第497章 番外四,鸡飞狗跳的白家
Reading Settings
The young officer at the front had crisp epaulets and a sharply defined profile. The remaining moonlight swept across his slightly raised chin, outlining a clean silhouette on the side of his neck.
The man following closely behind adjusted his cuffs as he walked, the watch on his wrist reflecting a cold light under the porch lamp. He possessed an air of noble birth, but the shoulder seams of his military overcoat remained taut, exuding the air of a well-trained soldier.
The warm light of the hall spilled in, and the two men simultaneously squinted slightly. This subconscious movement of alertness caused the buckles on their belts to flash with a metallic gleam, like the smooth, taut muscle lines beneath the fur of a lurking cheetah adjusting its posture.
Fang Meng, who had just come out of the room after hearing the commotion, rolled his eyes at the two older men and gently pushed Hua Hua, who was about to pounce out, back into the room.
"Hey guys, could you at least let us know you were coming back? There are tigers and wolves in the house, and with all this commotion, aren't you afraid you'll be mistaken for thieves and torn apart as soon as you walk in the door?"
The brothers have been scattered all over the country in recent years, stationed in different locations, and can count the number of times they've met on their fingers. But even with so little time together, their brotherhood has not faded in the slightest. Fang Meng spoke so casually and naturally, as if his two older brothers had just gone for a walk early in the morning and were only now returning home.
Fang Zhou, who was the first to come in, rolled his eyes at him, strode over, and habitually ruffled his younger brother's hair: "How dare you talk to your brother like that! Hurry up and get something to eat. Your brother Bai and I have been traveling all night, and our stomachs are rumbling."
In recent years, Fang Zhou and Bai Yukai have both developed well in their respective military bases and are highly valued by their leaders. They are both young officers who are being cultivated as key personnel by their respective military regions.
In Beijing, there have always been people who want to bring these two brothers back, preferably to work together. After all, they grew up together, and given their level of understanding, they wouldn't even need a break-in period to be paired up.
However, they hadn't found a suitable opportunity until the end of last year when the 72nd Army's proposal to add a field division was approved. The old commander of the 72nd Army hurriedly got the two brothers over, which took a lot of effort. The old man almost threw a tantrum at the General Headquarters.
It was also thanks to the old commander's quick reflexes that even Zhu Kaixuan couldn't outmaneuver this veteran. Fortunately, the 72nd Military Region was stationed in Langshi, Hebei, not far from home, so the children no longer had to be separated by thousands of miles and hadn't seen each other for years.
And so, at the beginning of this year, Zhou and Bai Yukai were promoted at the same time and transferred back to the Hebei military base near Beijing.
They are both now serving in the 72nd Army under the Beijing Military Region. One has become a deputy division-level commander, and the other has taken on the role of division political commissar, becoming partners in the same division headquarters.
Bai Yukai took off his military overcoat, turned around and neatly hung it on the coat rack by the door. He glanced back at Fang Zhou's actions, curled his lips, walked over, grabbed Fang Zhou by the back of his collar, pulled him off balance, and casually tossed him onto the sofa next to him.
"You just got back and you're already bullying my brother? Fang Zhou, are you asking for a beating? Don't think that just because you've become a deputy division commander you can act tough at home."
"Hey!" Fang Zhou flipped over nimbly on the sofa, crossed his legs, raised an eyebrow at Bai Yukai, and looked at him with a smug look that seemed to invite a beating. "What's this, Chief of Staff Bai? You're trying to establish your authority by taking advantage of me, the deputy division commander, now that you've taken office? I'll be making things difficult for you every day when we work together from now on, won't I?"
"You bastard! Do you live in a Bagua formation or something? Stop being so sarcastic!" Bai Yukai laughed and cursed, then grabbed a cushion from the sofa and slapped it at Fang Zhou's handsome face.
"Damn it! Bai Tiedan, you tried to ambush me? You can't take a joke!"
Fangzhou nimbly dodged to the side, then stood up abruptly, hands on his hips, smugly showing off even more.
"You say my house is in a Bagua formation? Bai Tiedan, have you lost your mind? There are four of us siblings, we're a family. Even if my house is a pigsty, there's still a place for you, Bai Tiedan!"
"Fang Tiezhu! I've told you eight hundred times, you're not allowed to call me by that nickname anymore!"
With a furious roar, Bai Yukai instantly forgot all his noble bearing and aristocratic demeanor. His hair almost stood on end as he rolled up his sleeves and pounced on Fang Zhou.
Fang Meng stared blankly at his two older brothers who had suddenly started fighting, as if he had been transported back to the time when he was five or six years old.
Back then, whenever those guys got together at home, it was always a chaotic mess, day or night.
The composure of a young officer, the dignity of a noble family scion... all of that is meaningless in front of one's own brothers!
Once these two brothers start arguing, they only have one thought in their minds—to pin the other down first!
"Fatty, what are you standing there for! Come over here and help me hold him down!"
"Little Fatty! I'm the boss! Come here and help me take him down!"
Fang Meng... Fang Meng felt his fist harden!
"How many times have I told you! I'm all grown up! Don't call me that anymore!" The younger brother, whose blood pressure was soaring, clenched and unclenched his hands at his sides, repeating this several times, but he still couldn't suppress the anger in his heart.
at last……
