As she spoke, her body went limp and she collapsed to the ground!
"Oh my god, what's going on!"
"What happened?"
The people inside the car exclaimed in surprise.
"Wife!" Lu Linchuan quickly hugged the woman in his arms. His brows were sharp, and his handsome face was covered with a layer of frost.
At this moment, Su Wantang secretly winked at Lu Linchuan from an angle where no one could see her.
In an instant, Lu Linchuan understood.
He immediately chimed in, "You two, don't go! It's all your fault; you made my wife faint!"
The two old women who were about to leave turned pale.
"This...it's because she's physically weak, we can't be blamed..."
"That's right!"
“My wife is already in poor health, but you two have taken over our beds and made her stand for so long. If anything happens to the baby in my wife’s womb because of you two, I will report it to the police—” Lu Linchuan’s voice was icy.
The two of them turned pale instantly.
"No...we can't call the police..." the old woman whispered, looking at Lu Linchuan pleadingly, "This is our fault, can't we apologize to you..."
"You guys made my wife faint. Do you think an apology is enough to make up for it?" Lu Linchuan's voice was icy.
"What should we do then..." the old woman asked, frowning.
Seeing this, onlookers couldn't help but say, "You two should give the other person some money; after all, medical treatment costs money!"
"Exactly! If it weren't for the two of you, that pregnant woman wouldn't have gotten sick from all the stress!"
Everyone was talking at once.
The two old women originally came hoping to get a good deal, so why would they be willing to pay?
“You’re clearly trying to extort money from us!” one of the old women said, frowning.
"Fine, since you're unwilling, I'll go find a flight attendant to give us a fair hearing!" the man sneered.
"No..." the old man quickly said, "We'll give it to you, we'll give it to you, okay?!"
As she spoke, she reluctantly pulled out ten yuan from her pocket, saying, "That's all I have!"
Lu Linchuan glanced at them coldly, "If anything happens to my wife, I will never forgive you!"
Seeing this, the two slunk away.
Lu Linchuan then took out a clean handkerchief from his bag and carefully wiped the berth before helping the "unconscious" Su Wantang lie down.
Not long after, Su Wantang opened her eyes "weakly".
"I'm sorry you had to go through this," he said softly.
Su Wantang shook her head, feeling a warm glow in her heart.
She leaned against the headboard, watching Lu Linchuan methodically pack his luggage, placing her belongings in easily accessible locations: a thermos, an enamel mug, and a small bag of her favorite dried apricots.
She lowered her voice and whispered, "Those two old women from earlier, I think they're suspicious. We can keep an eye on them."
If there's no problem, then why are you so afraid of seeing the flight attendants or the police?
“Mm,” Lu Linchuan replied.
With a loud bang, the train slowly started moving.
Before long, the scenery outside the window began to rush past, and the figures of people seeing each other off on the platform grew smaller and smaller.
The noise in the carriage seemed to subside somewhat as the train started moving, leaving only the monotonous sound of wheels rubbing against the rails.
Su Wantang finally breathed a sigh of relief, the fatigue of the journey washing over her. She leaned on Lu Linchuan's shoulder, her eyelids beginning to droop.
Lu Linchuan adjusted his posture to make her more comfortable.
"Take a nap, I'll wake you up when we get there."
