, and smooth lines that exude power.
Su Wantang's gaze slid from his bobbing Adam's apple to his sweat-dampened neck, and then to his slightly raised shoulder blades as he exerted himself.
The bead of sweat that slid down his chin eventually disappeared into his collar.
