Chapter 373 She is a Detective

Shan Shushu gasped softly, and Jiang Hongtao quickly reached out a hand and caught the little head that was about to hit the table.
"That scared me to death! Hongtao is so reliable!" Shan Shushu patted her chest in fright, then quickly reached out and carefully supported Bai Nuo's little head before placing it on the table.
Jiang Hongtao glanced at Bai Nuo's police uniform and whispered, "I guess their police station had some urgent case. They must have been busy all night and didn't even have time to change their clothes before rushing to class this morning."
"Let's shield her!" Mu Yuelan also looked over and quickly held up the book she had borrowed in front of Bai Nuo.
Shan Shushu suddenly remembered the rumor she had heard this morning, frowned slightly, and whispered, "Bai Nuo just said she ran here, so her workplace should not be far from our school, right?"
“Yes!” Jiang Hongtao nodded. “The nearest police station to our school is the Huan’an Branch, and there are two other street police stations. I remember when we were in the principal’s office, Bai Nuo said she was a criminal investigator, so she’s definitely not from a police station. She’s probably from the Huan’an Branch.”
[Note: The term "police" first appeared in the late Qing Dynasty.]
(The modern term "criminal police" was officially established after the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1950. The Ministry of Public Security uniformly referred to criminal police as "people's police," a term that is still used today.)
"That's right!" Shan Shushu exclaimed in surprise, her round eyes widening as she whispered to her roommates, "I heard this morning that a third-year student at our school was robbed on her way back to school last night and her head was smashed. She's still in the hospital, and I don't know how she is. Do you think Bai Nuo was busy with this case last night?"
"Cough cough!"
A cough suddenly came from the side, and Shan Shushu, who was whispering with her head down, suddenly froze, her expression awkward and uncomfortable.
"Do any of you students have any opinions about my class? If so, please feel free to speak up. Don't be shy." The history professor walked over at some point, looking at the row of students in front of him with a detached yet somewhat helpless gaze.
In the past, given his temper, he would have either kicked those schools out of the classrooms immediately or given them a sharp reprimand.
But after that long period of suffering, it seems that all his temper has not been worn away. Now he doesn't even dare to say anything excessive to these students. After all, if he is not careful, he will be reported by those extreme students, or they will post big-character posters with some empty words to spread rumors and cause trouble.
However, seeing these young people finally get to university classrooms, but instead of learning new knowledge seriously, they always think about wasting their time, getting a diploma so they can get a job, he feels a heartbreaking sense of powerlessness.
If young people don't study, don't strive, and don't absorb better and newer knowledge, then who will inherit the future of their country, and how will their country's thousands of years of history and culture be passed on?
Just as the old professor was filled with sorrow, he saw the students in front of him stand up at the same time, without the slightest embarrassment or grievance, and sincerely bow to him.
"Teacher, I'm sorry. I was talking to my classmate. I shouldn't have disrupted the class." Shan Shushu spoke first, her tone sincere, full of remorse and apology.
"You..." The old professor looked at the students who were bowing down to him in shock.
"I'm sorry, teacher, I will never do it again!" Jiang Hongtao apologized immediately, his tone low and cold, but full of sincerity.
"We promise, it definitely won't happen again!" Liu Ying and Mu Yuelan quickly said.
Bai Nuo didn't actually let herself fall into a deep sleep. She was indeed very tired, but there was no one around who she could completely trust. Her body instinctively made it impossible for her to fall into a deep sleep. She took a deep breath and was about to look up when she suddenly felt a gentle hand cover her head. Immediately afterward, Jiang Hongtao's voice rang out.
"I'm sorry, teacher. This student is a serving criminal police officer. She was on a mission last night and didn't sleep. She had class this morning and rushed back to school. She probably couldn't stay awake any longer and that's why she fell asleep. Don't worry, give her five more minutes. We'll wake her up after five minutes and a few of us will help her catch up on the lessons she missed."
"Yes, yes, I took notes. I won't let her miss anything." Mu Yuelan pushed the notebook on the desk in front of her. Perhaps because of her profession, as a communications soldier, she liked to write everything down in her notebook. So even though she came to audit the class with her roommate, Mu Yuelan subconsciously wrote down what the teacher was saying.
I never expected it to come in handy so quickly!
The old professor never expected there was a serving criminal police officer here!
The profession of criminal police is quite special, and every police station in the public security system is short of criminal investigation personnel. So even if someone is recommended by their unit to the Workers, Peasants and Soldiers University, they will not be able to take a leave of absence without pay like other units do, and will instead focus on being a student at the school.
Basically, more than half of the criminal police officers who are recommended to go to university choose to study while working, trying their best to coordinate their time between the two.
Kyoto University has had two or three criminal police officers who came to study there before, but this is the first time I've seen such a young girl as a criminal police officer.
Those students who clearly heard Jiang Hongtao's words couldn't help but show a shocked expression, curiously looking at the little girl who was sleeping on the table with her arms propped up.
Can a detective like this really defeat those vicious criminals?
"You said this student is a criminal police officer!" Even the old professor looked at Bai Nuo in surprise.
